As I suspected, Yasuhisa Izumisawa is Art Director for World of Final Fantasy. Izumisawa has in the past worked on the Crystal Chronicles series and Pictlogica Final Fantasy. Looking back even further she had smaller roles on Final Fantasy IX & X.

Haven't even heard of Pictologica. After a quick Google search, it led to disappointment. Square seriously loves their Japan exclusives.

Yeah, pretty much.

No wonder why the Chibi designs are similiar to Pictlogica Final Fantasy's Character Design.
