Would You Like a Game With the Worlds Connected?

Posted

If so, what would you want it to be like? Think about a future KH games where the worlds are completely connected and you travel to them by foot through vast beautiful fields and routes directly inspired by Disney movies, with the center of each world acting kind of like a hub of some sorts with shops and a bunch of NPCs. The worlds would obviously be bigger so it'd take a lot more time and effort to make the game, so I'm thinking about 10 worlds (including original KH worlds) total would be good, not counting some linear path and area that leads to the final boss. After you get to an area and complete it, you unlock a ride there that can send you to other places you've previously cleared. I dunno, just an idea I've had. I'd like some input, opinions, and other ideas too.

You mean no gummi ship filler bullshit? Sure. I believe the worlds used to be one world also according to the lore.

Never. World order is screwed up, Mulan winds up in Winnie The Pooh, and all the lovely rage quit worthy gummy ship missions are no more.

Nah, it wouldn't be like that. I was thinking more you'd get to Atlantica and other water places by walking off the beach of Hawaii (Lilo and Stitch) and you'd have to travel across a desert like place to get to Agrabah, and more suburban areas would be all near each other. My idea for rides to get between worlds you've been to could work just like the gummi ship and be ranked and include extra missions to compromise for the gummi stuff though.

Yeah, the worlds were connected a long while back. If they really wanna restore the world in KH, shouldn't a part of the goal be bringing all the worlds back together? It'd be a great thing to see in a happy ending and a cool way to change up Saga 2. Of course, they'd have to come up with ideas to change up the order of worlds each game in the saga, or they'd have to use completely new worlds in new overworlds each time. I'm sure they could think of something.

...just this?

I know, I was being an a$$.

But I prefer it being separate, really: makes each "world" feel like it's different, yet connected, and such a drastic switch to a fully fledged whole world this late in the game would be oddball.

Nah, not out of nowhere, but at the beginning of a saga. But I see where you're standing with that, because having each world separate does feel pretty special. Maybe a game with connected worlds could take place far off in KH-Space or whatever with a clump of worlds connected or something.

I can see that: like a london world with several of the Disney plots occurring in it, or the Hawaii world you mentioned

I would like it... Would be a cool way to end the Xehnaort Saga: the boundaries between the worlds being fully destroyed.

It won't "destroy the soul" of the Kingdom Hearts series because some Disney and/or Pixar movies already exist in a shared Universe (or at least there are lots of Easter Eggs which hint this is true). It's already in the Kingdom Hearts lore that at one point all the worlds were connected, so it's bound to happen eventually. A semi open-world game will breathe new life into the series imo.

The biggest thing I would like to see happen is one of the tree portals in Halloween Town connecting to Monster's Inc.

I'd rather want the individual worlds to be much bigger.

I've wanted that for a long time: I really want to see what the world would look like if the Dark barriers were broken down. Not to mention that having the Disney characters interact with one another would be fantastic. Jack Skellington would be beside himself with all the new things he's discovering.

Monster's Inc. isn't a holiday, so none of the tree portals would connect to it.

No, but the doors from Monster's Inc could connect there. I guess any door could technically be a way to connect to Monsters Inc... That world was just the first place I could think of xD

I guess you have a point there.

Now that I think about it, a Monsters Inc World and Halloween Town could serve as pretty good gateways to other worlds. Maybe an entire game in a saga with connected worlds could use that feature to prevent rehashing routes and going back to a process of selecting worlds instead of traveling to them.
