Character models in Disney Magic Kingdoms reminiscent of Kingdom Hearts

Posted

I couldn't help but notice that the character model of Maleficent in this trailer for the mobile game Disney Magic Kingdom seemed to be copied and pasted exactly from Kingdom Hearts. The rest of the character models also look like they would have came from Kingdom Hearts, or at least from the Kingdom Hearts Ds or iOS games with the same model lighting and texture.

I like how they use Happy Little Working Song as the music here. Something about it just fits. ;)

And I guess, but I didn't really see that they came from KH personally.

I actually think its Enchanted Suite as the middle sounds more like That's How You Know and the other songs in the movie than (just) Happy working Song

she looks a bit more squashed in this game. i don't think it's the same model.

Well I just heard the one song, but still, it is nice how they used Enchanted out of all the choices they could have done.

They kind of do...mostly, the graphics are squashed down for mobil play, but it does look like Coded Maleficent a lot.

I want to play this game

I can just flat out say: no, those are not the same models. Not even compressed low poly versions. I do like Mickeys eggbeater hands though xD

Nah, not really. They look very much built in-game, from the textures all the way down to the shapes they are made out of. It's only similar to KH in the level of accuracy and detail that they put into making each character resemble their original appearance from their respective movies. Nothing really screams "Kingdom Hearts!" to me here.

They look like completely different and new models in my opinion.

It's embarrassing how this version of Mickey looks more appealing than his 0.2 counterpart...
