Here are the current gen platform totals according to VGChartz.

PS4: 15.09 million Globally.

Xbox One: 8.06 million Globally.

Wii U: 7.63 million Globally.

As you can see, Sony has totally owned this gen. PS4life!!

This thread reflects my personal opinion only. If you're opinion is different I respect that.

While sure the Ps4 is dominant,VGcharts isn't an accurate source when it comes to sale figures so I'm still skeptical about the figures of the other two consoles

Mah best friend just bought one. Now, to murder him and get the exploits xD

It's great and all but it doesn't mean that great of a deal to consumers.

I beg to differ.

Lolz... I'll keep quiet.... Just kidding!

They're pretty good actually, I've compared they're figures to sales figures released by a company like Square.

Why?

Why?

Because people always go to the most popular thing... Well, most of the time anyway. And PS is always been popular.

PS1 was the winner of it's gen showing us some the first games that actually sort of looked like people and the first heavy use for voices in games.

PS2 was considered a MAJOR jump in technology. It still today sits upon the thrown of the best selling console of all time. I mean games originally made for PS2 hold up really well when remastered for PS3!

PS3 while not the winner of it's gen was still revolutionary. It was the first console to use blu ray discs and offered the best possible console experience at that time. Just like PS1 and 2. A lot of people think X360 sold better, but if you look at global sale it didn't. PS3 still beat it by a little bit.

PS4, just like the first two whens it's gen! It has earned the title of "Most powerful console ever made" and has super fast load times. PS4 could outsale PS2 by the time it's finished. I love PS4 and feel it's the best console ever.

Anyway, my point is PS has always been super popular and well known and that's one of the many reasons it's does so well. Another is that it always has the most powerful experience.

The jump in power had little to do with PS2's success. The built-in DVD player and amazing library of games is what sold it. And the PS2 wasn't even that powerful.

Is was more powerful than Gamecube and Xbox. Yeah, I forgot to mention the DVD player, but it was the best console experience of it's time and it's games (like KH 1.5 and 2.5) still look pretty good when remastered.

Check the specs. Xbox was more powerful. That just comes down to the developer.

According to many sources it's even. I gotta say... I never took you for an Xbox guy.

The big factor: Xbox has a HDD.

I've never had an Xbox. Lol.

What?

You can't exactly talk about how successful the ps4 is when even sony is confused as to why it's selling so well. In fact, this could be troublesome, as disappointing people who bought the ps4 could decide not to buy the ps5 because of it.

Dude, it loads fast, it has great graphics and a ton of exclusives coming. The controller feels better and it's more user friendly. That's why.

That's your opinion, and if it's not shared by the people paid to figure out why this things selling, than it's a completely worthlss opinion

Umm I would say it is shared by other fans considering it's the best selling console by far this gen and everyone praises it.

Wait a couple of years and Xbox will catch up. This generation is far from over.

Keyword: fans. Of course the fans are going to praise it, they're fans. I'm not going to judge you because of it, since a lot of people including me fall for it, but public opinion is a trap. Because you're a kingdom hearts fan and a sony fan, you likely tend to have more friends and tend to listen better to people who agree with you. I myself have a ps4 and I'm not saying the ps4 is complete garbage, but I just don't see how 15 million people have already seen enough promise in the ps4 to buy it. Besides, the xbone and wii u both have great graphics and fast load times and a ton of exclusives coming. In fact the ps4 has the least exclusives coming right now.
