Decrease on the Percentage of Worlds with Forests?

Posted

Hello guys, it has been a long time since I entered KH13 and commented or made any threads for many different reasons. However, it is good to be back now as an active member, especially after the release of the beautiful and beloved trailer of Kingdom Hearts III on E3 of 2015, which contained a lot of exciting events like the cutscene of Young Eraqus and Young Xehanort playing the chess and different gameplay in Tangled with different Keyblade transformations. In addition, the huge world of Olympus Coliseum and many others.

Now to the main point of the thread, so now as we know, both Tangled and Olympus Coliseum were confirmed on the trailer and since both of them contained forest or at least partially forests, doesn't that decreases the chances of having other worlds that are mostly full of forests like Jungle Book and Neverland?

I mean we do know that Nomura chooses his worlds carefully without making similarities between them to make each one of them unique on its way, wouldn't his choices of worlds currently make it hard for him to pick other Disney worlds that include forests or jungle? What do you guys think?

In KH BBS , Neverland , Enchanted Dominion , Castle Of Dreams and Dwarf Woodlands all had some sort of forest (explorable or not) . So I wouldn't rule out the possibility of another Disney world that includes a forest or a jungle being added in KH III .

Going off of what Nick said, I think it just depends on what they do with the forest. When Nomura mentions world categories, I think he is referring more to different aesthetics than a geographical checklist. Castle of Dreams and the Enchanted Dominion are in the same game and have forest areas, but you would never for once think that they were the same forest based on color and style alone.

For example, you have a forest from Tangled:

And then you have a forest from Pocahontas:

Both  worlds would have forest areas (though Pocahontas would predominately feature it), but their aesthetics are so different that KH3 could get away with having two "forest-themed" worlds. This is a really good question, and we should always keep it in mind when we're thinking of world selection.

They didn't look that heavily forested, and I wouldn't count on there not being any forest specific worlds like Jungle Book or Pocahontas just because Tangled is in it. Also, knowing the movie Hercules, all we saw were a few trees and the rest of the world is mostly cliffs, cities, and clouds.

Wasn't a Jungle Book world cut from BbS? Chances are they could bring that up again. Robin Hood, Pocahontas and more Winnie the Pooh could also be used.

Less chance for Brother Bear, Brave, and Robin Hood.

But Pocahontas might have still a good chance cause it's magical.

The thing is, the forest in Dwarf Woodlands against Enchanted Dominion was aesthetically different enough to be distinct. Sleeping Beauty's world is based on tapestry whilst Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs had a regular forest.

For Kingdom Hearts 3, Olympus did not have a forest... it was just grasslands. Tangled had the forest.

Hercules was just shown grasslands and it was most likely a very small portion of the world too so i really doubt that has any effect in actual jungle worlds getting considered.

Tangled had a forest and it's so aesthetically different, again i can't see how that will effect an actual jungle world to be reconsidered.

Nomura states that worlds that cannot make it to previous games get priority for the next game. For instance, Pranksters Paradise was in Dream Drop Distance, because, it wasn't able to fit into 358/2 Days and just was not able to be implemented in Birth By Sleep. So, Jungle Book has a very high probability.

I don't know if this counts, but I did recall Arendelle having forests as well. Don't flame me just pointing it out.
