Posted March 3, 20169 yr Today, we found out that Bill Farmer said that he has been saying that he has been working on the voices for Kingdom Hearts 3 and in this video I talk about it some. Edited March 3, 20169 yr by Sportsmaster5
March 3, 20169 yr I think what you mean is "don't RELY on voice actors". Because the way you put it, you're making them sound like liars or idiots. Voice acting can happen sporadically, sure, but they don't necessarily always voice all of the actors at the same time in the same session. If anything, it's likely that Bill Farmer HAS in fact finished his work for Goofy in KH3, but that doesn't mean that other actors are finished yet. They could still be working on it themselves. My point here is that while yes, I agree that the game is still in an early stage at the moment and it is likely that it isn't ready to come out yet, I don't think a few mistakes from Bill Farmer are enough grounds to go and tell everyone to "Don't trust the voice actors!". Because for one thing, voice actors are people. Many tend to be under NDAs but a few can occasionally slip up, and I feel that Bill is being honest with himself here. Just because he's mistaken in the progress of a game that he doesn't personally get to oversee that much doesn't mean that he is necessarily mistaken or "untrustworthy" of his own role in the game. What should be said here is to take what you hear from voice actors with a grain of salt. Actually think about what they are saying. From day one I could tell that when Bill said that he was done with KH3 he was speaking mostly about his role as Goofy, and based on the timing of the original mistake me and others could tell that he might have been mistaken in KH3's overall progress. Now does that discredit him from all future tidbits and news entirely? No, not really. Does it show that we should look into what is said a little more before jumping to any conclusions? Yes, yes it does, but at no fault to anyone else. It should be a no-brainer to anyone that voice actors have limited knowledge and involvement when it comes to the overall progress of a game, so I really don't think there is any need to label voice actors as misleading. It feels to me about as equivalent as dubbing a fan a liar just because he has a really good feeling that Unchained X will release in the next month or something. We should be skeptical with anything we hear to some small degree, but quite honestly I'm fairly convinced that Farmer is done with his work. Does that automatically mean that I think KH3 is in the final stages? Heck no, unless I start seeing and hearing round the clock announcements from other KH VA claiming the same thing and trailers suddenly start popping up and more details towards more of the game are released THEN I will believe it is in the final stages. But I'm sure that at least Bill is finished, as far as I'm concerned I have no reason to doubt that.
March 3, 20169 yr You have the same Google Chrome Theme as me It might just a rumor, it's dry season so there's no news about the game so far, there's where rumors start to enter to the community's doors. Because there's no news about the game and it's just like a little trap for making the community guilable again, so, this isn't worth trusting or just don't believe in it.

But I'm sure that at least Bill is finished, as far as I'm concerned I have no reason to doubt that. I made this video more of a warning to people who start out and see that, "oh this man says he's done with the VA for goofy, wow that must mean the game is almost done". Maybe I should of more said take it with a grain of salt, but so far what we've gotten from VA's in this game series is that they don't completely know or are given the knowledge to where these lines are actually going. These lines that he has been doing could be for trailers, or for 2.8 we have no idea and from what we can tell they don't either. In other game series say for like Uncharted since that is a game series a straight for 1, 2, 3 numbered game series, when a VA says yea I've been working on the next one it is more likely to assume that they are talking about for sure the 4th game in the series. With KH it's different since there have been a miltitude of different games that the person doing the voice might not be correct in the game that they are recording for, I said that I don't think they are lying I said that they might be misinformed or just flat out might not know and are just guessing. I also was basically saying "don't rely on them", I just used a stronger term for it as in "don't trust" since we have already had a situation in which Bill Farmer was misinformed, I was not meaning to say they were liars or idiots. I'm sorry if you found my statements to be disrespecting towards him, but that is not what I intended I just wanted to get the attention of people who are gullible toward everything they hear even if it's most likely or has a decent chance of being false.

Well he's been very adamant about how he is sure that the title in question is "Kingdom Hearts III", so I don't see any reason to doubt that. It's the only game that would have a significant need for Goofy dialogue, since DDD already has voice work in it, Back Cover doesn't even focus on Sora and the team, and 0.2 is largely focusing on Mickey and Aqua, so 2.8 shouldn't even be a consideration. All logic points to this being KH3, it just seems ridiculous to me to think he would be talking about anything else, there's not that many other possibilities left at this point, unless Unchained X is unexpectedly supposed to have voice work, which it isn't. I still understand what you are going for here, I just guess I felt a bit sensitive to it since Bill Farmer hasn't done anything wrong beyond a few mistakes. My biggest fight against it is the fact that KH3 is at most maybe 50% done and probably no where near done with cutscenes or the story, and he says that he finished lines for the game a while back and expected the game to be released in 2015. When Cummings explained how they made and recorded the voices by having to compare to the flaps of the Japanese version of the games it basically says that they had to see the character actually moving and talking, yet KH3 would of had no way been in the phase for this because I'm pretty sure all the cutscenes for the game were not done back in the beginning of 2015 or even now and to of also had the entire Japenese version of the game done too would be pretty crazy. Maybe they did all the cutscenes first, but from what I know voice acting is done near to last and it would be strange if it's not. You have the same Google Chrome Theme as me It might just a rumor, it's dry season so there's no news about the game so far, there's where rumors start to enter to the community's doors. Yea it's most likely a rumor, I just don't want everyone to believe everything that they see.

While it may have been true with previous entries that cutscenes and voice acting was traditionally done last, there's still a pretty good chance that in this case it may have been started as one of the earlier phases. I recall them saying that the story was one of the first things that they were working on and that it was a pretty considerable amount done by the time they started gameplay development, so I don't think it's too far a stretch to think that they may have focused on getting story, scenes, and voice work done before hand, once they finally got basic modeling and ground work taken care of, which was about a year or so back if I'm remembering correctly. Either way I feel that the chances of what came first are a little too 50/50 for me to assume that this is being handled same old same old.

Welp, in the end like almost any discussion or argument whatever you want to call it on the internet, it is pointless and neither of us can prove either side of the point and in the end it doesn't matter because it won't change anything. I made this video to not slander anyone, I just made it to ward gullible people of from believing everything they see, maybe I came on a little strong with it but I just wanted to get my point across. Nonetheless we both love the series and that's all that matters nice talking to you and have a good day!

Either way I hope KH3 continues to steadily near perfection and that we hear some huge news soon, particularly relating to the English version of Unchained X.
Today, we found out that Bill Farmer said that he has been saying that he has been working on the voices for Kingdom Hearts 3 and in this video I talk about it some.
