  2. we're taking a two day school trip to hershey park hell yeah
  3. Ignore your mother and anyone else who calls you something. People say things because they're cruel and there's no point in taking things like that seriously. I think everyone has talked to themselves at some point - that doesn't make you crazy. And frankly I don't know a lot of people who aren't sarcastic, although some people more than others. Also ignore the people saying "it's not good to be normal". Be whoever the hell you want to be and if people disagree then screw them. It's not their place to tell you that if you're "normal" you're wrong. That's the kind of a thing a 12 year old says. So you're definitely not crazy in my opinion, you just have some very immature and rude people in your life. If you're really upset about this, it might be worth looking into visiting a psychiatrist, but I don't think they'll find anything out of the norm.
  4. Well, actually, we can with modern technology, but I understand what you're saying. However, it's mostly about love. I don't know anyone who thinks "I want to date someone who will produce lots of babies" and isn't thinking about personality, etc. Humans marry for love, and if someone happens to love someone of the same sex? Then it's good news for the human race, because 5x the number of gay couples are willing to adopt than there are children in foster care. So if we're speaking in terms of nature, samesex couples are extremely beneficial for the human race. They won't create new children and will nurture and raise children who need to be adopted. Rabbits aren't getting married and falling in love - they're making babies because they know they must for their race to survive. They're also not going to adopt another bunny's babies. In nature, heterosexual reproduction rarely has anything to do with love (I know I used this example before, but the female praying mantis eats the male after sex. You wouldn't eat someone you love lol) Of course, with humans, it all has to do with love. So the "nature" argument doesn't really apply to humans, especially since samesex couples are actually beneficial to us evolutionarily.
  5. 2,100 tumblr followers aww yeahhh
  6. Ahh I literally just finished this game! I loved the art, the gameplay, the rhyming - holy crap I loved everything. I seriously recommend this! It's not too expensive and it's really worth the money.
  7. We already have a thread for this http://kh13.com/forum/topic/45375-nintendo-network-ids-for-wii-u-nintendo-3ds/
  8. That post doesn't sound at all sarcastic.
  9. I see this as two separate issues actually. I would say in general, people don't hate other people's opinions. For instance, I don't like Twilight. In a debate, I would have a strong argument against liking Twilight. But in the end, it's just an opinion versus an opinion. While I'd be annoyed that someone actually liked Twilight, it's not my place to hate them for it. Everyone likes and thinks different things. I think most people just strongly disagree (which can be mistaken for hatred) in most cases. Now when we're talking actual /hatred/, although that's a rather strong word, I think we've moved out of the realm of opinions. When it comes to basic human rights? I definitely hate the ""opinions"" of people who oppose them. I put opinions in quotation marks because deciding whether or not someone else deserves basic human rights is not a place where an ""opinion"" belongs - they are rights all humans inherently deserve. I feel the same way with the evolution/creationism debate. If someone believes in creationism then that's fine, if that's what makes them happy. That's their opinion and they are perfectly entitled to it. I hate the ""opinions"" of those who want to force prayer and the teaching of creationism in schools, because it's essentially brainwashing children into becoming Christians. At this point, yes, I do hate the opinions of the people saying them. However, when people's lives and learning are at stake, I think it's often okay to hate the opinions of people trying to perpetuate issues in society. (But let me make a strong distinction here: the opinions of people saying such things are okay to hate - it is not okay, at least to me, to hate the people who harbor them.)
  10. omfg Why would anyone want to be gay? You have to worry about being beaten or raped or murdered your entire life. People who feel this way feel it because they don't have a choice. It makes no sense to want to be something that will cause you to live in fear your entire life. Although I can only speak for myself, I feel embarrassed as hell telling people irl about myself. I realize that something terrible can happen to me if the wrong person finds out. And yet I cannot change who I feel attracted to. It's not a choice I have - if it were, I'd be perfectly content with men. But that's not who I am and I don't have any choice in the matter. I definitely didn't grow up in an environment that "encouraged me to be gay". I went to two strongly homophobic Christian schools in elementary and middle school, but it was in early middle school that I figured myself out. That was when I'd still barely been on the internet, and certainly not exposed to the LGBTQIAP's presence. It doesn't make any sense for me, or anyone, to choose this. I realize that might have come off a little rude but that wasn't my intention, so sorry if you get that vibe.
  11. I usually prefer Standard. I think it takes the fun out of the game if I keep getting stuck and can't finish a story.
  12. You're going back and forth here. I called you out when you said it was a choice, to which you replied saying it's not a choice. So I quote you saying it is a choice, and you reply by saying they were influenced (which implies everyone is born straight and become gay, so it's a choice). I don't even understand your position anymore because you keep going back on things you had previously said.

    okay
  14. "I do not think anyone is born this way." "But the thing is about that, they really aren't born that way." These are direct quotes from your original post. By saying no one is born this way you are implying that it is a choice.
  15. lol it literally has like nothing to do with your upbringing. Being gay could end in beatings, rape, or death. If someone had the chance to be equally happy in life by being straight (the implication is that everyone is born straight), don't you think they'd choose that over the constant threat of assault or murder? I grew up in a very "masculine" household - by your logic, I should be 100% into men. But I like girls too. Intelligent animals are able to decide on their sexuality while less intelligent ones are not, because the less intelligent animals often only think of reproducing and don't care about anything else (for instance, female praying mantis eat males after mating). They're just not evolved enough to have complex social lives and relationships. Frankly, being straight would be really convenient for me. I really didn't get a kick out of watching my mom cry when I talked to her about it. I hate every time I'm forced to listen to some homophobic bible-thumper preach about how awful I am. If there was ANY choice in being part of the LGBT community NOBODY would choose it. This is probably the least thought out "analysis" I've ever seen in addition to coming off as pretty rude, not to mention that there is a plethora of studies that say the exact opposite. For example, the "gay gene" studies are unconfirmed and apply only to male genes (at the moment because such a thing cannot be confirmed in female genes, the implication is what they're finding doesn't actually have anything to do with sexuality). In addition to the fact that scientists have argued against the findings, the study specifically says "Being gay is nothing to do with your relationship with your mother, your father, or your best friend at boarding school". You literally said that the "gay gene" and such relationships described in the quote correlate, yet the study specifically says there's no correlation. You just made up that part. I would seriously recommend that you not preach about a subject you don't appear to be well-informed about in a way that can be construed as offensive.
  16. We haven't been doing a lot of things well. Hell, women are still being murdered simply for being women. Same sex marriage isn't legal nationally. This is literally the least productive senate in American history (although I believe one side is more at fault than the other, both parties can be blamed for this). We're doing a terrible job of promoting equality (Afghanistan has a higher percentage of women in government than we do), but I think there's still hope. As messed up as things are, we're slowly getting better. VERY slowly, but at least we're making progress. Public opinion usually changes slowly. So while our lives and probably still the lives of our grandchildren will be rife with inequality, we will keep improving. Maybe in 100 years children will be as appalled about the rampant racism, sexism, and homophobia as we were learning about slavery.
  17. It's a great game! TBH the description on Steam doesn't do the game justice. It's absolutely worth the money though.
  18. Nooooo Rox!! I hope you're able to get it back!!
  19. I hate College Prep. It's literally the most useless class and I understand that it's supposed to help me, but all I end up doing is a ton of work to review stuff I've already thoroughly researched.
  20. Sorry for being mildly inactive as of late. Final exams, AP exams, SATs, etc.
  21. Basically everything on ModCloth is adorable
  22. It sounds really cool to actually be able to understand another language as well as you do ahh I think there's a demand for fluent English speakers, so idk if you want you could probably just stay there forever
