[SPOILERS] New traitor theory

Posted

With the end of X and the Keyblade War starting I saw a few details that give me an idea for a new theory on the Traitor.

The Traitor is... US, the Player.

My reasoning is because the player essentially goes against the Unions and won't even join Ava's Dandelions. Also The Foretellers and Chirithy tell the Player important info that's important. If they did not think the Player is special why not tell everyone. Also in the final battle of the Keyblade Graveyard each Foreteller the Player fights considers them a threat an feels he/she needs to be taken out. Luxu just watches while Skuld Ephemer, and the Player essentially kickstart the war.

What do you think?

The traitor is meant to be among the foretellers, the player isn't one so it doesn't add up. Cool idea though.

Luxu to me is too simple of an answer for the traitor. To me it's either the Player or the Master of Masters himself.

It doesn't exclusively specify that one of the Fortellers are the traitors

Following the demise of Chirithy (2), the Foreteller informs Chirithy that despite the Unions' best efforts, darkness continues to grow in power, leading Chirithy to speculate that there is a traitor among the Foretellers. Quest 250: Heartless Havoc: Fountain Square

The Foretellers have assumed it's one of them, but the prophecy only clarifies that traitor will betray them all and cause the end of the world. Only the lost page in possession of Luxu clarifies the identity of the traitor. It's anyone's game at this point.

Thats why I think Luxu was referring to the Player. You never see what he says to Ava. Also "among them" doesn't mean the traitor IS a Foreteller, it could mean among the Unions themselves, remember we are technically part of the Foretellers groups.

Interesting theory, but I don't think it's possible...

The traitor is among the Foretellers. They have stated so.

It would explain why Ava decides to fight the player after all in the war. Also, considering Dark Chirithy did come from the player...

It's anyone's guess at this point. But it honestly only makes sense to me if it's been a misreading of the prophecy. Plus, I'm curious as to how the player character will be portrayed in Back Cover, if at all. It's possible that the player is too much of a "bystander" to have that major of a role.

I honestly think Ephemer would be a more likely traitor than the player if we were excluding the foretellers. After all, we KNOW that he's met with a mysterious character before and i doubt that was Ava. It's like the game wants us to forget that even happened so there's definitely something going on with him.

Remember as we've learned EVERYTHING in Kingdom Hearts has a reason.

This the direction I'm leaning towards. You could argue that Ephemera is the "Canon Player", considering Ava's relationship with Ephemera/Player, you could tell it was hard to believe it as true they were a traitor.

That would be one sick plot twist if that were the case!  Only time will tell if we, the player character, are actually the traitor!  But I dunno, it could be anyone, or it could be no one! That much is still a mystery, ya know?

I agree.

The traitor is the player.

Nomura has a lot of explaining to do
