The Legend of Zelda: Wrath of the Dark Fairy (Roleplay)

Posted

"Those low-lives think we're meant to be trapped in jars....I'll show them! By ridding this entire land to nothing but fairies! And I will be the Queen! Queen and ruler of all fairies!"

Those were the words of the Dark Fairy, revealing her viscous plot. Peace had been going on in Hyrule until she rose up. And the Dark Fairy has been causing nothing but trouble and havoc in order to get her revenge on all other creatures....Especially Hylians.

Monsters have been appearing more rapidly, lands are being cursed with dark magic....This has gone long enough.

Princess Zelda was facing the window in the throne room with a look of worry. This conflict has to end somehow. Something must be done. There was only one way to stop this madness. She nodded to herself and quickly got pieces of paper, Royal Designed envelopes exclusive to Royalty, and a pen. She wrote down in each of the notes:

"Dear Warrior, I ask you desperately for help. A being known as the Dark Fairy has been causing nothing but destruction and havoc across Hyrule. If this goes on any longer, who knows what will happen....Please, I ask you! Come quickly to the Hyrule Castle where you will find me. The guards will let you through once you show them this letter. Other warriors will be joining you. I hope you will work together and get along well. I'll expect your arrivals.

From, Princess Zelda"

After writing these, she picked up the envelopes,  walked towards the open window, and let the wind blow them away, where they will find the warriors that will go on the journey...

Irisviel rolled her eyes.

"No, nitwit. But...thank you. For your concern." She turned her back haughtily, and resumed following the group.

Looking at Zora's Domain, she sighed.

"More water. Let's hope I don't get ambushed yet again..."

Rabiyu was looking around for any sign of troubles, then her eyes stopped with Irisviel."Agreed." She said. "It seems we have a tendency to be attacked as of late"The Ranger then resumed her scouting."But such is the life of an adventurer. Monsters of every type and size."

Sara was a bit concerned once the group reached a river. Their first destination, and she would already be faced with trying to swim. In her case, it would probably be more like trying not to drown. Thankfully, it looked like there was another path to Zora's Domain. She sighed in relief, but then Irisviel and Rabiyu brought up the potential for another monster ambush. "As long as we all stay close together, we should be safe. We did well with defeating those Octoroks back at the lake." Sara pointed out, hoping to lighten the mood. She didn't need the thought of a surprise attack scaring her, especially after Rabiyu mentioned other types of monsters. She knew she could handle Octoroks, but bigger, smarter enemies might be a problem. She quickly followed Nora up the slope, and looked around the river and the waterfall. Everything looked safe so far...

~Back in Lon Lon Ranch~

"Hmm..." Malon made a curious look at Kai. Something was on her mind. "Kai. Why do I have the feeling you have something else to show me?" She asked. Kai couldn't help but snicker. She already knew, but she didn't know what "it" was. He put his hat back on and reached into his pocket. In his right hand was the letter that Zelda sent. "Take a look at it." He handed the note Malon, who was very curious on what it had inside. She opened the note and read. It didn't take her long to be very surprised by her expression. It didn't take Kai long to laugh at her expression. "Y-You got to meet P-P-Princess Zelda!? THE Princess Zelda!?"

"Hah hah! I knew you would be surprised!" He responded. "Kai...I'm so happy for you! Tee Hee! What was she like? Elegant? Graceful? Kind? Beautiful?" She just kept asking and asking, eager to know more about the Princess of Hyrule. Zelda was like her idol. She just adored her. She would have loved to meet her in person. Kai chuckled at her excitement. "She was nice to meet. But she wasn't as pretty as you." Malon couldn't hold back her pink cheeks from appearing ever so brightly. "Kai, stop it! You're making me blush! Hee Hee!" She said. "But...It said you had to go off and stop this Dark Fairy..." Her tone changed to a more concerned tone. "Don't worry. I'll be fine. In fact, it's part of the reason why I came."

"What do you mean?" She asked.

"Well...I was thinking...How would you like to come with us?" He then said. "Wha-Me? Could I do that? Really?" She said with amazement. "Well, there's no rule against it. Plus, you can really snipe somebody with a bow and arrow. You'd fit right in!" He said, ever so positive. "Kai, I would love to but...What about the ranch?" She said, facing the ground with a concerned look. "I can't just leave here...I mean...Well, who will-" A nudge was felt from behind her. She turned her head to see Epona, pushing her forward with her hand. "If you ask me, I think Epona wants you to go." Kai said. "...Is that true, Epona?" Malon asked. Epona neighed in response. "She also says that she'll take your place in the ranch. Seems like she agrees." Kai said, understanding Epona. Malon raised her head and thought for a bit. Could a girl like her really go on this adventure? She couldn't leave the ranch like this. But this chance comes once in a lifetime. Plus, she might, just might, meet Zelda! This chance...Was too good to pass up. She turned around to face Kai with a smile. "I've always wanted to see Hyrule at its fullest...Kai. I'll go get ready! I'm going!" She then hugged her boyfriend, signaling she would indeed come along. She then walked over to Epona and kneeled down. "Take care of the ranch while I'm gone, okay? I'm counting on you my beloved horse." She said, rubbing Epona's head with her hand. Malon stood up and ran to her house to pack. Kai meanwhile jumped up in excitement.

"YAAAAHOOO!"

~Zora's River~

Nora froze as she heard an echo of a young child's voice. It was certainly unmistakably that Kokiri boy. "Was that who I think it was?" She asked everyone while moving forward, jumping from grassy hill to grassy hill. Princess Aqua was right behind her, balancing on the hills with the Zora Pearl on her head. "If your guess is as accurate as mine, I believe so. I must admit, he can be quite loud." She said while jumping her way across towards the waterfall.

"That will make a big difference." Rabiyu answered to Sara. "It's like people say. There is safety in numbers."The Ranger was jumping from hill to hill, like she had done it before, when she was moving among the tree tops back in the Lost Woods. She made it look almost effortless."That boy has a healthy set of lungs if the sound managed to reach us here."

Nox jumped from Irisviel's shadow to Rabiyu's.

"Remind me not to take Kai on any stealth missions." She said sourly to the Ranger.

The imp glanced up at Rabiyu.

"So, you seem to have known a lot of important people at important times. Any interaction with the fairy we're after?"

"He keeps making that much noise he'l attract monsters towards us, and possibly lead us to our deaths in doing so." Maxwell said with a sigh and a shrug,

Seeing the others speaking to one another, it was the perfect time to...stay silent, he stood silent for the moment, and kept on following the princess of Zora's, every so often checking the surroundings, regardless if the place seemed safe or not.

"I good point to take into consideration."

Rabiyu said to the small Imp hiding in her shadow.

"Not really." She answered. "I've met a few fairies in my lifetime."

As Rabiyu said that, she began to count with her fingers.

"Navi, Tatl and her brother, Tael. Ciela, Leaf and Neri. Epheremelda, Felicia and Proxi. Never spoke with them for more than a few hours...maybe?...but I doubt they are who we are looking for. It would be impossible for a few of them to be this fairy."

The Ranger then glanced at her own shadow where she could feel the presence of the Twili.

"I like to think that I was at the right place at the right time. But such is the prerogative of my duty." She said with a hint of amusement. "Of course, said duty comes with a few...privileges."

Pixi raised an eyebrow at Rabiyu after she said "privileges". The curious humanoid fairy flew to the ranger, flying next to her.

"What do you mean by, "privileges" if I may ask, being a fairy myself?" She said.

"You are a curious one, Pixi"

Rabiyu said with a small smile on her lips.

"I'm not allowed to speak of such thing."

The Ranger said calmly.

"My oath prevents me from speaking of such things." She said. "Don't take it personal. People can obtain that knowledge, but I cannot share it with them. If you want to know then you have to look."

  • Author

"Then once all of this is over, look I shall do." She said, still curious about the "privileges." In only a matter of time, after one more leap, they all made it to the large, gray door. The one way to go inside the domain. "Looks like our destination is just before us. Shall we knock?" Nora said.

"It won't be that simple." Aqua said. "My people won't open up these doors unless a certain song is played. One only known by the Royal Family." She explain. "Oh, I see. The little lullaby Princess Zelda taught us." Pixi put her hands on her hips. "Should've seen this coming."

"Hmm...My memory is a bit foggy on how the song went. My apologies. Does anyone remember?" Nora said.

"I do" Rabiyu answered. "Please allow me"

Although she knew that the door to the Domain was meant to be opened with just the ancestral melody of the ancient Goddess, Rabiyu felt the need to do something she hadn't done in a long time, she began to sing the lyrics of Her song. She knew that the song was partially lost. What the current Princess knew was just a fragment of

a whole, a fragment of her own lost past.   Hail to Her grace   Our great Goddess   March forward   Restore this world’s order Hail Hylia   Give us Courage Teach Wisdom   Bless us with Power   Brave warrior   Hero through Time   From here, your journey begins   Her sword in your hands Her song in your heart   May you bring light to this land Take to the skies Receive her blessing Raise your sword to the gods, skyward   Your time has come   Our great hero   With your light   Unite both the Earth and Skies

As the last note was played the Ranger put the harp inside her cloak."I played the whole thing instead of just the fragment the Princess knows." She said. "I hope the door can be opened with that or I will have to play the short version."

Rabiyu then turned around to look at the Zora Princess.

"Will that suffice?" She asked the Pricess.

The large door then suddenly spilt into two and opened up the entrance after Rabiyu played the full song. Aqua made a bright smile, seeing the door open up. "That was amazing! My greatest thanks to you, Rabiyu. I couldn't be any happier." Aqua said, walking inside. Nora was astonished by the ranger's performance. She knew the full song, music and lyrics. It was so much more than what Zelda played. "That was truly outstanding. I wonder what other secrets and surprises you have in store." She said before walking in. "Well, either way, the door's open folks. Come on!" Pixi said, flying inside.

~Zora's Domain~

"Fellow warriors...Welcome to the Zora's Domain." Princess Aqua said, introducing them to her home. The place was very big and wide. Large bodies of water filled with Zoras swimming in them were just on the left side of the rocky land the group was standing on. A waterfall was pouring into the pool with Zoras diving in with it. Looking forward, there seemed to be a stairway leading upward where the King of Zoras would be at. "Woah...This place is huge." Pixi said, looking around.

In the pool, some Zoras were starting to look at the people that had just arrived. There was one particular person that they first saw.

"Is that...?" One male voice said.

"It is. It really is!" A female voice said.

"Pincess Aqua has returned!"

"The Princess is alright!"

"Thank goodness she's alive!"

"She's come back!"

One male Zora jumped out of the water and stood in front of the group. "Princess Aqua! You have returned in good health. We are all very grateful of that." He said

"It's very refreshing to finally come back to the home of my people." She said. Aqua turned around to the others. "I truly thank these warriors for helping me get back safely. I'm truly grateful to have almost all of you by me side." Nora bowed to Princess Aqua in response. "It was our pleasure, your highness." She then stood back up, happy that they were able to complete their mission. But the fact that one of them wasn't here yet bothered her...

Nox was starting to worry about Rabiyu. Her knowledge and her convenient oath made her more a mystery. And in Nox's experience, mysteries were just messes she had to clean up later.

Putting that aside for now, the Imp watched the actions of the Zora with suspicion. There was a million ways this could go wrong, and she was going to be ready for it. Already, she felt Kai's absence was a bit too long.

"Hey!" She called from Rabiyu's shadow. "Anyone want to help me check on Kai? The kid's been playing hooky for long enough."

"Anyone want to help me check on Kai? The kid's been playing hooky for long enough."

Pixi then turned to Nox once she mentioned Kai. Yes, the Kokiri has been gone for the longest time. It was finally time to actually see what he's been doing. "I'll go with you, Nox. Kai's my little partner and I guess I'm responsible for him." Pixi said, flying over Rabiyu's shadow. "C'mon, let's go."

"Why look for someone when that someone is here?" A familiar voice said from behind the group. Pixi's face lit up with relief. "Kai! You're finally back!" She flew towards the boy with green clothes and hugged him. Kai was smiling as well, but Pixi's smile soon diminished once she remembered how long it's been. She quickly flew back and looked at Kai with a stern look and her hands on her hips. "Do you know how long it's been!? We could've been in serious danger and you weren't here! How could you?" She rambled. Kai made a nervous look and rubbed the back of his head. "Sorry Pixi...I didn't think it would take this long."

Pixi was about to say more, but then she noticed someone new. A red haired girl that was next to Kai. She was too busy looking around the place and being amazed by the atmosphere. "Wow...." Pixi flew over to the girl with a look of concern. "Um...She wasn't before so...Kai? Who is this?" She asked. "OH, um..."

"Huh? Oh, hi! My name's Malon. You must be Kai's fairy. It's nice to meet you!" She said kindly. Pixi gasped and flew back. She was certainly astonished that she actually knew Kai's name at all. "Okay. I can tell that she is not Kokiri. Kai! Explanation. Now."

"Alright, alright." Kai then walked over to Malon, standing next to her. He then faced the others. "So, everyone. This is Malon from Lon Lon Ranch. She'll be joining us on our adventure. Also...She's my....She's my uh..." Kai still rubbed the back of his head in nervousness. For him, it was tough enough to just get the word out! "She's my..." Malon then kissed Kai on the cheek, which made him blush and made her giggle. "She's my girlfriend." He finally said.

Sara followed the others into Zora's Domain, amazed by Rabiyu's knowledge of Zelda's song. She still wished she had some way to play the song like the others did, but settling for listening to their music was good enough for her. The spectacle of the giant cavern filled with rocks and pools also entranced Sara. Since leaving her quaint home, she'd seen all sorts of amazing landscapes. This was one that stood out to her more than most of the others, though. It made her wonder about what other types of caves could hold such massive places filled with creatures such as Zora. She was a bit surprised by Kai's sudden return, especially given the new girl who was with him. Of course, his explanation of who she was helped her to understand. To be honest, she didn't quite understand romance. Spending most of her life with only her brother made her oblivious when it came to all sorts of relationships. Kai and Malon seemed to be happy, though, and that's what mattered. "It is nice to meet you, Malon." She smiled as she greeted the young girl. "I am Sara."

"Count me in too." Rabiyu said to Nox. "He is taking his time with this mysterious thing he had to do."Rabiyu was getting ready to leave once again when the young Kokiri's voice was heard."Oh? It seems that it won't be necessary."The Ranger was slowly eyeing the new girl that came with Kai. Her face was slightly familiar, someone from a few centuries ago, perhaps? She wasn't really paying that much attention to them, but instead was focused on the Zoras, more specifically their Princess."Hello Kai's girlfriend, Malon." Rabiyu said while turning around. "My name is Rabiyu, a pleasure to meet you."Rabiyu then focused solely on Princess Aqua."I don't mean to ruin the lovely atmosphere, Princess." She said to the Aqua. "But I think we have more important matters in our hands. Like Lake Hylia for example."

Nora felt a small bit of relief at seeing the Kokiri boy alright. Pixi was correct, he had been gone for quite a while. His embarrassment was quite adorable. "It is nice to meet you, miss Malon. I am Nora Paulson. You may call me Nora. How long have you known Kai?" Rabiyu was right, they really needed to move on. Things would likely get even more dangerous from here, so it was even more important to get to know everyone very well.

"Well...Hee hee!" She giggled. "We've know each other since we were 5, then we started having a relationship for 3 years now. Today's our anniversary!" She said with a smile.

"Wait....WHAT!?" Pixi was as shocked as ever. Her eyes were wide opened, staring at the two kids. She slowly flew closer. Her eyes were still very wide and big.

"....K-Kai?" She then said. "Yes Pixi?" He responded. Sounding slightly nervous.

"You didn't tell me about this....FOR 3 WHOLE YEARS!!??" Kai jumped as a reaction to her sudden explosion in Pixi's voice. He was barely shaking. "Umm....Well....Yeah, you could say that." He then said, looking down and twiddling his fingers. ".....Unbelievable. Is there anything else you want to tell me that I don't know about?" She said with her hands on her hips. "Nope. This is the only thing." He said. Pixi was making careful eye contact on the Kokiri. "I'm keeping a better eye on you. When were you going to tell me about this?"

"Today." He then said. "Right...." Pixi wasn't mad that Kai had a girlfriend. Not one bit. She was mad because she didn't know about it for 3 years. 3 years.

Princess Aqua didn't know what to expect. Was there any conflict between the boy and his fairy? She wondered, but now wasn't the time to wonder. She then faced Rabiyu. "Um...Anyways..." She began to say. "Of course. My father, the king, is just upstairs. Come on, follow me." She said, already going up for the others to follow.

"Yeah...I think its best we follow the princess guys, we have matters to atend to..." Maxwell said as he began to follow the Princess, he was surprised though, he didn't think a boy his age would have a girlfriend...even though he still had his whole life in front of him, and he'd surely face hardships, he was happy that the boy was still innocent and happy with his life.

Irisviel looked between Kai, Pixi, and Malon.

"...so the drama." She walked past them towards the Princess. 'Let's get this going..."

Nora was slightly confused about how Kai, a boy who really didn't seem like the secrets type, had managed to keep this from his constant companion for three days, let alone three years, but that could wait. "It looks like it's time to go." The knight pointed out to there conversing team mates. Then she followed the Princess up the stairs.

  • Author

"Come on Kai! Let's get going too." Malon said to him. "Okay, okay." He responded. The couple then followed the others and the Princess while Pixi was in the back mumbling about Kai's secret. "Keeping me from a girlfriend he's had for 3 freaking years, why I outta..." was some of what she said.
"Here we are." Aqua said, showing the group to the Zora Throne Room. Two torches were on each side to where the warriors were standing. A rather large Zora was sitting on at the edge of a ledge, looking down at the newcomers. "Aqua? Aqua, is that you?" The large Zora said. "Father!" Princess Aqua ran up the stairs and hugged her father. She hasn't seen anyone here in quite a while, so she was enjoying this moment. "Everyone, this is my father King Zora." She said, introducing the King.
"I am over joyed that my daughter is safe. Thank you for bringing her back home." He said.

"He must have been here for a long time." Kai whispered to Pixi. "For once, I agree with you." Pixi whispered back.

"Sorry for the sudden rush, your Majesty." Rabiyu said with a small bow. "I'm Rabiyu, appointed ranger of the Lost Woods. I just want to say that we are not in a place were we can afford to waste much time."The Ranger looked around at her companions before she stopped with the King once again."As you may know, a dark force is threatening Hyrule again. One such force is hidden in the temple in Lake Hylia."Rabiyu scratched her cheek."And we were wondering if there is a way to get into that temple."

  • Author

The King of Zoras nodded to Rabiyu. "Hmm...Yes, the infamous Dark Fairy. Those Octoroks have been nothing but trouble to our Domain."

"Father? What happened while I was gone?" Aqua asked. "...The Octoroks managed to break into the Domain. We were successful to hold them back, but I'm not sure how much longer we can keep this up." He next said. "We'll help you out, your majesty!" Kai said. "After all, the Octorok-Pocolypse is connected to the Dark Fairy. Once we can enter the temple, the problem will be fixed!" The King took a moment to think. The entrance in Lake Hylia was currently unavailable. However...

"There is a way for you to enter. Behind me is the door where it leads to Zora's Fountain, where Lord Jabu-Jabu once laid. There is another way to enter the temple through there." He said.
