Nintendo Confirms They'll Still Make Games For Wii U

Featured Replies

Whew. With Xenoblade Chronicles X coming out really soon, that should help support this claim. They would've just waited for the NX otherwise. (Though if you ask me, there is a good chance that Xenoblade Chronicles X will also be on the Nintendo NX in some way.) Thanks, Nintendo! :D

If they're not abandoning the Wii U, they better improve the VC srevice and get some 3rd party.

Good, cause I don't want the Wii U experience to end yet. I honestly really like my Wii U and if they give support to it to make it last, then that would be great! I love playing Smash Bros on the Wii U as my main Wii U title, and I am looking forward to Star Fox Zero and Pokken in Q1 next year! I think if they can make the NX be its own thing but let the Wii U also survive, then that would be just fine! :)

Well it's not like Sony just abandoned the PS3 as soon as the PS4 was released from the gates. It's been around for 2 years and it's only until recently that companies, studios, and dev teams are starting to move on from the PS3. I think the Wii U still has plenty of mileage left in it before the NX completely replaces it. At the very least it will make for a good HD Nintendo experience if anyone is looking to collect all the Gen 7 consoles...even though it's technically a Gen 8 console...maybe I'd consider it a Gen 7.5 or something, since it's kind of a step between the HD era and "Super HD era".

We really need to start naming these newer eras already, saying 7th Gen and 8th Gen is just kinda boring ya know?

I'm rambling, I'm going to stop...

As if! >X)

They had to say this also because they did abandon their previous consoles (maybe handhelds too unless I count BW2) the moment they went on the next gen, video game-wise. In other fields such as online support, they didn't abandon it instantaneously.

That's like Sony saying they're making PS3 and Vita games. Haha.

Yeah I agree. The Wii U still has ways to go before it truly dies just like with the PS3. But from what Nintendo has said, it seems like there will be games that will go multiplatform for both Wii U and the NX.

Yeah lol.
