Think that might have something to do with gay couples being more private for obvious reasons but if I made a graph like that I would have included all.

Homesexuals likely wouldn't be open about how they met their partners in the 40's since prior to the 60's it was illegal to be gay. It would be bad statistics as the number of openly gay couples would increase from the 60's until now.
