There are Technos, those who wish to create technology. Anthros, those who want to connect with Earth itself. The Medivals, those who focus more on the Dark Ages. And The Citys, which treat each culture equally and experiment by combining them in unique ways. But soon...A great evil is about to arise...The same evil that came in the past...And I assume you all want to hear the tale that will be told...The story of how an unlikely team...Allies...Friends...Came together and saved the world while facing hardships, discoveries, and regrets...This is the story...The Legend...The myth of how...In the City of Aquila...Where classmates joined together to explore the world never tamed....

A building that was the size of a Skyscraper stood alongside buildings of unthinkable height. People came and went on their normal lives, playing on their phones, trying to get to work on time, and of course, kids playing around on the sidewalk.

With everything that was happening outside, it was a very important day for some at the Aquilia Combat School. (The building that was as tall as a skyscraper)

In one room, many students, roughly 30-35 students, talked and roamed around Room 408, a class that specializes in offensive and defensive skills. One student wore a Red Mage outfit with a black feather instead of the traditional white feather. Her body was laid back in her desk, with her feet crossed and resting on top of her desk. Her hands were behind her head and her hat covered her eyes. Sure, the class was bit loud, but it didn't bother her. She was used to it.

"Today's the big day!" A female student said.

"I'm a bit nervous...I-I don't know if I'll do well..." A male student said.

"Hey, cheer up! We're all doing this together you know. We'll be by your side and help you out." A male student said with a higher-pitched voice.

"Hah! Don't make me laugh." Another female student suddenly said. She looked to be about 17, given her appearance and height. Her hair was long and blonde and her clothes were more on a rebel styled attire. A smirk was on her face as she overheard the recent conversation. She leaned on the side of the wall with her arms crossed and her eyes closed. "You low-lives won't even remember how to punch once you get there. Unlike me, you don't stand a chance." She said with a very confident, yet rude tone.

"Says the garbage bagged girl." The Red Mage said. The classroom giggled a bit at her comment. The Rebel clothed girl growled at the Red Mage and opened her mean eyes. "Shut it, Solisa. Once I'm through with you, you'll be "Sol-Loser"." The Rebel responded.

"Wow...." The Red Mage replied. "That pun was as outdated as your clothing. Not-To-Be-Sold." The class bursts into laughter. The Red Mage wasn't afraid of this cocky-bully. "Why you little...!" The Rebel then walked to the Red Mage's desk and slammed her hands on the Red Mage's desk. "Listen, you peeping pipsqueak. I'm trying not to get in trouble today. So shut up or else I'll pound you before the exam even starts! Got it!?"

"....That's it? You'll pound me? Sheesh, for trying to be a good student I'm glad you ain't an angel Sara."

"SHUT UP!!" Sara yelled out with rage. "Don't make me come back, you Mage maggot." With that, she took a deep breath and walked back to her spot, leaning against the wall and crossed her arms.

"Yes!" Elsa exclaimed happily, pumping her fist happily and feeling a confident smile come to her face. Then she sent several bones at the NightLights, hoping that would defeat them once and for all.

Aaron sighed in disbelief at Solisa's observation.

"Ah, really? You mean I can't touch them the way I am now? I don't even know any useful magic!"
He pouted a little, as his eyes dimmed to his normal hue, green in disappointment. He obviously couldn't show off here. He had no firearms or cool black magic or anything useful where he could get more than five feet away. And Masamune was only so long.

"Fine, lead the way!" he said, watching Elsa's bones fire away. That power was so cool...

…Deep down he appreciated his comrade's efforts in taking out these monsters…

Kelon shook his head, mentally sighing in his head. He folded his arms behind his back as he looked at what Sara did with a stern look on his face. He could sense the arrogance coming from her, and that was something that had to be prevented eventually. He was also keeping an eye on everyone to try to protect them from their own weaknesses. His duty was very important to carry out, the exam was no exception. Sara's behavior did make him feel uneasy, thinking that something bad may be at hand.

Laz was a bit stunned at first when they all returned to the entrance, but quickly recovered.  A lot of dungeons have traps and old curses like these, she thought and mentally slapped herself over her recklessness, can't believe I forgot all that!  C'mon Laz, you can do better than this; you're the best treasure hunter after all!  Don't throw all that away now.  When Solisa said her theory outloud, the Anthros understood. Ah, I get it. Well then, now's the time to be serious.

As quietly as possible, Laz snuck around her teammates and lurked in the shadows.  While she could see the Night Lights because of their giant flashlights, they couldn't see her, which was perfect.  Getting on the ground, she crawled over to where two of them stood off on their own, still oblivious to her.  Once she was behind them, she whispered the Thunder spell to destroy their lights.  Now blind and helpless, Laz took one of her daggers and slit their throats, making sure that they were dead afterwards.  Seeing that they were, the bluenette got up and saw Elsa's summons blow three more of the Night Lights up.  Yes, we got five of 'em!  So there's just one more, right?  But I don't see it...

"What the... When did you get here, Laz?" Elsa asked the bluenette, wondering how she had gotten there. But that didn't matter right now. All that she wanted to know was where the last NightLight went. She looked around carefully, the Gaster Blasters waiting patiently for their master's command.

Kelon had noticed some Mus in front of him, and he looked at them sternly. He studied them as he kept looking at them with a stern look on his face. He had faced Mus before elsewhere, but this time, they were in the labyrinth. He didn't have time to be fighting against them, he had to act quickly. He raises his hand, and let loose some Fire and Blizzard spells towards each of the Mus.

Team 2

The Mus attempted to jump, dodging Kelon's spells. Although, one had been hit by the Blizzard spell. The Mu hit against the grassy wall with a piece of ice stuck to the side of its body and fell to the ground, being wounded. The other 2 Mus landed in front of the team once again. One of them dashed at Anton and used it's Tail attack while the other went toward Millicent and attempted to bite her arm.

Aaron felt like fighting, and was beat that he couldn't, but wasn't content to sit useless. He kept a careful eye on his teammates, or at least as much as Solisa's flame could reveal to him. He had a look of deep thought, analyzing them and seemingly formulating billions of scenarios in seconds! Laz's stealth seemed to have its practical use, and Elsa's Blasters intrigued him highly. There were many special circumstances they would prove useful... But he needed to observe them more to confirm.

Now, it was Grace and Solisa that he was yet to see battle. But with one more Night Light left....

Anton heard the sound as well. "So that's what that sound was..." Anton read about these creatures once, but never encountered them before.

He let out an heavy sigh, and was angered by Sara's arrogance, but he shortly calmed down. She got no idea what teamwork truly means...oh well, it is better than nothing, I suppose...

When a Mu attempted to strike Anton with its tail, he jumped backwards in order to dodge the attack.

From what I read, these creatures are rather weak...should be easy to handle them without wasting any magic on them. I wonder if it can use a spells that I can learn.  If it does, It will have to use it, sooner or later. Might be useful for this exam later on.

Anton used Goblin Punch, a spell that does damage based on the equipped weapon and doesn't have any cost. He hoped he can defeat the Mu just by using it.

Grace had her weapon ready as looks at Solisa with a determined look on her face and said. "You're ready for this, Solisa?" She smiled at her. (hopefully this is the last one...) she thought while waiting Solisa to answer.

Solisa looked at her best friend and grinned with a wink. "I've been born ready. Let's get him." She responded.

Team 2

The Mu got hit by the Goblin Punch, falling to the ground and fading away, indicating that it has been defeated. Sara meanwhile kicked away a Mu over the hedge. She dusted her hands and straightened her hair. "Weak." She commented.

Grace nodded and charged towards the NightLight. She slashed it with her spear and used blizzard at it. She gets away from it and looks at Solisa. "Your turn!" She said.

Elsa kept her guard up and saw the last NightLight, which Grace had just weakened. "There you are..." She muttered under her breath. The Gaster Blasters went after the NightLight and surrounded it completely, shooting their lasers at the creature. Elsa flipped her hair a bit, feeling quite proud about the victory.

Aaron watched the events unfold, with Grace's spectacular display of close combat and magic together... And obviously a flexible team member.
Solisa's turn came up, but... Elsa decided to swoop in to finish it!

That was... Unexpected. With Solisa having no show of skill that Aaron had seen, he couldn't plan ahead for her. He didn't think Solisa would be too happy about that... She was ready to blast one of the Night Lights off, and he could sense her pride, too. Not only that, but Elsa.... Something seemed to be unfolding in her personality. She wasn't the same girl that he'd seen on the ship and in class...

But then again
Neither was he...

"Guys!" Aaron sprinted to each of them, offering his hand for help. "Great job, all of you! Keep it up!" He grinned, then added with a wink "I'm pretty lucky to have all you ladies cover my useless back!" Aaron kicked back his head and bellowed a laugh, gripping his hood as he did.

Willow caught up with her group right as Anton and Sara dispatched the Mus. The farmgirl began to get flustered.
"You could at least try to wait, Sara," Willow said, catching a quick breath. "We're supposed to be a team!"

Johnny looked over the arena, watching the students as they made their way through their respective labyrinths.
"So, Ms. Genka, am I to be judging them too? Is my grading going to be considered, or is an assistant's opinion not worthy?" Johnny asked before his attention diverted over to Solisa's team. Elsa, the summoner girl, had just taken out one of the Nightlights and was seemingly celebrating the kill.
"Keep the celebration to yourself, young one. You're on the battlefield now," Johnny scoffed to himself. As much as he hated to admit it, he saw a lot of who he used to be in these kids, most of all when they were proud of their own abilities. Had Johnny only known what his own pride ended up doing...

Maybe he wouldn't be here now.

Elsa looked over at the boy and smiled softly at him, saying, "Hey, it's okay. I still think you're pretty cool, Aaron. And Solisa, i'm really sorry for doing that to you. I couldn't wait any longer for this to be over, so i finished the job for ya. I hope you didn't mind..." Why did i have to do that? That was really stupid of me. I shouldn't be so damn reckless..., she thought sadly, though her expression didn't change and she kept smiling even if it felt fake.

Millicent barely dodged out of the way of the Mu's attack. Even though I already have battlefield experience, it's mostly as a medic... Even if these aren't too tough, I'll have to be careful; combat's not my strong spot. The woman reminded herself as she drew her staff upwards. It wasn't terribly powerful, but it could do some damage. She swung it downwards at the Mu, hoping to at least daze it so it could be finished off.

Solisa sighed, then shot a grin at Elsa. "It's a'right. We've got other chances to show off anyways. Heh heh!" She said sounding cheerful. Sure, she was a bit disappointed that she couldn't punch anything, but she couldn't blame this Summoner. Her powers were too dope to be kept in. "Now since that little problem is out of the way, let's stick together this time and light up those candles so we can get on to the next room. Can't wait what they gonna do there!" She said still smiling. She seemed more focused on going to the next section just for the fun of it. Pass or not, she just cared about having a good time.

Team 2

The Mu that Millicent knocked down laid there for a moment. It then shook it's head and growled at the White Mage. The Mu turned around and ran to the injured Mu that was shot by Kelon's Blizzard. It kept growling at the team, protecting its ally. Sara pushed through the crowd to get a closer look.

"....Let me handle this. Don't interfere." She said more sternly. The blonde slowly walked towards the two Mus. The protective one growled louder as Sara got closer. But it didn't frighten her. She raised one finger to her mouth and shushed it. She then whispered:

"It's alright. Don't be afraid. I just want to help you."  If anyone could hear it, Sara's voice sounded a lot more gentle and slightly kinder than her usual voice tone.

The Watch Room

Watching two screens in a "Control Room" like location, Ms. Genka chuckled at Johnny's question. "Your opinions I may agree or deny, but it's better to say what you think than say nothing at all." Ms. Genka said. Her head then faced Team 2's screen. "Oh? Looks like someone's showing a compassionate side."

Elsa felt a little better about how Solisa reacted and replied, "Y-Yeah! Let's light up those candles!" I'm so glad that she wasn't angry at me. Now i can relax about this..., she thought, feeling at least relieved that the mage didn't snap at her. She turned to look at her Gaster Blasters and said, "Hehe, you can go now, guys. I'll summon you when i need help, okay?" The creatures nodded and disappeared, listening to their master's command.

Aaron was relieved with the fact that Elsa and Solisa remained cool with each other. A smile crept across his face, then he approached Grace and Laz. They didn't seem hurt, but he decided it would be best to check on the ladies.

"Hmmmm..." Aaron's thoughts swirled around his mind, as if in a frantic frenzy of a school of fish. The girls were truly amazing, all weilding such powerful magic. He'd never known many magic spells, and the one he did know was hilariously weak, a Thunder that couldn't even spark an outlet. Regardless, he admire the girls for working through the first trial

Glancing towards Grace, then to Laz Aaron stated "Alright, we're done here! Let's find those candles. "

Grace chuckled quietly as Elsa and Solisa remained cool with each other. She noticed that Aaron is glaring at her and then, at Laz. (why is he staring at me and Laz?..) she thought while feeling nervous a bit. "Ummm. Right." She said.

Kelon looked on at what Sara was doing, not sure what she was doing. He was wondering why she was talking to the Mu, although he could sense something. He didn't want to say anything that could end up ruining something. He folded his arms as he kept watching. He was hoping that Sara's arrogant attitude wouldn't ruin things.

Millicent was shocked to see the Mu run over to one of its injured comrades. I suppose that gets its attention off of me... She thought to herself, trying to avoid feeling guilty for hurting the beast. She saw Sara try to take over the situation, and while she couldn't hear what the girl was saying, she seemed to be acting a little softer than she usually was. Millicent held back a giggle as the impulsive, bossy member of their team showed a side that Millicent had never expected to see.

Sara then kneeled down and took a closer look at the injured Mu. It looked badly injured. That piece of ice that was on its side was only growing bigger by the second it looked like. "You poor thing...Just hold still..." Sara raised her hand a bit and moved it closer to the Mu. The protective Mu growled louder as her hand got closer. The blonde then made a stern "Shh!" at it, making it stop growling. She took a deep breath, placed one finger on her thumb...

Carefully...

Flick! With one flick, she broke the ice off of the Mu. It stopped shivering and opened its eyes. It looked at its own side, then looked up at Sara who was smiling. "It's alright. I won't hurt you." She whispered to him in her kinder, gentle tone. The Mu began to stand up, but fell down, still being injured. Seeing this, Sara turned her head around. "Millicent, was it? Could you please heal this Mu from its injuries?" Sara said. The only major difference was that Sara voice sounded more proper, gentle, and a little softer than her usual bratty voice. In other words, her voice is completely different.

Millicent stepped forward upon Sara's request. The woman was surprised that Sara had asked, not ordered. Either way, she decided to help. "Yes, I can do that." She responded calmly. Healing the monsters we were meant to battle is an unexpected turn... She kept that thought to herself as she made her way towards the Mu. She held her staff out towards it, and it began to glow green. "Cure!" As she said the spell's name, the creature in front of her began to glow in the same shade of green as her staff. "It should be better now." She informed Sara and the others, then waited to see the Mu's condition.
