Fan event proves that there should be another Halloweentown movie

Posted

This proves that there is a lot of support and interest from an audience in another Halloweentown movie (provided that Kimberly J. Brown is Marnie of course): "5,000 people usually turn up here at the busiest time of year - in July. Tonight (Oct. 10), there were 10,000 people"

There is so much that they could do with the series were they to continue the story. They were actually supposed to do a 5th, titled Halloweentown: She's the Witch, which would have wrapped up the series with Marnie becoming a fully powered witch and tying up the plot of the amulet at the end of the 4th. The mega successes of Maleficent and Frozen have proven that the fantasy genre (especially that with a female protagonist) is still popular. Kimberly and the cast being older actually works well for the story too considering the audience that grew up with the movies is around the same age now too. That tactic has worked for Girl Meets World, which successfully brought back both the old audience who grew up with Boy Meets World as well as a new audience, both groups of which enjoy the old and new cast and elements featured in the show. That show is now probably the most successful currently on Disney Channel and arguably one of its most popular sitcoms in history. The same kind of success could happen with Halloweentown should they choose to pursue it.

I dunno, it's been almost 10 years since the last one. And personally, I'd rather they finally finish of Kal. He vowed to come back after all and when an enemy vows that, they mean it.

Those movies weren't perfect, but they were some of the most decent stuff that Disney Channel ever produced in it's live-action department. I guess it wouldn't be too bad if the series got one more movie to wrap things up, for closure's sake. Plus, I will admit that those movies were the first thing I thought about every time we got a chance to go to DisneyLand during October, because they always had that giant Mickey Jack-O-Lantern in the middle of Main Street Square. It felt like a nice mix of Halloweentown and Nightmare Before Christmas. <3

That did not stop Toy Story 3, Girl Meets World, Life Size 2 (another Disney channel movie sequel even longer after its original with Tyra Banks still i the role), and of course the movie coming out this Dec. 18. As you say they need to finish off Kal and doing another movie with the points that I have said along with this idea would be the perfect way to go about doing it

Of course another idea would be to see this series appear in Kingdom Hearts with those same elements. I'd love for it to happen and even made a petition for it to happen a while back: https://www.change.org/p/disney-square-enix-put-the-halloweentown-disney-channel-movies-in-kingdom-hearts

I think we need to accept that it isn't happening. The reason he never got Haloweentown 5 is because both actresses turned down the role, they clearly want no part of it. And if Disney really wanted to do it, they'd have found someone else and dome it by now. At this point, Haloweentown 5 is about as likely as Twitches 3.

Now THAT...I wouldn't see happening at all. Sorry to say, but it would be really redundant after already having a literal "Halloween Town" as a veteran world already. It'd just be kind of aesthetically confusing to have a Halloweentown that's not Halloween Town in the game, and as fun and interesting as the movies where, I don't think they were really as epic and dynamic as most of the theatrical Disney movies tend to be. Remember, there is a huge difference between Theatrical Disney and Disney Channel. One's budget dwarfs the other, and one typically makes more money than the other (save for the odd teen-centric musical every now and then). And Kuno might be right, ultimately the will has to come from the studio and actors/actresses themselves in order to make it happen. Fan-fuel is one component but on it's own it's not enough, everyone in charge of making it happen has to be interested in it as well. And if they aren't, well, they aren't. It's sad to say, but unless someone on Disney Channel really wants to make it happen it might not ever happen. And this is just for Disney Channel movies in general, I doubt we'll ever see any of those movies be in Kingdom Hearts, typically Square and Disney go for the big money makers, or at least the ones that would make the story more interesting and varied. But who knows, stranger things have happened. We do have a Marvel movie in there, even if it is the most Disney-looking. Really we just have to sit back and see how things go.

Exactly. Oh, and Big Hero 6 isn't a Marvel movie. It was based on a Marvel comic, but it's a completely separate thing.

It's so far the only Marvel-Disney colab that had the best chance of getting in this game. Just let me have this. T_T"

That would be awesome, but I don't see it happening.

if they can get all of the original cast back together, do it

Eh....a 5th film would be kinda cool. A lot of sequels come out years after the others, and do fine.

Plus Kal did swear to come back, and the necklace from part 4 is still kicking around...a few loose ends could be tied up.

If it was done well, and they got a few old cast members back, a 5th Halloween Town outing would be pretty nice to see.

Halloweentown 1 and 2 are my favorite Halloweentown High was okay but Return to Halloweentown was the worst one for me.
