YouTube's New Video Player Interface

Agreed. It's the first change YouTube has implemented in a long, long time that I legit enjoy.

Actually, I'd have to disagree. I love this change, but the cards (the i button at the top right of the video that suggests videos or other things) were also a good fit! They work on mobile and they aren't at all intrusive like annotations. That's just coming from an avid YouTube user and creator though.

I literally never knew those were there until you pointed it out and I checked it on my phone. It's nice, I guess, but pretty superfluous for me (I'm only a user, not a creator, to be fair). The new video player is immediately better- it seems to load things a lot faster and the loading bar disappears a lot faster, but that's just what I've noticed.

Happened during a video...thought I clicked something by accident.

I think it looks kinda cheap, mainly because it looks like a lot of other, inferior players

but

that's not exactly anywhere close to,say

making it so you can't reply to nearly a decade of comments just to push Google+

I still have the old one... when does it update?

EDIT: Updated on mine too
