He used a time machine to go through time. He did not go through the process of leaving behind one's body. He skirts around the laws of time travel because his father Lewis or Cornelius created the machine. He probably does not add much.

He has a time machine right? (It's been a while since I've seen the movie.)

I think they wouldn't include that in KH3, or else they would create another plothole.

I mean this way every one could travel in time, without any further restrictions.

I agree. The machine could circumvent the laws of time travel(ha!) that DDD put down. The ability to do that and actually alter history (which he did in the movie) could impact the KH3 story, though I think it would be more likely that Wilbur would appear and help Sora prevent a dark future then changing the past we've already seen.

they probably wouldn't bring it up....it'd be a smart thing to do unless they wanted to add a third method of time travel to this series

These Disney characters musn't add anything or they'll make KH a relatively bad game in my opinion.

I honestly don't know who this guy is, and I don't really care, but whatever it is that he does, it'll just influence his world and those belonging to it, which can't change KH's main plot at all.

Sadly I have to break your conditions and say that he would be confined to his own world, as Time Travel would seem to work differently in that world from how traditional KH-based time travel is supposed to work. Kind of like how Merlin's door was a "special door" that led to the past of Disney Castle, it can be said that there are lesser or alternate forms of time travel that have different rules to them, but many of them might be constrained to their own world. Like any time traveling in a Meet the Robinsons world be confined to that world, Sora couldn't just hop in a time machine and explore the other worlds in their different points in time. If anything, it might be possible that if Sora came to that world, it would already be in the future and it would only take place in that future, the story could still work that way (starts with Lewis entering Todayland, ends with Lewis leaving Todayland, no following necessary), so the future of that world would be the present day of the KH universe. And even if there was TT involved with that world, it's likely the world would recognize that Sora is an outsider and won't let him leave the world until he returns to the point in time he entered in.

Well, characters like Flora, Fauna and Merryweather were introduced outside of their home world so it wouldn't be a first, and besides, obscure characters were able to make it into the Kingdom Hearts franchise (like Julius for instance). But I suppose you're right in the respect that, to prevent further complications to time travel rules that he doesn't get featured at all, or, be confined to his own world.

That seems like a reasonable reason to add him into the plot

Surprisingly, I agree. I hated Meet the Robinsons, it was too fast paced and random for my liking.

Well for one thing they weren't likened to time travel, only Merlin was, they were likely just helping in creating another space for Lea to train in while Merlin likely provided the time magic. And obscure characters like Julius or other such characters are an entirely separate matter altogether. Julius wasn't brought about through time travel, he's just sort of there. They don't impact the flow of the story in any significant way. A character like Wilbur wouldn't be just any random character tossed into a world for the sake of "why not?". He's a crucial plot element to his story, so he would not appear anywhere else if not a Meet the Robinsons world. You may as well have never had Agrabah in KH but had the Genie randomly show up out of nowhere in Traverse Town. It just doesn't work as well. Even when they place random characters in different worlds other than their own, there's still thought put into them being there in the first place.

And for the record I like Meet the Robinsons. It was a nice decently paced movie with plenty of laughs. Also, can never go wrong with comedic villains.
