Hey there everyone, how's it going!?  So then, as we are all very well aware, the hype for Kingdom Hearts III is at an all time sky high!  I mean seriously, good God, the hype is stronger now than it has ever been!  So then, with hype in mind, here's a topic so you can all think about!

 

You see, today I had this thought regarding Kingdom Hearts III's appearances at E3.  You know how Square revealed KHIII back in E3 2013?  Well, I've been thinking...Square has been slowly playing their hand with this neat little strategy, and this is what said strategy is, in my opinion!

• E3 2013: We get the reveal trailer.
• E3 2014: We get a teaser.
• E3 2015: We get a gameplay trailer.
• E3 2016: We could possibly get a story trailer.
• E3 2017: We could possibly get a release date trailer, and the release date would end up being for at least November or December of 2017, and hopefully, the game would release worldwide at the same day!

The last two are obviously just speculation, but think about it!  Slowly but surely, KHIII has been showed to us in small bits!  Just wait until we get the bigger picture!  Gahhh, just thinking about this gets my mind racing!  And if the game came out in 2017, it would make sense, since as I have said many times before, 2017 marks the Kingdom Hearts series 15th Anniversary, and what better way to celebrate than releasing Kingdom Hearts III?  And when you think about it, the development cycle for KHIII would have lodged in a four year period of 2013 to 2017!  As I said, this is all speculation, but I'm thinking that this is Square's strategy!

 

So, what do you think?  Is it possible that in the next two years we'll get said trailers I mentioned at E3?

 

Also worthy to note, we don't have to assume that KH3 won't show up in future E3's, considering that it's appeared in every E3 since 2013, so we should all keep our eyes on future E3's, God willing we're alive to see them, which I know we will!

I'm also willing to bet they'll release it next year in December. Most likely in Japan first and then late January/early February of 2017 for North America. The game will come sooner than you probably think.

I really think it will come out next year because they've already (explicitly) announced one world (three others where revealed but not technically "announced") and are planning to announce another soon. If you look at the past, since KH2 they started revealing worlds the year preceding the release.

I think their goal is to release in December 2016, based on the calendar in the E3 trailer. Nomura already said that they have finished selecting works and designing the gameplay, now they are working on details, so you know stuff like finishing up world detail, item detail, enemy detail, making the gameplay mechanics run as smoothly as possible, etc. They are further along that's probably anyone thought. They plan to Alice more Disney worlds "very" soon. The U.S. D23 is in August. Tokyo game show in September? Unchained X (Chi) for sure, they want it out this year. Maybe another world announcement. Then in November: the kingdom hearts event before D23 Japan? Kh3 sorry trailer with lots of worlds, potentially a release window (i.e. Fall, winter). Perhaps release dates for Unchained X if it isn't out yet. More trailers and info throughout the spring, with an official date abounded at E3 2016.

 

Based on the info given about their progress, they've done significantly more than what we've seen. They held back on announcing anything due to the engine change and it seems like they wanted to move everything over first and make progress instead of abounding things as they go along. Based on the info given by nomura at E3, I'd be astonished if it wasn't out by the end of 2016. And they've already done (at least some) English voices. I'm personally expecting either a worldwide release, or releases within a few days of each other for the various regions.

 

Square and nomura still have one wild card left though. The entire story has not yet been retold. KH3D is still only available on 3DS. Though at this rate, I see it being the kingdom hearts title for 2017 (Assuming nomura wants to keep a KH game coming out every year). And from that point on, I expect the spin offs to all be on mobile, releasing a new one every year between major games on consoles. Or he may take as break after doing 3D in hd.

 

Just some thoughts. I'm so hyped. I'm 21 and screamed like a small child when the trailer came on.

No way man. more like late winter 2016 and i think its also going to be a worldwide release with all localized version released simultaneously. 2017 is the year of FF7 remake since it coincides with the games 20th anniversary. The only reason they didnt show that much in 2014 was because they switched engines to unreal 4. Now that the engine switch is out of the way, Nomura and Osaka team have more room to maneuver in regards to what they can show off

Disney23 Japan is going to be Kingdom Hearts 3 central. Therefore, I think that we will be blown away by the reveal of Frozen (as it was hinted at) and Big Hero 6 (as a tribute to Japanese culture) as potential world as well as footage of a returning Disney world (I place my money on Agrabah).

I wouldn't necessarily say they've been working on it longer, just that they've made more progress than any of us expected, especially due to the lack of info. I think the lack of info was due purely to the change in game engine and their dedication to not show us junk. They want to make sure it looks pretty good before we see anything, hence why we didn't see any characters besides Sora, Donald, and Goofy in the Tangled world: they haven't finished with the details of Rapunzel's hair and don't want to show it unless it can live up to the standards they have set. It certainly helps with Nomura putting his full attention on the project!

 

Also, (I don't think anyone mentioned this) but the "FFXV is gonna come out first" rule no longer applies.

It would be really awesome if Kingdom Hearts III released simultaneously all around the globe!  That way, we wouldn't be spoiled by anyone playing the game since we'd all have it at the same time!

Oh yes, D23 will be quite the event to remember!  If Frozen is revealed, I really won't be surprised, since the movie is so popular. If a Big Hero 6 world is unveiled, I'm going to lose it!  And as for Agrabah returning, it's more than likely!
