Posted August 20, 201510 yr After it was destroyed in KH1,where did all the people end up? We don't see them in Traverse Town
August 20, 201510 yr They probably vanished with their world. I like to think that when a world is destroyed, it's kind of just like falling asleep and then waking up. To the inhabitants of the world, it was kind of like a flash or as if they blinked and missed the entire thing. Of course, that's just what I like to think and is in no way confirmed to be what actually happens. I mean, when Kairi was asking about Riku and Sora in KH2, Selphie didn't know what happened to Riku and didn't seem aware of anything happening the year prior, then again neither did Kairi until Sora was put back into her memory. It's quite the mystery that may never have an official answer.
August 20, 201510 yr I don't think there's an official answer, but generally people go to a place like Traverse Town. As we saw in DDD, Traverse Town is bigger than just three districts (though that might be a sleeping version of the world), so the inhabitants could have ended up somewhere else in TT.
August 20, 201510 yr Oh my friends but there is! Nomura: Finally, about the people on Destiny Island, at the time of Sora and groups disappearance, on the night of the storm from the previous game, Destiny Island itself ended up disappearing and for the people of that world time is stopped. Afterwards, Sora slept for 1 year, and then everyone's memories of Sora himself were no longer there. As such the memory actually became "On the night of the storm, Riku's body disappeared". Once Sora awoke, the memories of him returned. Eventually the memories of Sora, just as Riku was no longer there after the storm that night, were that both of them had disappeared. (footnote: However, Kairi alone was once assimilated into Sora's heart. In this edition "Kingdom Hearts II" I strongly feel that he was influenced by this.
August 20, 201510 yr When a world is destroyed, the world itself and the inhabitants fall asleep, and time don't pass through them, as we were told in 3D. If someone manages to escape the destruction of its homeworld, he goes to a ''Safe World'' like Traverse Town. That's where Sora ended up, and many other characters like the 101 dalmatians or the people of District 1 are said to have appeared there after their world was destroyed. If the world is restored, those people return back to their home, like how Kairi appeared out of nowhere after the final battle in the place where Destiny Island was being restored
August 20, 201510 yr Why did Sora Riku and Kairi end up somewhere else but the others didn't? Because they're the main characters and Nomura makes mistakes since KH1? I mean it's kinda odd that those 3 are the only ones who ended up somewhere else. Edited August 20, 201510 yr by Felixx

How did Sora escape the destruction though? I thought everyone got sucked into that huge black ball of darkness besides Kairi and Riku
August 20, 201510 yr That is the most confusing thing I've read in a while Oh I see! How did Sora escape the destruction though? I thought everyone got sucked into that huge black ball of darkness besides Kairi and Riku It's not that confusing. He's saying the world fell into sleep when it fell to darkness. All of the surviving inhabitants still left in DI were basically 'frozen in time' in a sense. That's why Sora and Riku were sent back to DI right as it fell to darkness so they could enter the realm of sleep. Some when this happened where scattered elsewhere and that's where places like Traverse Town come into play. I'm sure some inhabitants could've lost their hearts from the invading heartless too. He's just saying the majority of the residents were basically 'asleep'. Edited August 20, 201510 yr by Flaming Lea

August 20, 201510 yr The thing that is unclear How does someone, 'esape' the destruction of a world? Storyline dictates it so Plus other people from other fallen worlds were also scattered out places so it's not like the trio was an anomoly per se .
August 20, 201510 yr The thing that is unclear How does someone, 'esape' the destruction of a world? Simple: you just gotta be a Beast. The way I like to think of it is that the Heartless are just really messy eaters, and sometimes they miss a few. The population of Traverse Town is testament to that.
August 20, 201510 yr The thing that is unclear How does someone, 'esape' the destruction of a world? It probably has to do with having a strong heart. Most peoples' hearts are generally weak, so they all were just destroyed. In cases like Sora, however, his heart was strong enough to avoid destruction after getting eaten by the dark vortex thing.
