Posted November 10, 20159 yr My grandma just told me today that on GMA (Good Morning America, for those that don't know) they revealed that Winnie the Pooh is a girl. Don't believe me? November 10, 20159 yr I mean, the real bear that the children's book character was based on was female. That seems unbelievably irrelevant, but I guess it's neat trivia...?

November 10, 20159 yr O.O Oh my.... This is almost as shocking as the fact that Hello Kitty isn't a cat!!
November 10, 20159 yr There's actually a long running tv spot in Canada called Heritage Moments, and the story of the real Winnie the Pooh is pretty well known up here (or, at least it was, as I haven't seen Heritage Moments in a while).
November 10, 20159 yr You... Didn't know? Did you not read the books as a child? Cus the author wrote like a whole introduction about how the bear got its name. Christopher Robin used to have a Swan called Pooh, but I think it got too manky or something after a while which is apt considering its name And then he got a bear that was called Edward bear, but shortly afterwards Christopher Robin went to the zoo and saw a black bear called winnie (I think it was short for winnipeg, which may be where the bear was from) and the rest is history. But winnie -ther - pooh (no mistake that's how Christopher Robin emphasised it) is most definitely a boy. Cos EDWARD bear. This may or may not be in chronological order christ I need a life

November 10, 20159 yr Author Fair do's I guess (It was mainly due to the fact that i only knew Winnie the Pooh through a toy i had of him and watching television shows featuring him.) Edited November 10, 20159 yr by PrincessHearts25
November 10, 20159 yr The real bear Pooh is based on was female, but I don't think the character really had a sex. It's just assumed he was male, but it's more like he's an IT: sex doesn't really apply to any of the Pooh characters except Kanga. Edited November 10, 20159 yr by Jack Vladimir Frost
