Posted December 30, 201411 yr Square Enix has trademarked Final Fantasy Record Keeper in Europe which pretty much confirms a worldwide release is on the way for the free-to-play game that made Square Enix over one billion yen in one month. Thanks go to Square Portal for the tip.
December 30, 201411 yr "free-to-play" "over one billion yen" I wouldn't say it's free to play, more like pay to win or pay to get things even though the game is supposed to be free.
December 30, 201411 yr Author "free-to-play" "over one billion yen" I wouldn't say it's free to play, more like pay to win or pay to get things even though the game is supposed to be free. It's still free-to-play. Purchases of content is completely optional.
December 30, 201411 yr It's still free-to-play. Purchases of content is completely optional. So the base game is free, but the content to add onto it costs money. Sneaky
December 30, 201411 yr Author So the base game is free, but the content to add onto it costs money. Sneaky There are millions of games like this.
December 30, 201411 yr There are millions of games like this. I know: still sneaky. They lure you in with "free gameplay" then tell you upgrades to make your character actually usable or a well balanced weapon costs extra. They did the same thing in American Mgee's games, where all the actually usefully weapons cost an extra 12 bucks.

December 30, 201411 yr If you honestly think a free game should be free, you're probably too young to understand how money works
December 30, 201411 yr If you honestly think a free game should be free, you're probably too young to understand how money works I'm not saying that, I'm just saying that using "free to play" and saying how much money it made within 5 words of each other just seems odd.
December 30, 201411 yr I'm not saying that, I'm just saying that using "free to play" and saying how much money it made within 5 words of each other just seems odd. it's not a lie though it's free for you to play it
December 30, 201411 yr it's not a lie though it's free for you to play it I never said lie. I said that using those statements in the same sentence sounds weird.
December 30, 201411 yr I never said lie. I said that using those statements in the same sentence sounds weird. hm, I guess I jsut don't see it I've long since filtered "Free to Play" into "Free to Try"
December 30, 201411 yr hm, I guess I jsut don't see it I've long since filtered "Free to Play" into "Free to Try" I'm used to it too, but hearing it being marketed as "a free to play game that's made over one billion yen" is just weird.
December 30, 201411 yr Not sneaky. They make it obvious there's in-game purchases. I just meant why say 100% free when all the power ups cost extra? It's just a way to draw in online sales, I guess. Nothing's free anymore.
