Well, I was thinking. We do have certain people who do tend to harass other people on threads, or sometimes post pointlessly on a serious topic. In order to decrease arguing on threads, especially if someone has a grudge with another person, what if there was an option in which we could post a thread, and have then option to "block" certain people from viewing it?

I agree with this notion.

I SAY NAY. Because what if the block was abused and also THEY ALREADY HAVE THIS. The mods just don't tell you. Look up a thread that was removed and not deleted. You are blocked from it, I most definitely think. Trust me, if they let the populus command page visits then DC would flip.

Thats true. I mean, what if it was someone blocked a thread from the Mods? Then what? Bad idea.

The threads that are removed are different.. NOBODY can post when a thread is removed, and that wasn't my idea in the first place..

I'm pretty sure that would be close to impossible. The site staff would have control over everything, no matter what.

Now, I recently consulted with a friend, and they said that this idea would not be fair. I agree with this, but this idea can still be put on the table. Because certain people ruin threads, its just the truth.

No. Honestly, I mean, why would you block someone on the thread?

Solution: Report.

Just report the post to the mods, and they'll take care of it, warn the member, and remove the post. Just don't add to it by responding to the poster.

Easy as that [:

Well, now that you say so, it sounds more appealing. Maybe they should be able to see it, but they can't post. That would be a better idea...

I don't think it would be fair.

Some people may just block others for the hell of it.

I think that would be helpful in some threads, but it would get seriously confusing. Like Hinako said, some people would probably just do it for the heck of it. plus I'd be blocked from answering a thread ever again :

yeah, that pretty much says it all.

we've told you guys a million times to simply report the person to us about the problem and we'll fix to the best of our intentions. people will only abuse this "blocking" option if we ever use it.

report = problem solved. easy as that.

I agree with the unfair part, but I just thought being able to block people from trolling on your threads by yourself would be an easier way to solve problems, but reporting is for the best.

I think this idea would be helpful for some threads to block trolls on here and also the report button would work, but it would be slower if no mods were on or admins

My idea is, if you block someone, they are allowed to post in your threads, but their posts won't show up for you. That way, you won't have to read what they write.

I dunno how that would work though...or if it's even possible to do that. ._.

Or you could suck it up, and just ignore their posts. That works too.

The words have been taken from my mouth. ._.

Just Report if you have any problems, or ask a Staff Member like myself, the mods and the admins and the other Project Managers.

I don't even think this is possible. Probably have to get someone to make a mod for it.

You're not a staff member, Sora? Sure, you manage projects, but you don't manage the people of this forum?

Like.

Yeah like everyone said, its an okay idea, but reporting the post does pretty much the same thing, with no extra problems involved
