i was just looking through my DVDs, and i saw the final fantasy film (the spirits within).

 

i asked my parents about it and they said the graphics were incredible, but the story was incredibly bad.

 

i heard advent children was good, so should i get it? (also is spirits within worth watching?)

Advent Children is great if you are familiar with the characters and story from Final Fantasy VII. If you haven't played the game, it might be hard to fully appreciate. I thought Spirits Within was a good movie. Unlike Advent Children, It's a totally unique movie with unique characters and storyline. It's definitely worth a watch.

Advent Children is my favorite final fantasy movie. And the spirits within in is pretty good

Advent Children is great. Your parents will have trouble appreciating these movies as they probably never played the game and don't know a lot about the characters, however people who know what they are watching such as you and I will enjoy it.

Advent Children is the only FF movie i've seen. I found a download link online for the entire vid, got it directly on my iPod. (Cause thats how us poor nerds roll) But still, play FF 7 to fully understand wtf is happenin', I still regret seeing the vid before playing the game, but I beat the game and the vid is crystal clear.

You can get Advent Children just to look at the cool fighting and stuff, but it will be hard to understand if you haven't played and finished FF VII. :s

 

Spirits is a good movie. Just not as good as AC imo.

Advent Childeren was a really good movie, great animation and story you should pick it up if you ever get the chance.

Advent Children is okay, but I deeply hate Cloud in that movie. (Basically when my friends come over we make fun and rant about how emo he gets.) Although I suggest play FF7 (When Cloud wasn't emo!) to understand the story a little better.

 

Also, no. Don't watch Spirits Within. It's terrible. Really.

and yeah, i'll pick up final fantasy VII on the PS store (you can buy PSone games for PS3, and they're really cheap)

Get Advent Children it got awesome fights and the endings amazing so get it you'll love it.

You should just rent it instead of buying. As someone who has played FFVII, I found the plot of the movie quite boring with a few good fight scenes. As for Spirit Withins, it's a decent Sci-Fi movie if you just ignore the fact that it has the "Final Fantasy" name slapped on the title since it really doesn't have anything to do with the series other than a character name Cid.

 

 

Also, no. Don't watch Spirits Within. It's terrible. Really.

 

Oh come on now. At least it wasn't as bad those two "Final Fantasy" anime series Unlimited and Legend of the Crystals. Now those were terrible to watch.

If you want to see a pretty 2 hour long art show, then get it.

But really, the art is the only thing going for it in my opinion.
