May 12, 201510 yr Wonder why it wasn't released standalone to begin with. Plenty of other DLC for other games are released simultaneously as an add-on and as its own separate package.
May 12, 201510 yr Some of these quotes are... weird. "The video game that finally made me feel like a human being." Wh....what? What sort of self respected gamer says that? Was he forced into gaming or something? Seems like he isn't having a very good time.
May 12, 201510 yr Not sure why they released it as standalone? I really feel like if you haven't played The Last of Us, you would really miss out on all of the nuances.

Well, assume someone has TLoU on the PS3. They could just buy the DLC for the PS3 if they wanted to play it without having to pay for the whole package wich means paying for the main game again.

May 12, 201510 yr I'm confused? Why is it being released as a "standalone" now? Because Naughty Dog is trying to milk that cow dry. Edited May 12, 201510 yr by Tails
May 13, 201510 yr Because Naughty Dog is trying to milk that cow dry.Oh.Well I still am confused. So they essentially just made the DLC not require the main game to run now?
May 13, 201510 yr Oh.Well I still am confused. So they essentially just made the DLC not require the main game to run now? it has two purposes either people who have heard of the last of us but haven't spent full price on the game can try a bite sized version and hopefully buy the full game as a result or people who have the game on one system, and want to DLC for another (like say they have the original game on PS3 but would prefer having the DLC in PS4) It's definitely a small market though, especially since the game is so old now
