To Settle The Whole KH3D Not Getting A Final Mix Debate!

Posted

Hey there everyone, how's it going!?  So then, as the title of this topic implies, I'm going to discuss the fact of Kingdom Hearts 3D not getting a Final Mix.

The truth of the matter is, there was never going to be a Final Mix for KH3D to begin with!  I specifically remember Nomura saying in one of his interviews that he didn't have any plans on making a Final Mix version of KH3D.  Unfortunately, I don't have Flaming Lea's talents for instantly quoting Nomura-san's quotes and whatnot, but yeah, if she sees this, I'm sure she'll back up what I'm saying! :P (And if it turns out I'm wrong about all this, then I'm going to look like quite the dumb dumb. xD)

But yeah, honestly, I'm fine with KH3D not having a Final Mix, since the game already has quite a lot going for it anyway!  I'm so psyched to play it on the PS4 I'll soon be owning! X3

I don't know why everybody wants one so bad. If there's any kind of Final Mix equivalent, odds are it'll be in 2.8 since Famitsu implied they might add some things to DDDHD.

Yeah, because honestly, KH3D stands well on its own without a Final Mix.  And oh yeah, I remember reading about that here, and I heard Cynical from TheGamer'sJoint mention it in one of his latest videos!  I'm guessing that any new content added to 3D will be little things, or perhaps maybe another secret boss and some additional scenes?

Pleasure to be of service. I think you are referring to this quote. Also I'm sure any new added material will be in 2.8 if anything. He doesn't say it can never happen but stated at that time he had no plans for it. He said the same thing about  -A Fragmentary Passage- and now look ;)

  • Now, is there a possibility you will make a KH3D Final Mix title?

I don’t know what might happen in the years to come, but as of now there are no plans. The Osaka Development Team have several titles on their hands, so it’s not the right time for that.

but i think the typical counter argument people have for that reasoning is that nomura said something similar when asked about a Final Mix for Birth By Sleep and then that came out the January following BBS's international release. I'm personally fine with not having a Final Mix version of 3D. Typically the Final Mix versions add more to the story in some way but I think  3D is already bursting at the seams with story so trying to pack anything else in there would have been too much.

This is totally true but the impending release of 2.8 changes this counter arguments validity. Since they are remaking DDD for this it would only make sense to add any extra and new material to this. What would be the point of releasing DDD for a third time as a final mix version outside of 2.8? Why waste the money and time to do this and would it be worth the expense compared to just adding that content to 2.8? If 2.8 didn't exist then it would make more sense.

In fairness, Kingdom Hearts HD is the least anticipated title out of the collection (which is ironic, because, it was the most anticipated before the reveal)

Thats what happens. People say they want it, and now they don't want it.

Ah, there we go!  Thanks, Lea, I knew that I had read about this somewhere before! :D  Haha, and you're right!  At this point, anything could happen now! xD

Well, we'll see what happens. :3

Honestly, I'm all up for KH3D for the PS4, I'm super hyped for it, just as I'm super hyped for X Back Cover and A Fragmentary Passage! :D

That's people for ya! X3

I'm glad it's you finally setting the record. Besides, HD3D is a close as we will get to a KH3DFM anyway. Not only that, but making a KH3DFM will be obsolete since KH3 is the priority and we already know the story hands down.

Indeed, indeed!  And, if any new additions are to be made, as Flaming Lea has stated, then doing the additions for 2.8 would be more than enough! :D
