Yeah I guess so. The bright side is FFXV will be out next year and since Dissidia will be out for the PS4 in 2017, maybe then they can add him.

OH MY GOD, YES, THIS TRAILER WAS FAN-FLIPPING-TASTIC!  

 

I've loved the Dissidia series ever since the first one came out, and this new Dissidia definitely looks like it'll be the best entry yet!  It's a bummer we have to wait till 2017 to play it, but hey, I'll be willing to wait if it means we'll get even more characters than in Duodecim!  I'm all up for it!

Okay... I'm as excited for this game as the next guy, but I can't just sit here praising them when they've only shown two new characters so far, especially when we haven't even seen one of them in action. I know they can add more in to the game in future updates leading up to the PS4 release, but really, they need more than just the 13 heroes of Cosmos + Y'shtola. We haven't even seen a villain in action yet... I'm not going to get more excited until we see more new characters. The trailer was cool and all, but at least announce another character, Square.

I feel that's its safe to say all 012 Chars will make it in. exepct maybe Feral Chaos

I wonder what other characters will make it into the game?  I'm hoping Vincent Valentine, Zack Fair, Rubicante, Edge, Rydia, Caius Ballad, Cid Raines, Snow Villiers and Xande appear as playable characters!  The more characters the game gains over time, the better! X_X

My guess is that the final version (PS4 not arcade) will have more characters. After all there are a few from Dissidia 012 alone that are missing like Tifa, Laguna, etc. I do see what you mean though, the villians should get just as much screen time as the heroes. After all that was kinda the point of Dissidia to begin with. I really hope they add more new characters besides Y'shtola. No doubt they will though, personally I'd love Dagger to be playable

They've already confirmed it. That Tactics character for one. The PS4 version's going to be their big 30th anniversary title after all.

I completely forgot Ramza was added to be honest, a good addition to the roster though. If it is going to be their big 30th anniversary title then I really hope they give us the most diverse line-up yet. Even within the I-XIV games, the addition of more characters from spin-offs and of course the upcoming XV would be very much welcomed.

I'm sure they'll add more, but they should be showing those new characters now instead of showing the same old 13 heroes with one new character. There are a lot of characters I'd love to see join in, but so far, we've only seen two new characters, one of which was just given concept art. To give a comparison, Smash 4 showed new characters consistently after its reveal, while it's been at least 6 months since this game's reveal and we haven't really been given anything to get excited over since April. The lack of any villain gameplay is also really disappointing. I didn't play as villains often (Gilgamesh being the only one I played as all that much), but they should be showing them. Like you said, the original games were about the whole fight between Cosmos and Chaos. Even if they're getting rid of that part of the plot this time around, good vs evil was a major theme in the first two games. We're only seeing heroes in gameplay trailers this time around.

This all makes me wonder just what Square will cook up for a story for the console version of Dissidia!  Since this is a reboot of sorts, I'm guessing that the whole Cosmos vs. Chaos saga might be scrapped for something else, but what could it possibly be?  Or maybe we'll be witness to an all new struggle of light vs. darkness? It still remains to be seen just exactly what will happen!
