We saw in a E3 2015 KH3 trailer that Sora has a new outfit and Keyblade. Here are my thoughts how is he going obtain it.

Quick recap: In order to stop Xehanort we need 7 Guardians of Light. Sora, Kairi, Riku, Terra, Ventus, Aqua and Mickey + Lea (Will replace Terra I think.)

So, again. In order to wake Ventus up we need his heart which is in Sora. And to get to Ventus we need Aqua.

In Kingdom Hearts 1, during the storm Sora obtains the Keyblade because Riku's heart is too dark and because of Ventus' heart in Sora.

I think, in KH3 once we find Ventus, they will have to extract Ventus' heart from Sora and that will result Sora losing his power to wield a Keyblade. Aqua (because she is a Master now) and Yen Sid will make Sora to wield Keyblade again but not Kingdom Key but the new one in KH3 trailer and getting this new outfit.

Well, that's it.

What are your thoughts about how Sora will get his new outfit? :)

Please stop spouting misinformation.

You do not need to be bequeathed to spawn a keyblade and again Ventus has nothing to do with Sora being able to use a keyblade.Nomura said it himself that the only thing Ventus gave Sora was the ability to dual wield.

That bit about their merged hearts being another inheritance cemermony is huge misinformation.I have no idea where you got that from.

Sora never went through any type of inheritance ceremony.

As quoted from Nomura

So it's not "Once Sora's story is finished, another hero's story will begin", the hero is always Sora.

Nomura: Yes. One of the concepts behind the KH series is that the main character Sora isn't special, he's just a normal boy. Yes he does have connections with Ventus' heart, among others, but he hasn't inherited anything from them

The only real requirement to wielding a keyblade is a strong heart. It's why Sora could wield the Kingdom key without going through a inheritance cemermony. If Sora didn't have Ven's heart inside him he would still would have received the keyblade at Destiny Islands because at that moment his heart was stronger than Riku's.

In the end it's the keyblade that chooses its master.

I disagree. We'll just have to wait for KH3 to see I guess.

We don't quite know yet. He says "I came here to learn how to wield one", not "I came here to learn how to spawn one" or something like that, which most likely means that he did not have the ability to wield one before he arrived, so I think either Yen Sid or Mickey most likely bequeathed him and then he went into training with Yen Sid or something to try and get it to materialize. But yeah, as of currently, we don't know much about it. It was sort of meant to be a cliffhanger for the next game.

i think your theories are starting to fall apart a bit. where are you getting this information from. please link something.

So you disagree with something NOMURA HIMSELF established and confirmed. WOW.

There's nothing to link. As I said, there's not much information about Lea and his Keyblade. It was at the end of Dream Drop Distance, so we know very little about it. I was just stating my opinion on the matter.

Am I not allowed to disagree with something? I'm sorry that I have a different opinion than you, there's nothing I can do about it. Also, it's not what Nomura is saying that I disagree with. I disagree with how you guys interpreted what Nomura was saying. He says that Sora hasn't inherited anything from Ventus' heart. That can mean many things, because Sora absolutely did inherit the ability to dual wield from Ventus' heart. It all just matters on what you think of the word "inherit".

But like I said, I have my opinion, and you guys have yours. So much information will be revealed in KH3, so something that any of us think can be completely proven incorrect, who knows? For now, to each their own.

I think Sora's outfit will just be a new wardrobe change, ya know?  Either it be that he purchases said outfit or Yen Sid supplies him with it has yet to be seen!  As for that new Keyblade, it's probably one of the many that will be available in the game, ya know?  Because come on, Sora and the Kingdom Key are an iconic combo, ya know? So I doubt he'd lose the Kingdom Key! :D

as for the links i would have taken anything so long as it backed up all of what you've been saying in this thread.

and i don't know what you expect KH3 to do for this discussion other than show Sora using a keyblade after Ventus is awake. I mean i seriously doubt they're going to take a break to explain the how and why of Sora's keyblade, especially considering the other far more important plot points that need to be addressed. At this point I'm gonna say Nomura is leaving things as they are. He confirmed Sora gained nothing from Ven except for the dual wielding ability and that's where he left it.

It seems everything else is pure speculation.

I expect Kingdom Hearts III to answer all unanswered questions so far and clear any confusion about any topics. It is the final game in the Dark Seekers Saga, so I expect it to fully complete the story and lore from the Dark Seeker Saga. Not sure if it will do this or not, but that's what I expect, and I think it's perfectly reasonable to expect that from the last game in a saga.
