Thanks to Media Create, via Neogaf, we have game sales information in Japan for the week of April 30 through May 6, 2012. During this week, Kingdom Hearts 3D [Dream Drop Distance] managed to sell 9,532 copies (an impressive feat, considering this is its 6th week on the market), for a total of 308,484 copies so far. These numbers are extremely impressive for the Japanese sales of a third-party Nintendo 3DS title, so it is quite promising to see Kingdom Hearts 3D still going strongly!

    Kingdom Hearts is a 3rd Party 3DS Title? I thought it was the only party. I mean it's the only reason why I got a 3DS.

    It means a game not made by the same company that developed the console or handheld. Since, it is available on a Nintendo system, but not made by Nintendo it is referred to as a third-party title.

     

    Examples of 3rd party titles:

     

    Jak and Daxter series made by Naughty Dog, available on PS2, PS3, and PSP

     

    Kingdom Hearts series made by Square Enix, but available on a lot of firetrucking systems.

     

    Asura's Wrath made by CyberConnect2, but available on XBox 360 and PS3.

    KH3D has some strong competition,it really did great :)Proffessor Layton and Monster hunter are some of the biggest titles in Japan

    Yeah, as long as they aren't made by Sony. If the game is made by Sony, then it's not 3rd party.

    Yay! Shows how good Kh is! Wish Uk copies were out now though. I wish my friends would give it a try too. They think Kh is rubbish when they haven't even played it...

    I love kh! and this shows how cool it is ever where!!! my friend did not like it. But i made him play and his in love with aqua xD
