Hello, friends... Tonight, we find ourselves on Main Street, inside of a city called Athánatos. To any average person, they may not know of this city, mostly because it's cut off from the rest of the world. It even has it's own government. But, as of late, the city has undergone a, shall we say, metamorphosis of sorts. One that would change the citizens of Athánatos until their very last breaths. 

Are you ready for the events that will unfold?

Now, follow me as we go down the streets and through the night 

into the world of madness...

Welcome to the revived Athánatos (Meaning 'immortal' in greek) RP Sign-Ups.

Those of you brave enough to proceed shall be thrust into a hostile world and story filled with mystery, surprises, conflict, and war.

 

Here is a quick background of the history of the city of Athánatos, and its current trials.

 In a dim and distant future, mankind has been altered after a reconstruction of the race. The Earth is now anew and its inhabitants are now vastly different.

 

How did this occur?

 

     60 years ago, In the small city known as Athánatos, beasts and humans lived alongside each other. Different variations of these beasts existed, such as vampires, werewolves, incubi, succubi, ghosts, wendigos, and so many more. It was like this for the longest time.

 

     During that time, scientists produced two prototype serums; one vaccine that would keep the humans immune from the deadly infections and virus of the beasts, and a serum to help humans unlock the hidden powers in their brains, gaining super-human abilities. The government had over 200,000 human participants. It was a monumental success for about 20 days...

Until the of autumn that year.

 

     The vaccine had failed to fully work, as the human participants began to turn into beasts themselves. Unable to fully control themselves, they lashed out and terrorized Athánatos, and created a bloody massacre. The ones already born as beasts fought alongside and rebelled, the majority of them saying they will one day take control of the city, and eventually, the world. The humans, with their new super-human abilities, as well as some good beasts, fought for peace and power. They fought for almost 5 years straight, and the war spread all throughout the world, until both sides gave up. They regretted diminishing their races, and begin reconstruction of their city and races.

 

     Now in present times in Athánatos, reconstruction is complete. The city still combines beasts and super-humans, now know as Espers. However, the bias government gives full privacy to the Espers, while the beasts are heavily criticized, monitored, and segregated. The whole government is filled with corruption and lies. At the moment, the city is undergoing a large rebellion because of a string of murders that occurred. All of the murders involve the victims hearts torn out, and having black fangs lodged in their collarbones. Some  rebels are on opposing sides, and some don't want to get involved at all. Who caused the murders, and could the rebellion fix or destroy the city? How will the government reacts.

 

This story is still unwritten, and so is yours.

Now for character sheets! You can have multiple characters as either an Esper or beast. Espers possess super-human abilities that are controlled by their minds. Examples of the powers of an Esper could be things like psychokinesis, chronokinesis, teleportation, etc. 

Those of you who choose Espers, you can use this video as reference for abilities, or look one up one your own. Make sure it isn't too overpowered.

 

 

For those of you who choose beasts, you have a variety of monsters to choose from. Like vampires, werewolves, incubi, succubi, ghosts, wendigos, etc. Choose whatever to your hearts consent.

Strengths: Played piano for since he was 5, is very good at it. Is always sweet and kind. Can manipulate sound waves and frequencies.
Weaknesses: Is insecure about his preferences and very shy, despite being a somewhat open bisexual. Runs away from his problems and drowns them out with music. Is a huge scaredy cat. Denies his wants in place of needs.

 

Personality: Joel is a hopeless romantic, is a bit curious to find what it means to love, and be loved in return. He's old fashioned and tries his best to be mature and collected. Can be stubborn at times, but is also very curious.

Character Background: He is an orphan that lives in the local apartments alone. He wishes to bring peace between the espers and beasts in some way. His parents were killed when he was around 10-years-old by an unruly vampire. He escaped by lighting the house on fire and escaping, leaving the vampire to burn inside. A nice esper named Ellen took him in and raised him like a little brother for the rest of his youth. 
Wants: To bring peace and find love. To become first-chair cellist in the Athánatos Symphony.
Problems: Is in a low-income environment. Is too scared to really do anything.

Strengths: Born with his power, Randir has trained it to mastery since a very young age. He is practically the go-to expert on Cryomancy, using many forms of his Ice-Based Powers such as to create weapons fashioned from the Ice he can conjure such as Swords, Daggers, Hammers etc. Can freeze his opponents with Ice Balls, freeze the soles of his feet to allow himself to slide using its slippery nature, create "Ice Clones" of himself which are akin to afterimages, being completely immobile and produced from a quick movement which, upon contact, will flash-freeze a weak opponent or severely slow down a stronger one, but they will fade after a short period of time. He can also cover himself in Armour-like Ice to protect himself until it breaks either from excess damage, he dispels it or it simply fades off after a long period of time. He can even fire beams of ice to freeze opponents from a further distance or use them to create other kinds of Ice based obstacles such as Icy Spikes on the ground or a wall of Ice. He even has Icy Breath normally due to his speciality in Cryomancy and it can be enhanced to breath freezing cold air as a hindering move. He is also highly trained in hand-to-hand combat, having learned such techniques during his time of Cryomancy training.

 

Weaknesses: Being a Cryomancer, Randir is extremely vulnerable to Fire-Based Attacks while also being able to counter them, but it is still a great disadvantage should he drop his guard. While being strong and agile, he's not so good with intellectual tasks, not to say he is dumb, but he is not exceptionally smart. He is a Hero-type person, always willing to help those in need, forsaking any risks that may come to him during such a task. This is both a strength AND weakness as it benefits him but can also be highly detrimental as it has put him in many a tough scrape in the past.

 

Character Background: Born an Esper into a higher class family, Randir enjoyed a life without too much conflict but still sought to develop his powers and skills from a very young age, as back then, he thought it was "cool", being a young child with Cryomancy. This however, soon became his weapon for justice as he has seen Espers and Beasts alike murdered or harassed for reasons he deemed unfair and unjust. It was only after a secret best friend of his who was a Werewolf was captured and killed by extremists, along with his brothers sudden disappearance in public while taking him out to town that the final straw was upon him and he set out to become a Vigilante at the disapproval of his parents, but he did not let that stop him. He wanted to protect and save as many people as he could, Esper or Beast, they were all people to him. His training become much more rigorous and frequent until he achieved his current skill with Cryomancy and Martial Arts. He started out as a rumour and speculation, people barely mentioning him but being simply pushed to the side as a mere myth. Later in his life however, he took down an entire crime syndicate, albeit a small one, called the "Blue Kobra", on his own. Killing its, as he named them, "Dishonourable thugs and mercenaries who thrive off of others misery" and leaders along with freeing any hostages and slaves that were captured by them. He had then gained media attention, some labelling him as a saviour, others labelling him as a menace, some even gave him names like "Tundra", "Freezing Wind", "Sub-Zero", "Icy Hero", "Frosty Menace" etc. While taking some of the terms and names in his stride, he merely knew himself as a man who just wanted to help people regardless of who they are and he continues to this day. 

 

Personality: Randir was always called a kind and protective young boy, always helping others in need because it made him happy, usually his parents or his, at the time, present brother, but also people he barely knew as best as a little boy could that is, but it was what he wanted. This became part of his foundation as a Vigilante in his current time. He is always willing to put his own life at risk to save others, putting him in several tough scrapes before, but he always did the best he could to reduce life losses. While his Vigilante persona is well known, Randir himself isn't so much, so this allows him to be social and outgoing without recognition as the city's Icy Saviour/Menace, subject to opinion, often going out with friends and always voice chatting while playing video games. He is somewhat mentally scarred by his brothers disappearance and the violence and death he witnessed that made him who he is now, but he chooses not to show it to others, only expressing his feelings while training. In his Vigilante persona, he is much more serious and demonstrates his nobility more so than normal life. even judging his opponent harshly if needed. He wants to ensure that he is intimidating and feared by the lawless, even using intimidation tactics to re-enforce this aura he has. He does not show mercy to the criminal scum of the city and will kill them if the situation calls for it or leads to it. He is not without mercy or sympathy though. However, due to his powers, he has a tendency to make Ice-related Puns or statements, either in jest or as a threat.

 

Wants: To save and protect as many as he can, to discover what really happened to his brother and avenge him if need be, to find someone to make his successor after his death to continue what he started or to make a clan dedicated to protecting citizens from the problems the Law Enforcement just can't or won't solve. 

 

Problems: Can't refuse a cry for help, which can lead to disaster. He is not arrogant, but does underestimate his opponents on occasion, usually based on their appearance. Is very defensive of Beasts as he views all as equal, which has lead to excessive reactions from some, not all, or even fights between those who hate them or dislike his views.

 

Night, I prefer its serenity. (I'm also still rather new to RPing but I enjoy it so far. )

 He couldn't speak in his werewolf form, and he didn't want to transform into his human one just yet due to the fact that he'd be naked if he did, and that would be awkward for a first meeting. It'd happened before, he didn't want that to happen again. How strange would it be you met a dog and it turned into a naked guy? As hot as he was, he didn't feel the kid would appreciate it as much.

Strengths: able to change at will, the night is her calm, her guitar is her best friend, acting gives her confidence
 

Weaknesses: She isn't one to open up, very guarded, untalkative unless she's familiar with a person. All her hyper senses are diluted to an extent during the day.
 

Character Background: Artemis left her home at 15 after her father basically betrayed the whole family and turned in one of her siblings, accusing him of being a murderer. Only because her family was Beast except for her father who was only human. Her family went to shambles and the siblings that had enough sense left, some taking the younger ones with them. Artemis had her twin brother, Apollo (lol), when they fled but the city of Athanatos was far from a safe place, even for Espers and Beasts. Her brother was a victim, murdered in cold blood by his so-called friend. In turn, his friend was no more by the claws of Artemis. Since then, she's laid low unable to come to terms with her scrambled life until later, when riots became more and more frequent and people have been pointing fingers at the "freaks". From there, she became determined to get a life and turn things around to make people see that not all are the same. That people shouldn't paint everyone with the same brush. 

 

Personality: Artemis is a girl who tries to keep attention off herself. Despite the fact that she's snappy, brutally honest she does have a heart. And that is the reason why she tries to keep it behind a wall of steel and metal and anything else to protect herself from harm. Overall, if someone does manage to pass through that barrier, they would see a kind, uncertain girl who's only trying to have someone to reach out to and trust. 
 

Wants: someone to watch netflix with/love/unjudgemental of her. Also, spicy foods. She likes things hot [ ]
 

Problems: doesn't like anyone. Wish she didn't have feelings but she's actually nice so she cares when people are hurt. She doesn't want that so she ignores it.
