Hey there everyone, how's it going? As you all know, we're all very excited for Kingdom Hearts III, and well, as we wait for news, we can't help but speculate on what's to come. Something that hit me today was the words "Darkness Prevails and Light Expires" from the latest Kingdom Hearts III teaser. It got me thinking. Sure, Kingdom Hearts III is the definitive end of the Xehanort Saga, and as such, it will be one hell of an ending, but I thought of this. Tell me what you think.
Okay, so suppose that Xehanort indeed forges the X-Blade and eventually unlocks the power of the true Kingdom Hearts. What then? I remember reading on this site from one of the members that Xehanort could obtain all the power he desired, but end up being sealed inside Kingdom Hearts, thus, making his newfound powers useless. After thinking about that, I thought about this. Since Xehanort obtains all this power, he shifts the balance of light and darkness, thus making darkness obtain dominance. But, light does not fade completely. And slowly, Sora and the gang start to rebuild the lost worlds and restore the balance so that the true Kingdom Hearts can resurface again. This way, Xehanort is out of the picture, but darkness itself has taken over. And that's when the new villains of the next saga would come in.
They'd be upset that Sora and the gang weren't able to keep the balance in check because of Xehanort obtaining the power of Kingdom Hearts, thus, these new villains that are on the side of light try to dispose of Sora and the gang in the belief that by doing so, they would restore light, therefore restoring the balance between light and darkness. I think it'd be an intriguing premise, and this way, the Xehanort Saga ended with Xehanort's defeat, but not exactly with a happy ending, and beginning the new saga with these villains of the light who want to eliminate Sora and friends! What do you think? Let me know your thoughts on this!
