January 24, 201510 yr Author True, but not as much so as a new AAA title. Well most of these ports are for PS4. With a few for PC and maybe 3DS.
January 24, 201510 yr Well most of these ports are for PS4. With a few for PC and maybe 3DS. Square Enix puts out WAY more ports than new games though. -_-
January 24, 201510 yr Author Square Enix puts out WAY more ports than new games though. -_- Well yeah, because ports can be done in a matter of months and be outsourced to many studios. While AAA PS4 games take years to develop.
January 24, 201510 yr Well yeah, because ports can be done in a matter of months and be outsourced to many studios. While AAA PS4 games take years to develop. the ports are still pretty excessive by any standard
January 24, 201510 yr Well yeah, because ports can be done in a matter of months and be outsourced to many studios. While AAA PS4 games take years to develop. What happens when they run out of stuff to port?
January 24, 201510 yr Author the ports are still pretty excessive by any standard That simply doesn't matter though. The truth is there's demand for all these ports and more. What happens when they run out of stuff to port? Never are. There's simply so much they could port and there's always new platforms coming out.
January 24, 201510 yr That simply doesn't matter though. The truth is there's demand for all these ports and more. Never are. There's simply so much they could port and there's always new platforms coming out. At the rate they're going? Ya never know.
January 24, 201510 yr That simply doesn't matter though. The truth is there's demand for all these ports and more. they're going to burn it all out with oversaturation
January 24, 201510 yr Author At the rate they're going? Ya never know. At the rate they're going? Lol. If you hadn't noticed all they've been porting the past few years and into the next couple is the classic FF games and KH games. There's plenty of spin-offs. Not to mention all their other franchises. And as I said there's always new platforms. Nintendo's next handheld isn't far off for example. they're going to burn it all out with oversaturation Whatever you say hatok. Truth stands there's always demand for these games on PS4, PC etc.

January 24, 201510 yr Author I've literally never seen you disagree with SE. Many people would agree with me in saying SE is going overboard with ports. Why disagree with good sales? Haha. Many people would, but most of the same people including yourself get excited over ports for certain platforms. You said it yourself, despite having them on PS3 you're getting VII and X/X-2 HD on PS4. And you've also said yourself you really want all the other PS3 games on PS4 including 1.5, 2.5 and the XIII trilogy.
January 24, 201510 yr Whatever you say hatok. Truth stands there's always demand for these games on PS4, PC etc. that remains to be seen even then, whatever short term demand you see, the long term can't be sustained on ports Why disagree with good sales? Haha. Many people would, but most of the same people including yourself get excited over ports for certain platforms. You said it yourself, despite having them on PS3 you're getting VII and X/X-2 HD on PS4. And you've also said yourself you really want all the other PS3 games on PS4 including 1.5, 2.5 and the XIII trilogy. yes, but as more and more ports come to exist there will be less and less of those people. That's why they'll burn out.

January 24, 201510 yr The long term is safe with the likes of KH3, FFXVI and XII HD Remaster. that's not long term that's a few years
January 24, 201510 yr Author that's not long term that's a few years Long term for this generation. And as I keep saying, people will keep buying the ports so Square Enix will keep doing them. And soravids, seriously. You're the one saying you want TWEWY ported to 3DS when it's already playable on 3DS. Lol. Seriously, if something is being ported to PS4 you'll get excited but it's for a platform you don't like even if that platform is very popular and has no way to legally play that game you say you're sick of ports.

TWEWY is underrepresented Final Fantasy VII isn't, and FFIV DEFINITELY isn't. You can't treat all ports/remasters/remakes as equal. I'll buy an FFXII HD remaster because otherwise I'm stuck with the PS2 version. You can't really say the same about the more popular FF games But even then, they could be staggering them more. It's like Mario games. The customer doesn't look and see that one Mario game was a 2D platformer, one was a 3D platformer, one was a kart racer, one was a tennis game, one was a puzzle game, and one was an RPG, they just see six Mario games being released and think it's too much. Seeing literally dozens of Final Fantasy releases looks ridiculous

Seeing literally dozens of Final Fantasy releases looks ridiculous I agree, but it makes ZERO sense to port something to a platform where it's already playable. If Square Enix could, they'd just emulate the games on 3DS and so on but it's not possible because Nintendo doesn't give a shit about the 3DS VC.

January 24, 201510 yr Author I don't think they would "remakes" sell for more It's what they did for Wii, Wii U and PS3. And seriously on this topic you're getting annoyed by PS4 and PC ports. I'm sure you can understand how massive Steam is. And PS4 well it's a new platform where the most important titles in franchise history are on/will be. They're trying to build up the PS4 userbase for FFXV.

And PS4 well it's a new platform where the most important titles in franchise history are on/will be. They're trying to build up the PS4 userbase for FFXV. The PS4 ports are pretty egregious, I don't think they'll attract many if any new fans, maybe some people casually interested, but even then they'd be so much better served by offering the cheaper PS1 ports versus the more expensive PC version with such negligible upgrades. Assuming their goal is to get people interested in buying FFXV that is I don't really have an issue with the PC ports honestly, since that's an area Square Enix hasn't really pushed the FF brand, and it makes it more likely other major Japanese square games will make it to steam, and thus go on huge sales, and ultimately save me money (and delay me having to buy a PS4) but MAN I wish more love and attention was given to these PC ports, rather than upscaling the phone versions But again, the issue is density. Too many ports at once. Nothing more

Type-0 HD, VII and X/X-2 HD are what they're doing to boost the userbase, III-VI are simply them making an echosystem. And if you're talking about upscaling the iOS/Android versions, that's basically what the PSOne ports were. And it's only upscale if you want it past 1080p.
