New Kingdom Hearts III trailer shown at D23 Expo 2017

Beginning on July 14th and continuing through the 16th, D23 Expo is the ultimate Disney fan event where major Disney-owned companies and trademarks make various announcements related to Disney movies, games, etc. to create the ultimate experience for Disney fans.

During the Kingdom Hearts Orchestra - World Tour - in Los Angeles, a new trailer for Kingdom Hearts III was shown. At the end of it, a message was shown confirming that on July 15th, at the D23 Expo in Anaheim, California, a new world and a new trailer would be shown for the game. It was later confirmed that Kingdom Hearts III will be at the "Level Up! The Walt Disney Company's Video Game Showcase" at 1:00 PM PDT at the D23 Expo Arena. Yesterday, July 14, 2017, was the beginning of D23 2017, and today, July 15, 2017, is the day that they have had the new trailer revealed. Just as planned, it was shown at the Level Up! conference.

The Kingdom Hearts III segment of the panel was last, with the Star Wars and Marvel segments being showcased before. Kingdom Hearts series director Tetsuya Nomura and Square Enix Product Manager Kaori Takasue came on stage and talked about the Kingdom Hearts Orchestra - World Tour -, Kingdom Hearts Union χ[cross], Kingdom Hearts III, and, of course, revealed the new world, Toy Story, and the new trailer.

After the trailer was shown, Pixar Animation Studio story supervisor Jason Katz and Pixar Animation Studios associate creative director Tasha Sounart came onstage to discuss the new Toy Story world. Tasha Sounart helped work on the Toy Story world with the art style, creative direction, and animation. She said one of her favorite things to work on was to help design the toy versions of Sora, Donald, and Goofy, as well as the Toy Story Keyblade. They also confirmed that the Toy Story world will have a brand new story, never before seen in any of the movies, just like the Big Hero 6 world. To close it off, Nomura said there's more announcements coming and expressed his gratitude. Those who attended the panel were given a double-sided Kingdom Hearts III poster (photos courtesy of Churro)!

Mascots of toy soldiers from the Toy Story film also came on stage and performed an act. And at the end, Buzz and Woody mascots came out.

UPDATE: Thanks to the official Kingdom Hearts Twitter account, we now know the name of several of Sora's Keyblade transformations. The gun-type transformations we've been seeing in trailers are called the double Arrowguns and the blaster they transform into is called the Magic Launcher. Also, thanks to the new trailer, we now know that the hammer that the Toy Story world Keyblade can transform into is known as the Hyper Hammer.

In your FACES nay-sayers! Toy Story IS in Kingdom Hearts now, just as it was always intended to be! It wasn't even that hard of a concept to realize either, I'm so happy this is happening! xD

The first thing that I did after I got home from work was take my iPad and immediately got to Youtube to watch the Kingdom Hearts III trailer! When I saw the Toy Story thumbnail, I lost it, and I got crazy hyped! The trailer was beautiful, the worlds are looking insanely amazing! And it just makes me wonder just how big this game is going to be!? And good God, the world of Toy Story looks just so insanely amazing! I can't get over how beautiful it all looks! And the fact that we got a release year at the end just topped everything to me! THIS IS THE PROMISED TIME! THE XEHANORT SAGA ENDS 2018!!! :D
