Kingdom hearts II.8 wasn't released solely on the PS4 because of the touch gimmick; Square just had no interest in RELEASING II.8 on Xbox.

Then why is KHIII being released on the PS4 and Xbox One?

Edited by VisitJoan

aren't they considering putting 1.5 and 2.5 onto Xbox? wouldn't they likely consider putting 2.8 onto Xbox? also what was recently shown to just be touch related for 2.8? did I miss something or what?

Actually

—Putting KH Dream Drop Distance HD (hereon KHD3D), a game that was originally on two screens, onto one screen required input changes, didn't it?

"There was a lot of trial and error involved in that remake, for sure. Perfect examples are the Link System and Reality Shift, which required touch and drag controls on the bottom screen, but these have been changed to different controls, such as simultaneous button presses.

At first, we had plans to use the DUALSHOCK 4 touchpad too, but after consideration, we settled with button controls."

I ask myself that question every night...the only answer might be money.

They never said that they are going to release 1.5 or 2.5 on Xbox, they said they might consider it. Nothing was shown to use the touchpad.

I don't think Square had no interest is the Xbox, otherwise they would not be putting Kingdom Hearts III on the Xbox 1.  I think it is because, as Square-Enix has said, they want all of their past games to be available on one platform.  So, since I.5 and II.5 were not on Xbox, they decided not to put II.8 on Xbox either.  However, maybe they will eventually decide to put all the games on Xbox as well.  We will just have to wait and see.

i was referring to why 2.8 is being released solely on PS4.

But you said square has no interest in the Xbox. If that's true, wouldn't that apply no matter what game they're releasing?

Again, I was referring to their LACK OF INTEREST TO RELEASE 2.8 ON XBOX THANKS.

Square(Nomura) was interested but need to stay on Playstation as HD Collection.

Besides I think the touchpad is needed.

Nah, they've already solved the issue with the 3DS's touchpad; it's all configured into the buttons.
