Judging from the new trailer, the HUD was minimally responsive, although it does incorporate the traditional command list 'Attack/たたかう, Magic/まほう, Item/アイテム, Summon/しょうかん'.
Throughout the game we see some dazzling moves such as flashy magics, transforming Keyblade and awesome combos....but how abouts will these come about?
We've also witnessed the free-flow mechanic from KH3D when Sora climbs the Rock titan as well as when he jumps from the walls of Twilight Town or when he slides on the Ice he creates with magic on the ground (anyone note that the hole that leads to the Haunted Mansion is now closed?)
It also looks like that Reaction Commands from KH2 or its evolved version the 'Cinematic Action' from FFXIII is more than likely to make a return (i.e. a cutscene plays and makes you push buttons).
What of the Card-sleight-break system from ReCoM? Perhaps that will make a return for a minigame? (Speculation)
And finally what is the fate of the Command Deck system which was used for KHBBS, KH3D and ReCoded? Perhap it might make a return but in a submenu??? But I doubt it given the presence of the Ex-bar and the MP-bar on the HUD. But in the trailer I noticed the MP bar doesn't drop when Sora uses magic.
I'm hoping the HUD is not final and that certain mechanics will change or be included. There is nothing more frustrating than running out MP mid battle.
The ability to change the Keyblade to certain objects seems to depends on the Keyblade that is Equipped - (go watch the trailers in Slow-motion and take note of the equipped keyblade)
Terra: My Keyblade tranforms into a Vehicle! Aqua: My Keyblade tranforms into a scooter! Ventus: My Keyblade tranforms into a Hoverboard! Xehanort: My Keyblade tranforms into a pair of wings!
Sora: MY KEYBLADE TRANSFORMS INTO A TEACUP WHEEEE! RIku: O_O
