I just finished listening to all of the Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep soundtrack, and I must say, I'm impressed. Shimomura can be easily classified as one of the best composers in the world right now. The way she can make music that precisely fits the theme of the game is just incredible. Aqua's theme fits her story sooo perfectly, and so does Terra's theme and Ven's theme. The battle themes for all of the games are genius to me, but my favorite is Xemnas' final battle theme, that just pwns. And I'm excited to know that she will be composing new music for Re:coded and KH 3D, I'm pretty sure those soundtracks will pwn once released. How do you guys feel about Yoko Shimomura? And what are your favorite compositions by her?

The 13th Reflection, Aqua's Final Encounter (FINAL battle), Vanitas' Sentiment, Dive into the Heart, Destati... screw it, everything. I've pretty much got all the soundtracks on my PSP.

Aqua's final boss music, a truly beautiful piece of music. Isn't it amazing how Shimomura includes other of her pieces in some of her music? You can hear Dearly Beloved in Aqua's final boss, parts of The Other Promise in Aquas main theme, the list just goes on. And I also have to give credits to the 358/2 Days music, those were good pieces as well. Xion's theme was well composed. You can listen to Namine's theme, Kairi's theme, and Xion's theme, and know that they are connected. Its just amazing how just the KH music tells the story so much.

Just a note, there won't be NEW music persay in Re:Coded, it'll be altered versions of the songs already present in Coded. Which in turn, are simplified midis of songs from previous games.

3D should have new and high quality music though, looking forward to that.

And if you like Shimomuras work, you should also have a look at her orchestral stuff (Kingdom Hearts, but other stuff as well)

She also does the music for Mario RPGs.

Altered versions still pwn. And I agree with you on the KH 3D part, I wonder if Sora and Riku will get new themes? The music overall is going to be awesome. And I listen to Yoko's other stuff too, shes worked for Nintendo, like you mentioned, but she does a lot of Square stuff, like Parasite Eve, and those pieces are good too. But her KH composing is my favorite.

Xion Final Boss theme, pretty epic I must say. I like how it sounds JUST like her theme, but it sounds like something different as well. Yoko did good on that one.

That is one of the most beautiful pieces I've ever heard, I think of Heaven everytime I hear it.

Yoko Shimomura is AMAZING!!! My favorite song is probably between Dearly Beloved and Namine's Theme.

I have to say....... Roxas's Theme because I love the piano and other instruments! Roxas being my favorite character makes why I live that composition even stronger! And also The Organization 13 theme!

There are so many great songs, it's difficult to choose just a few. Right now, I'll just say Fragments of Sorrow (BBS), Dearly Beloved, The Other Promise, Destati, and Fate of the Unknown. Somnus from Versus XIII is also great, as well as the unknown theme from the DK?3713 trailer.

Right. They're composed by Takeharu Ishimoto (Crisis Core, TWEWY, Dissidia). Keiji Kawamori (Advent Children, base guitarist of The Black Mages) also composed some pieces in BBS, but he wasn't credited yet for any in particular. Both of them composed 5 songs.
