ALMOST EVERYTIME I TRY TO BUY SOMETHING AT THE SHOPS I GET THIS:

 

''Oooh,  that's for boys, why don't you buy this one instead?''

 

It really grinds my gears.

 

This is the real dialogue of two times I was at EB Games

 

*I buy a Nintendo 2DS*

Cash register guy: I have to give you pokemon X and Y with that

Me:..ok...I'll take that version(Even though I don't play pokemon)

Cash register guy: Oh but don't you want that one it has more female characters

Me: *Politely* I don't... really care..about that? .-.

Cash register guy: I'll just sell the DS to you by itself then

 

 

Another time

Shop dude: What would you like?, etc,

Me: ^_^ The Finn hat and Jake scarf, could you please you get it down for me? (They have a habit of putting stuff out of reach)

Shop dude: You sure you don't want the Lady Ranicorn scarf and Fionna hat instead?

Me: D: ..>_> ....No.(I do like those characters, but that's not the point you little shit, if I wanted that this time I would have said so)

 

 

Seriously...

 

Every-time it happens I be nice and decline their offer but I really feel like doing this because of how obvious it is they have gender roles so far up their ass they can't just Do. Their. Job. and. sell. me. the. things.

 

I like wearing boys shirts but apparently I can't buy any without getting a freaking lecture

I understand completely.

 

I hate it when the cashier asks why I wanna buy tampons.

Just go with "No need to delve into gender stereotypes bud".  They'll feel awkward and uncomfortable and then we're all happy.

Really, you should be allowed to buy what you want, when you want without gender stereotypes being brought up by the Cashier/Shop Assistant.

 

Infuriating doesn't even cover it when stuff like that occurs. I haven't had much experience with that myself but, I can wholeheartedly agree that it is stupid of them to do so.

 

Put simply: You buy what you want, Kittens and don't let nobody tell you any different!
