Even In The Dark, Light Shines
This is actually pretty good, I like how you describe things in shorter chapters. Even though I'm used writing really long chapters those short ones are pretty epic to read. Keep writing my friend.

Hawkie's stories: Parent Trap (Cross-dress version!)
Here it goes: second chapter. Have fun reading it Also feel free to comment. Your opinion means a lot, bad or good, both are fine as long as you're honest to me. Chapter Two: Unexpected Reunion Morning came with a speed of light. Morning trumpet was heard all over camp to wake all kids up. Just when everyone thought it was over, another much lauder noise drowned the trumpet. It was Nai’s megaphone. “Good morning sleepy heads! I’m just reporting to be up in half of an hour for breakfast.” Girls in Roxy’s cabin groaned as they put their pillows over heads. Beside blonde there were four more girls in the cabin. Roxy got along with one pretty well, mostly because of her country girl –personality. Others seemed to be a tight groupie for very long. While girls started waking up Roxy was already in the bathroom, washing her face and teeth. When she was about to finish her usual ponytails, brown haired girl entered as well. Brunette seemed at least two years older even though her strong make – up made her older. Roxy reflexively made some space next to the mirror so other could use sink as well. Girl vainly took much more space just to fix her hair and deeply look in the mirror. Roxy knew her from last year by name Lisa and didn’t want to complain much when brunette set her make – up bag all over, pushing off Roxy’s rubber bands. Blonde sighed while picking them up, accidently crashing into Lisa’s arm. Brunette got her focus ruined when putting mascara on duo to Roxy’s little mistake. “So I see you still have this childish hairstyle. Did your mommy ever show you how to use real cosmetics?” Lisa grinned while taking powder. Roxy didn’t want to answer her question fully so she just ignored her and kept brushing her long hair. “What’s the point of having ponytails anyways? My six year old sister has better hairstyle than you.” Lisa ran her fingers through one of the ponytails. Blonde finally got something to say back. “Maybe because I like them. It’s not like everyone is living in your version of life.” Brunette glared when almost reaching limit of her nerves. Having nothing smart to say back she just pulled both of rubber bands off blonde’s hair, throwing them into sink full of water. “You won’t need them next time. I’m sure you rather do something better than ponytails.” Lisa smirked while leaving “Otherwise short hair will suit you much better.” Blonde picked completely soaked rubber band from the sink. Afraid of her threat Roxy got out of the bathroom in order to dress up. She put grey shorts and matching green shirt. Losing her bands meant just loosed hair in heat increasing weather. Other girls were soon ready, following the Lisa’s lead. Roxy didn’t know what was in the brunette that impressed other girls so much. She was just usual girl with richer parents, showing that in her expensive clothes and all other things that quickly invaded most of the room. Lisa and her giggling friends left the cabin with blonde quietly following towards main cabin where they had meals and smaller shop. Brunette immediately choose to sit at the most crowded table just to get attention. On the contrary, Roxy looked for as empty table as she could. She just didn’t felt like talking to anyone. Lisa had threatened her enough from the last year. Meanwhile someone else was raising his head in the crowd. “So where is that girl?” Austen boringly followed energetic blonde. “She said to meet during breakfast. Man, I can’t see anything.” Os panicky looked around until he saw familiar face with matching blue eyes, but much more different hairstyle “Roxy!” he called. Girl freaked out a bit when remembered about yesterday. Os was there, dressed in baggy hoody with matching black pants. She quickly passed the crowd to get to certain boy who was very excited to see her again. Roxy immediately replaced her sad look with cheerful one. “Wow, I nearly didn’t recognize you with loosed hair.” he said while they headed towards counter where food was waiting “What are you having by the way?” “Just some cereal with yoghurt. I hope they have peach flavoured one.” she replied while taking the bowl “Some think it’s a disgusting combination, but I like it.” “Makes two of us.” Os chuckled “But I’m taking toast with cheese and sausage.” “So unlikely for Englishman.” she poured chocolate milk in mug. “Expected bacon and eggs? I like those too, but I’m not hungry enough for them.” boy poured tea in his and added large spoon of honey in it. Roxy giggled while moving forward to table filled with desserts. Cook there offered them strudels filled with hazelnuts. “Would you like some?” cook nearly gave one to Os. “Thanks, but I’m allergic.” Os politely shook with his head while heading towards fruit. “What about you dear? They are very sweet.” “Thanks, but I’m allergic.” Roxy followed Os who managed to get some fruit. “Think I’m seeing doubles.” cook thought when turning to next group of kids. Two blondes soon found the table where Os’ friends were waiting. When Roxy sat next Dimi, brunette blushed more than Os had had the previous day. “What’s the matter other blush-boy?” Austen whispered on Dimi’s ear. “I never been so close to a girl before.” brunette whispered back. “Didn’t you say you’ve been dancing in pair since you were six?” Austen teased. “Yeah, but that girl hated me. This girl here… she is so…” Dimi nearly fell off his chair which made Roxy giggle. “You okay?” Os worriedly looked towards Dimi. “Nothing to worry about.” Austen got into conversation. “Just having shy blush attack.” Everyone started laughing, Dimi the most. After calming down, Os had finally a chance to introduce Roxy to them. Girl nicely shook their hands, adding positive thing or two while talking to others. When they nearly finished eating Nai appeared, this time luckily without microphone. “After this amazing breakfast we will go on a short hike. Hour of walking will take us to another part of lake where a lot of animals can be seen. You will be also able to borrow spyglasses to see them better. Just remember to not disturb animals. Otherwise I will turn my cap backwards and eat you alive as grizzly bear.” man finished. Kids were soon heading back to their cabins with group of four boys and one girl waiting for crowd to clear a bit. “Would you like to be with us during hike?” Os asked her while going outside. “Sure, bet it will be awesome.” Roxy smiled for reply. “Say, mind if I ask you something?” he asked at which girl nodded. “Why aren’t you having ponytails today? And why you had seemed so broken down before you saw me?” Roxy waited, so other three boys were away enough to not hear her. “One of the girls in my room threatened me that she will cut my hair if I’ll ever have ponytails again.” girl had sad look again. “She’s just scaring you, don’t take her so seriously.” Os put his hand on her shoulder. “I would, but she already done that to one other once.” Roxy nearly started sobbing. “You’re kidding! Didn’t camp leaders do anything about it?” boy got shocked. “They didn’t have the proof, plus Lisa’s parents are rich enough to influence the entire camp. It’s just so complicated and I’m afraid of losing my hair.” “Calm down, okay? She isn’t cutting your hair as long as I’m around.” “So brave of you, Os.” Roxy slowly turned her look into cheerful one. “But let’s just get ourselves ready for hike. I’m dying to see hawks!” Duo had smiled one more time before going towards their cabins. They both got ready pretty fast along with all other kids. Gathered in line, two by two kids followed the leader on the hike. Weather wasn’t very hot or in any way annoying. In fact it was pretty fresh and kept blowing wind made everything slightly colder for summer time. Wild part of the lake was soon seen with many animals such as small ones like racoons, flying birds and some deer. Kids went borrowing spyglass to watch the animals that were on the other side of the lake. There were also benches if there were bored kids with non-watching-animals interests. Roxy was definitely not one of them. She got excited even at bugs and plants she saw. But still she hasn’t seen any hawks yet. Stepping on middle part of fence, she literally put herself into spyglass to see at least one of those birds. “I swear I saw one seconds ago.” she mumbled while changing her view for tenth time. “Come birdie, birdie, birdie…” “Perhaps they’re hunting at the current time. Try to look for smaller animals or fish.” Os suggested. “Okay, let’s see.” Roxy looked around and stopped at part of the lake where some fish were. Suddenly quick claws grabbed one, carrying it in the air as fast as rocket. Blonde needed to step on tip toes to see bird with majestic wings. It was the Red Tailed Hawk, her favourite hawk specie. She watched every move that hawk made, moving her head in the same direction hawk went. Hawk turned straight upwards when blonde still followed its moves with spyglass. “Yo, be careful!” Os nearly shouted when he noticed Roxy’s feet slipping off the fence. Girl noticed that too, trying to keep the balance. But it didn’t exactly work. She fell off it, feeling Os’ ineffective hold. Both of them rolled down, just like day ago Os was rolling and crashed into her. It seemed like the event repeated, only with different person. When the rolling finally stopped, right in front of the lake, duo sighed with relief. But when they stood up it wasn’t such of a relief anymore. Of all people on entire camp they had to crush right into Lisa! Brunette was now in the lake, screaming all over. Her make-up slipped down her neck, making her unrecognizable. Adults rushed to her with towels which still didn’t stop her screaming. After removing soaked hair from her eyes, she pointed her finger right into two blondes who were innocently leaving. “It was them! Those two pushed me into the lake!” Lisa screamed. Os was about to protest it wasn’t all true when some other adults came. “Why don’t we talk about this back in the camp?” Nai put his hands on duo’s shoulders. “Punish them! They deserve!” Lisa kept screaming. “Now, now Miss Jackson. We’re in nature and wasn’t I clear enough about being quiet here? You’ll scare all animals here, making the hike pointless.” Nai said seriously at which Lisa shut up from embarrassment. Roxy astonished listened to camp leader. Guy just said three sentences and Lisa became much lower than she was before. Girl hardly hid her giggle when Lisa didn’t have anything to say back. Brunette could give them only angry glare as she followed adults and Nai back to camp. Other kids were still watching the animals while three unlucky ones were escorted back to camp. Even though it looked funny at beginning, Roxy and Os began feeling uneasy. The way Lisa glared at them, felt like dealing with beast which was going to rip their clothes at every second. When reaching one of the main sheds, brunette was said to go in first while duo needed to wait outside. Moment the door closed all sorts of curses and shouts were heard. “Hope we won’t get into too much trouble…” Roxy sighed “It’s my fault if we will.” “Hey, don’t be like that. Besides it was an accident.” Os comforted “That girl was just standing too close to the lake.” “Sounds just like Lisa if she admired her own reflection.” Roxy quietly giggled. “You’re kidding! That was the one who threatened you?” boy asked at which girl nodded. He nearly began laughing when one of the adults told them to go inside. There was Lisa with her head wrapped in a towel while giving everyone death glare. Roxy and Os sat on two free chairs as innocently as they could. Sitting down, they met Nai’s look, expecting to have eye-to-eye talk. Camp leader started talking when annoying brunette started shouting again, but luckily one woman next to her silenced her enough to not ruin entire Nai’s speech. “Miss Jackson claims that you intentionally pushed her into lake to make fun of her.” Nai started. “She’s lying.” Os got into conversation when seeing Roxy wasn’t able to talk over Lisa “It was an accident and we didn’t mean to make fun of anyone.” “I know.” man lazily looked on Lisa who kept glaring at two blondes “Enough of other mentors and kids saw no one being pushed in the lake. But they saw two rolling down kids who watched hawks too much.” Like previous day wasn’t enough, Os blushed one more time. But this time Roxy blushed too. Her cheeks became slightly pink when man continued. “But rules are rules. Even though it was an accident, you still caused some trouble.” Nai sighed “You’re going to spend four days in isolated cabin.” Os made confused look since he didn’t know what isolated cabin was. Leader then went towards Lisa, hinting to wait him. “What’s isolated cabin?” Os asked Roxy. “Cabin in which you’re separated from others. It actually isn’t that bad, you only sleep there and have separated place during activities.” she replied. “Wait! What?” Os got confused again. Next moment camp leader appeared again. “You can go gather your things.” Nai opened door for them “And no perverted situations. I know you’re opposite genders, but rules must be still included.” Duo headed for the door just went they felt Nai’s hands on their shoulders again. “I know you two are really good kids, but young lady there has parents who’ve already sued our camp for number of reasons. Just be nice and try to imagine, you’re in your own camp while being in isolated cabin.” he explained and showed them cabin that was much away from others. Half of an hour later Os and Roxy were standing in front of old and extremely lonely cabin. It was a bit smaller from usual ones, having even weird looking name. ドラゴン “What the hell does that mean?” Os scratched back of his head while holding black sport bag. “It says Doragon. That’s a Japanese word for dragon.” Roxy explained while dragging her grey bag, sewn with butterflies. “Wow, I’m going to be in dragon after all!” Os excitedly rushed into the cabin. Room looked almost as the one in which both of them were already sleeping except there were only two beds, extra desk with chairs, some old cupboards instead of wardrobes and separated bathroom. “Eh… Osie?” Roxy went towards the boy only to get embarrassed look from him. “Please don’t call me like that. It’s not that I don’t like it, it’s just embarrassing nickname.” Os began infilling his bag when she came closer to him. “Oh sorry about it.” Roxy looked through the window “Are you mad on me? I mean if I wasn’t so clumsy, you wouldn’t need to be here in the first place.” “Hey I don’t mind plus it was my choice to catch you and roll into that stupid brat.” he made funny look “I’ll only miss hanging out with my roommates.” “We can still see them, you know? During meals we aren’t isolated from them and I bet it won’t hurt them if we have activities together.” “Sounds like good idea.” he smiled “Which bed will you have.” “I think the one next to window. I can’t really sleep if it’s too hot.” she threw her bag on the said bed and starting unpacking. “Nice bag by the way.” he commented on butterfly detailed bag. “Thanks, I sewed butterflies myself.” she giggled “Dad was helping me too.” Time passed as duo was unpacking and chattering while putting their stuff in cupboards. When they’ve finally finished they heard thunder outside. It looked like afternoon bathing was cancelled. The ones who already began with that activity were running towards their cabins with towels over their head, wearing only swimsuits. Wind blew through the window, trashing Os’ pile of different sized papers. Luckily Roxy helped him catch them, before they were blown out of the cabin. She took a quick look through them when stopping at one photo. “That your girlfriend?” she smiled while showing him photo. “Thanks for thinking I’m the average teenager with crazy hormones, but that’s my older sister.” he sarcastically took the photo. “Wow you have a sister? Wish I could have one too or at least a brother.” Roxy sighed. “Don’t you have any siblings?” Os asked. “Nope, I’m single child with single father and nanny.” she went towards her drawer with paper things. “Why do you only have dad and how come you need a nanny?” Os tried to peek at her papers. “Dad divorced when I was still a baby. During that time I also got sick a lot and since dad was working a lot, he hired a nanny who besides watching over me also done house cleaning.” Roxy told “Guess you don’t know how it is if you have only one parent.” “Actually I do…” Os took deep breath “My mom divorced too when I was still a baby.” For a moment kids stared into each other as they were ghosts. Then Roxy picked her bottle of water, saying she was thirsty. “Say Roxy… when is your birthday?” he asked while she drank the water “Mine is on Bonfire night, 5th November.” Roxy suddenly split almost everything she just drank. She looked pale while replying. “I have it on 5th November as well!” Roxy’s look turned into shocked one “This is so weird.” Os started thinking about the first time he met her. Putting pieces together, puzzle began to make a picture. “Do you know your mom?” boy suddenly asked still puzzled girl “The real one I mean.” “Actually I do. I know she’s very pretty and has the same hair as I do.” “How do you know that?” Os started digging over his papers. “My dad kept a picture of her, but it’s very old and thorn. I think I have it here somewhere.” Roxy started pulling big photo from the drawer. “Wait!” Os nearly shouted “I have picture of real dad too and it’s also old and torn.” Os quickly pulled big photo from his pile of papers. Both kids now held photos closed to their chests as they were the most mysterious pictures. Roxy trembled from nervousness while he trembled from excitement. “This is so crazy.” girl was the first one to say something. “I know… but on three we show photos at once. You ready?” boy still trembled. “Okay… one, two, three!” both shouted when showing two photos. Moment they were shown looked like slow clip. Both photos were torn at one side and holding them closer it proved astonishing thing. Places where they were torn fit each other as puzzle. “That’s my mom!” Os said when recognizing woman on Roxy’s photo. “That’s my dad!” Roxy recognized black haired man. “Our mom and dad!” boy shouted which made girl take a breath. “So we’re like siblings!” Roxy’s lips turned into smile. “Much more Roxy… we’re twins!” Os excitedly took another look at her. Out of sudden long lost twins embraced so tight they barely breathed. Roxy always wished to have one more sibling and now he was here, giving her the warmest hug. Os also wished for another sibling, but a younger one. She was now here and embracing her gave him a feeling of being big brother and not baby one. “I’m just so glad…” Roxy sobbed into her brother’s shoulder “How did you know?” she asked him. “I noticed a birthmark on your neck. My mom has the exactly same one.” he stroked her loosed hair. “Can I call you bro?” Roxy kept sobbing. “Of course you can sis.” Os also felt water in his eyes. Minutes passed and reunited twins kept being into each other’s arms. Cold wind breezed through opened window when they’ve finally separated from each other. Feeling cold, Os took blue coloured scarf from drawer. “Mom made it and it’s made of some sort of very soft fabric. Though she kept saying how some fabric was left.” Os smiled. “Perhaps she used it for this.” Roxy took two still wet rubber bands from her pocket “I usually tie my hair with them.” Looking closely on the fabric, it proved to be made from the exactly same one. Twins laughed at resemblances and similarities between them. They continued chatting and even after lights out, they pulled their beds closer so they could still chat. Os laughed when Roxy showed stuffed animal she slept with. Even this one was hawk with golden feathers. “Its name is Spark.” she smiled “And I think she likes you.” “How can stuffed animal like me?” he made weird look. “I don’t know, it just can.” Roxy pressed fluffy Spark against his face. Stuffed animal even smelled with fresh sent of candies “What is your mom like? I only know her how she looks.” she suddenly asked. “Well she designs clothes, mostly dresses. Sometimes she needs days to come up with something new, but she always makes amazing work.” Os described. “Sounds like my dad.” Roxy slightly giggled. “How is he like?” he asked. “He’s an author and sometimes also lyrics writer. Some books are still too complicated for me to read, but I read the easy ones and I just love how he describes things.” Roxy dreamingly looked in the night sky. “Did he ever think of re-marrying?” Os suddenly crashed unexpected question. “Not really. He always joked I’ll be the only girl in his life.” Roxy took another look on the photo of herself and her dad. “Neither did mom.” Os pulled blanket over himself when he felt colder. Both kids were preparing to go in the land of dreams when Roxy almost jumped from her bed. “I think I have the most brilliant idea!” girl nearly shouted. “Why don’t you share it if you already woke me up because of it?” boy yawned. “Sorry bro...” Roxy got serious “Anyways, do you want to meet your dad?” “Of course I do and you want to meet your mom, right?” he confirmed. “That’s why we should switch places! Instead of going to California I’ll go to England and you will go to California. You will pretend to be me and I will pretend to be you.” “No offense, but I’m a boy. I can’t pretend to be a girl.” Os gave her a weird look. “Neither do I know how to pretend to be a boy. We’ll teach each other.” “But what about...” he looked down “We’re still different genders you know.” “Yeah, but that can be fixed up.” Roxy smiled giving Os the feeling as she’s going to cut off his manhood. Girl luckily noticed his terrified look. “I didn’t mean like that.” she apologized. Os took a breath of relief when thinking that switch plan could actually work. “You will need to describe me what are you do during the day. I don’t have much of an idea what girls are doing if they’re not playing video games or reading comics.” he said his thoughts out. “Or which video games are you playing if you’re already mentioned them.” Roxy got closer. “Believe it or not, I have sixty of them.” he smiled. “Wow, I’ll need to memorise so many of them?” girl got shocked. “Not every single one, just enough to convince my sister you like shutting yourself in room and playing them.” boy joked. “I hope you like pink.” Roxy said carefully. “Huh? Don’t tell me your wardrobe is made entirely from pink outfits!” Os widened his eyes. “Not exactly, but dad likes to see me in pink clothes.” Roxy gave him an apologizing look. “How come this hell always needs to be pink?” boy sighed. “Don’t worry, we’ll make everything okay. We just need to work together, that’s all.” Os now got up as well raising his fist up. “So, you’re up for a mission?” he held his fist in air. “Of course I’m.” she smiled imitating his fist. Their fists slightly hit each other with Os saying brofist and Roxy saying sisfist. Their plan was just about to begin.

Hawkie's stories: Parent Trap (Cross-dress version!)
Hey guys, I'm back this time with F-I-N-I-S-H-E-D story ! I know I've been so lazy lately and didn't post a thing, but hey everyone sometimes need bit of a break in order to improve some stuff. And yeah, fellow readers I'm presenting you my own version of Parent Trap I'm sure everyone had already seen Disney's movie Parent Trap, but my version... let's say it's a bit different. It's still based on the story though, with a bit more comedy in it . I also made a cover if you're interested, look at the photo bellow. Okay here's the answer for cross-dress in title Yeah it is not two girls who switch places but twins of opposite genders. And if you haven't recognised them yet those two are my OCs from my story Power of Nature, Roxy and Os Hidelight. Of course other OCs appear too. I think that be it for introduction. Oh, almost forgot. I couldn't write this story withouth my friend's help. Almost half of the story ( he was also the one who read that thing first, corrected mistakes and gave ideas for making this story better ) belongs to my penpal Replika 13 Like I said the story is already written, but I'm not posting all of it at once. I wanna re-read it and possibly add some new stuff in it Enjoy the story! Only warning: Hard-core humour sometimes. Chapter One: Far Away Usual summer day seemed just like all others. Burning sun was shining with extra high temperature, so most of people outside tried to wear as less as they could. Girls were wearing tiny dresses or miniskirts as boys wore light shirts and shorts with baseball hats. In fact all those people were mostly kids, dragging huge bags and saying good-byes to their parents. If parents didn’t have a lot of money or time to afford nice family holidays, they sent their kids to summer camps. One of those was in central of North America which was also very popular. Which kid wouldn’t visit camp that had literally everything from usual board games like chess to all sorts of sports and trips around lakes where you could see rare animals? There were even kids from far away places such as California, Manhattan or even all the way from Europe. And that’s where our story begins, in exactly this camp where two totally different, but also similar kids arrived. One came by car, having many bags with also one person helping him. “Are you sure you didn’t forget anything? Tooth brush? Sun block? Enough socks?” older girl kept asking while taking bags from car. “Sis! You’ve been asking me that since the airport! I double checked everything before I packed, during packing and after I packed.” younger boy sighed bit angrily “I’m twelve, not a baby anymore and you know that as well.” “I know, I know... but you’re still my baby bro.” girl mumbled and hugged him in warm embrace “I just can’t believe I’ll leave you here for four weeks.” “Nikki... it’s nice you care, but hey I can’t breathe.” boy managed to get out of her arms “Plus I will be away for three weeks, three days and twelve hours. That’s bit less.” he smiled. Black haired girl by name Nikki only fixed his partly soaked locks of bright blond hair. That was first time for her little brother to spend summer vacation on his own. Otherwise he would probably be stuck in his room, playing video games or reading whole collection of his comic books. It was nice to see he would spend some more time outside and perhaps finding new friends. Blonde wasn’t sure of what exactly he felt while saying good bye to his sister. Day seemed to come so suddenly, leaving him nervous as he took a look at all other kids there. “Just promise me you won’t do anything stupid.” Nikki said motherly. “Cut the worries, I’ll be fine.” he smiled “And I doubt I’ll be even bored here. Just looking at those forests feels awesome.” “Glad to hear it, Os.” girl hugged him for the last time and went to her car. She was already seventeen, old enough for having driving licence. Her brother Os waved his good bye as she stepped on gas and went home. That was it, he was alone. Os took deep breath and took all of his bags to get to the camp’s leader. Boys and girls around his age sure did long line in front of him. All of them waited for leader to record their arrival. Most of others kept themselves busy, by talking to others or bringing their handheld game consoles. Blonde regretted that he didn’t bring his, because neither of others wanted to chat with him. Only sentences he got from some boys there were harsh like “Don’t cut in the line.” or “This is not a baby camp.” He really got annoyed at the second sentence. True, he was short, but not that much to be mistook for eight year old kid. His fist almost reacted when he was on move. “Name, age and place of residence please.” leader lazily prepared his pen. He seemed really old duo to his silvery white hair, but business card on his shirt told otherwise. His actual age was only thirty years old. “Os Hidelight, I’m twelve and I came from London, that’s in United Kingdom.” “Aha... so you’re from England. Pretty nasty weather you got there.” man laughed as he handed him nametag and S - sized shirt. Or at least what the label was saying. Camp’s shirt with bird’s signature came all the way to his thighs. If that was S size, how big XL size was supposed to be? “Welcome to the White Eagle’s Camp. You’ll hear the rest in an hour or so.” man said to clear his wondering head. “Where can I put my bags? It’s really hard to carry them all the time.” “Boys have their cabins over there.” he pointed his finger “And please wait for further instructions before you start unpacking.” “Right, thanks sir.” Os grabbed his bags to get them to had said place. “What the well mannered kid... alright next.” leader turned to the next kid. After finally get ridding of his luggage, Os sat to the bench. He wasn’t exactly sure what to do while waiting for leader to continue. Neither of others had interest in him, so he just decided to take a short nap after countless hours of driving with plane and car. Line of the kids was moving extremely slowly. It was ten or twenty minutes later when boy’s head was hit by some sort of toy. Os sighed and picked partly broken plastic plane. “Oh gosh, I’m so sorry!” young brunette rushed on the scene “I didn’t mean to throw it on your head. You see wind blew and that kid pushed me and...” boy couple of years younger than him talked without thinking of stopping. “Don’t worry, my head is a lot more lasting than it looks.” blonde smiled while handing him his toy plane “I wouldn’t say same for your plane.” “Ah, can’t believe I broke it again.” brunette sighed angrily and took duct tape from pocket “Good thing I brought this along.” Brown haired kid started fixing his broken toy with bit help of Os. When they finally fixed it enough to be playable, brunette’s lips turned into cheerful smile. “Thank you for helping me... umm...” boy started searching blonde’s nametag. “Os Hidelight, nice to meet you...” “I’m Dimi, Dimi Stormfly.” brunette shook Os’ hand “So, did you come alone?” “Yeah, my older sister and mom said I should be more social. Not spending all day in my room.” “Same story here, ‘cept my brother came with me.” Dimi turned towards groups of some older kids “I think he won’t be with me much since his friends are here. It freaks me out being with Leo’s friends.” Os looked in the direction Dimi showed. From what he could tell, brunette sure wasn’t kidding. Almost all of them looked like crazy football fans duo to their extremely colourful hair. One had spiky green hair when other had longer orange ones. For the short black haired teen, he suspected to be Leo. “There’s no need to be alone you know. Why don’t we be friends?” Os changed subjected. “You serious? No offense, but I got slap when I asked that,” Dimi said uncomfortably. “You must have asked the biggest jerk. Don’t worry, I’m much friendlier.” “It’s settled then, from this day forth we’re friends.” Dimi grinned while shaking hands with Os “Think we better go back. Leader just finished recording arrivals.” Both boys got to the corner of larger group in front of the stage. On it was the leader with some other adults, preparing for speech. Before talking, he loudly clapped with his hands to quiet down chattering girls and complaining boys. “To all of you down here I would like to say welcome!” he shouted through megaphone which quietened the crowd completely. His voice literally pierced even through the deafest ears. “Now that you can hear me.... Welcome to the White Eagle’s Camp!” some younger kids started jumping from excitement. “For the ones who’re here for the first time, you mustn’t be afraid by me. My majestic name is Naiser. That’s Nai to you, otherwise I’ll get really mad.” leader joked “To see how angry I’m, I’ll wear this hat.” One of the adults handed him colourful baseball cap with many badges on. Nai placed it on his head for everyone else to see it. “See my hat? When it’s pointed like this, nicely straight I’m in very good mood.” leader then turned it, placing it askew “Hat at this rate means I’m mad, but not a lot. We can still talk problem out if you cooperate with me. Now this...” he turned hat backwards “Is really bad mood. You better stay away from me or I’ll eat you alive.” Nai started acting like a beast, scaring younger kids in the front. “This dude rocks.” Os whispered to Dimi. “Heh, I know. He’s even better than last year.” brunette smiled. “Now that you know me well, I’ll tell you those itty bitty rules you need to know. First, if you didn’t notice there are girls and boys in this camp and to not get in some sort of perverted situations, we divided you in two parts. Young ladies will have cabins right here, hidden in forest and boys will have cabins beside lake. So dudes, if you’re feeling stressed just jump through window, this means directly in the lake to clear you mind.” whole crowd began to laugh at the first rule. “Second, I know you’re all nearly grown up, but if you’re thinking about drinking alcohol, drugging or gambling, I advise you to choose some other place. Perhaps Las Vegas since it’s the nearest.” some older teens scowled at the second rule. “Third, every day you’ll experience different activities. If anyone has wishes for new ones, just pull my shirt and I’ll try my best to make it true. Also if you’re having any kinds of medical problems or fears report to me before activity begins.” kids started chattering, forgetting he didn’t finish yet. “Well those are our three rules. If you have any other questions, we walking encyclopaedias will definitely have the answers. Now, to move your legs and mostly arms a bit, it’s time for unpacking. Number of your cabin is on nametags and if you need any help at finding them just use direction arrows. Thank you for listening to my incredibly awesome speech.” With those words Nai and adults left the stage, leaving crowd on their own. Blonde got back to his bags when he noticed Dimi again. “In which room are you? I’m in WOLF3.” brunette almost reached for the nametag. “Looks like I’m going to be your roommate.”Os smiled after taking a look on his card. “You are kidding? That’s so awesome!” Dimi nearly started dancing “I was really afraid I’ll be stuck with some jerks.” “That makes both of us. I would get creeps too. Now let’s unpack our stuff.” Boys passed many cabins with interesting names. Some were called foxes, owls, weasels, bears or even dragons. The last one was mostly for older teens, much away from others. Os lastly found the right cabin, letting Dimi in himself in. Room was rather small with four beds and wardrobe for each. Dimi immediately jumped on one, relaxing his all four. “Travelling from New York can surely tire you big time.” brunette sighed while closing his eyes. “You’re from Manhattan? Wow, it sure is far, but not as far as my hometown.” “Yeah... speaking of which where did you come from? Are you from Manhattan too? Florida? Canada maybe?” “No, believe it or not, I flew all the way from London.” “London? You mean Europe? Phew... why did you come all the way here just for a camp?” “Don’t know for sure... my mom and sis wanted to send me somewhere for summer vacation since mom is busy all the time. Plus weather is sometimes so horrible during summer, so I ended up here in America.” “Nice... wish I had time to travel around.” Dimi smiled. Their conversation was interrupted by two more boys who came in the room. They introduced themselves as Austen and Piko, both bringing their giant bags. While unpacking they all chat, mostly about from where they came from, what are their interests and so on. Austen and Dimi talked the most, leaving shy Piko and Os in the corner. Blonde started conversation which didn’t end even after an hour when gathering bell filled all camp with trumpet like noise. “Gee, we better get out or this Nai guy won’t stop.” Os covered his ears. “I agree.” Piko nodded quietly. Field in front of stage was totally different. Instead of mess of kids and bags, boxes of different sport gear were set. There were balls for football, volleyball, basketball, rugby, even normal beach balls. Then there were bats, rackets, nets, jumping ropes, colourful boules sets and many more. White haired leader appeared again, this time without megaphone. “As you can see we have a lot of stuff for quiet beginning of the first day. Make sure you have a great time and don’t forget to meet as many new friends as you can. Enjoy!” Kids immediately started grabbing stuff from boxes, talking who will play with whom. Dimi lost himself in group of kids who were heading towards basketball field. Thinking of what he should play, Os picked softball glove and started looking around. At first second there was no one, next second others rushed for playing. Minutes later they were standing on grass field, prepared for game of softball. Since Os could run pretty fast, he decided for holding the bat. He offered glove to another boy who thankfully smiled. As game began everyone got full of excitement. It really didn’t matter who was winning, but how great all of them played. Blonde managed to do four perfect homeruns, giving his team motivation for further playing. After changing sides, Os got glove back, being put on catching field. This position in game seemed good too, but after some time of catching ball, it just went too far. He ran backwards, blocking eyes from blinding sunlight. His gloved hand reached for the ball, hoping to catch it, not seeing steep slope in front of him. Blonde tripped and rolled down the sloop. He could feel sharp stones cutting into skin. Rolling would probably continue if he didn’t crash into something. Or someone. Boy whimpered while getting on his feet, seeing many cuts on his legs. He was about to go back when he realized in what he had crushed. It wasn’t a rock, plant or anything he had suspected. To take a better look he went closer seemingly nervous about whole situation. It was a person he crushed against after all. Girl about his age was getting up, fixing her thin whitely blue dress. “Gosh are you alright? I didn’t mean to rush into you. I was trying to catch ball and...” he apologized. “It’s not that big deal... gee where my cap and jacket went?” girl asked while looking around in panic. “Jacket? In this heat?” Os got confused. “Just help me find it!” girl almost unnoticeably mumbled while running towards the grassy field. Os ran after the girl who was running in the direction of the wind. Perhaps wind blew those things away, but he couldn’t get it why she would wear the jacket in practically boiling weather. Either way he wanted to help her. He soon found her near the lake, picking white peaked cap with huge smiley badge on it. She put it on her head, fixing her hair tied into two ponytails. Os took a closer look on her face. For some reason she seemed familiar, but he couldn’t remember of whom. He was about to ask her some things when she ran towards lake again. “Why do you need your jacket so urgently? Don’t tell me you’re freezing.” Os confusedly asked when he caught up with her. “Of course not, silly! Oh, there it is.” she smiled while stepping towards pile of rocks. “Why then? Is it expensive or was some kind of gift?” he asked while watching her climbing up the pile. Girl didn’t answer, just kept climbing up until she picked thin pink jacket with hood. She was climbing energetically, but going down was different story. Before jumping from higher rock she had seemed to have some problems about it. “Come one, what’s the big deal?” Os made confused look. “It looked differently when I was getting up.” she said almost trembling. Boy sighed when he remembered about cat they used to have. It always climbed on the highest trees, but was never brave enough to come down by itself. Fear cat had, was the same as girls. Luckily he knew what to do. Carefully offering his hand to her, he tried to give her feeling of safety. “Don’t worry. Just go down slowly in the same way you got up. If you start slipping, try to just lean on my hand.” “Are you sure? Rocks are pretty sharp on some sides.” girl still didn’t want to jump. “Come on, you can’t spend entire camp – time here. You’re on holiday!” Wind blew into her ponytails when she finally decided to jump. Before jumping she had thrown her jacket to Os who caught it with slight disgust. Pink was never a colour he liked. It reminded him too much of those giggling girls with spoiled attitude. But the girl who was slowly coming down didn’t seem like one at all. Her movements couldn’t be attributed to spoiled childhood like pink jacket was telling. Maybe that was the reason why he wanted to help her and get to know her. Minutes later she got down, staring into his face as wind breezed into shoulder – length ponytails. Girl still held her jacket and cap when Os decided to address her. “I’m glad…” he started when girl had other idea. “Thank you for helping me! What’s your name?” she rushed with flood of words. “I’m Roxy Hawkins, see?” she went showing off with her nametag. “It says Roxana here…” Os took deeper look. “I like Roxy better, don’t you too?” she smiled as he blushed. “Let’s see who you are mister… Osie Hidelighty!” Roxy grinned at just made up nickname. Blonde really had hard time hiding his blushing. Girl sure knew just how to tease him in non–annoying way. Roxy went putting her jacket one when Os remembered about his fall. He quickly checked knees, which had been unnoticeably to him before, were largely covered by blood and kept spreading towards his calves. Boy was about to get some water to wash it off when he was pulled back to the main cabin. “Let’s rather get you to infirmary. You’ll get your wounds infected otherwise.” Roxy’s tone changed into serious one. “Oh come on it doesn’t look that bad.” he protested when she led him pass smaller groups of kids, who kept enjoying sport games. “How do you know? Besides you will need bandages and your shirt looks a way too good to be turned into blood–absorbing material.” Until reaching the right room they were both quiet. While moving girl managed to put her pink jacket on, hiding bare shoulders. Os was the first to enter when they finally reached infirmary. Nurse there just finished putting Band–Ads on two boys who seemed to play rugby in a bit roughrider way. Blonde nearly freaked her out when he showed his two badly cut knees. “Just sit on the table while I find you bigger sticking plasters.” brown haired nurse began opening countless closets “I knew we should’ve bought more. First day of sporting activities and we already have six beat up kids.” Os got on the table while Roxy waited next to him. Nurse then returned with sterile gauze to disinfect his cuts. Just before putting them on injured knees she noticed something to get tweezers. Pieces of sharp stones and broken glass still projected from his skin. “I’ll try to be as gentle as I can, but it will hurt. Just grit your teeth, okay?” boy nodded at her instructions. Middle aged woman started removing smaller pieces when he felt slightly smarting pain. More pieces she removed, more smarting the pain was. His breaths started becoming panicking when he noticed his hand being hold. Roxy was trying her best to calm him down which actually had effect. It felt as comforting as his mother’s hold and when nurse finished it seemed as fast as bare seconds. Boy stood up with now bandaged knees, waiting to go outside. “What’s the matter with you dear?” Os turned around only to see nurse was talking to Roxy. “Nothing, I just escorted him here since he already helped me once.” girl used her childish tone. “That’s so sweet of you.” nurse ruffled Roxy’s hair “Though your skin appears to be a bit sensitive. Do you mind if I just check if you’re alright as well?” Girl nodded for reply and removed her jacket to give better view at shoulders. Os now noticed how pale girl’s skin actually was. Nurse gasped a bit when she saw major part of Roxy’s shoulders, neck and face being covered by sunburns. “Don’t tell me you’re Hawkins.” woman asked shockingly at which Roxy frightened nodded “Camp with over one hundred and fifty kids at which I forget to memorise the kid with sun allergy!” nurse slapped herself while looking for anti – sunburn lotion. Just when she was about to put some lotion on girl’s skin her walkie – talkie started ringing. Woman answered, talking for about a minute and then took quick aid kit. “They need me outside for some assistance. Can you put lotion on her instead?” she asked boy who surprisingly nodded when she left. Roxy just smiled and turned her back to him. Os felt a bit shy when he took lotion. He was about to touch the girl! And not just slight touch, he was actually going to rub lotion into her skin! Blonde already done this few times to his sister and mother, but that girl was totally different story. He had just met her and the way she talked to him made him blush in such annoying way. “Don’t worry, that won’t meant anything.” Roxy said when she felt his embarrassment. Boy felt comforting words when he began rubbing cold lotion into her red skin. He now understood why she was wearing cap in jacket in boiling heat. Fabric protected her sensitive skin from burning sunbeams as well as cap made a shade over her face. But it looked like wind blew away her protection just enough for sun to damage her skin. “Does it hurt?” he asked while putting more lotion on. “I’m pretty much used to it, so it isn’t much of a problem.” she said while sighing “Though it sucks you need to be careful all the time.” “I get the picture.” he replied. “Say, where are you from?” “Me? Tell me where you are from, so I’ll know if I need to keep it simple for you?” Roxy made her usual smile. “Good point.” Os nearly finished rubbing. “I bet Englishman isn’t familiar with all States.” “Wow, I knew there was something in your accent that wasn’t American.” she fixed locks from her face to put lotion on. “Oh and I’m from California. I’m not sure if you know the backwater hill where I live.” “Looks like I’m the only European kid here.” he smiled. “Don’t worry, it’s not like everyone is racist here and besides… there are a lot of kids to be friends with.” Roxy stood up when she felt Os hasn’t put lotion on her anymore. Just before girl put jacket back on, blonde noticed small thing below her neck. It was very light coloured spot that doesn’t appear on everyone. It was a mole. Same one his mother had. Os was confusedly about to ask her more when another trumpet like noise was heard again. Sporting activities were over. It was time for boys and girls to return to their cabins and prepare for bed. Roxy swiftly put cap back when heading outside. “You sure are a real English gentleman.” she giggled “Or are you just surprisingly nice?” “Both I guess. Think we could be friends?” he stretched his arm for handshake. “Why not? But that isn’t how friends say hi.” she put her hands around him for a hug. Girl was practically a magnet for Os’ blushing. When she finally loosened her hug he stretched his head from embarrassment. “So do you wanna meet up any time tomorrow?” was first thing thatgot into his head. “Sure, unless you hate hawks?” she replied. “What do hawks need to do with meeting up?” he asked. “Nothing, it’s just we’re going to watch birds of prey and other animals tomorrow. Hawks are my favourite.” “No wonder hawk is part of your last name.” he said when they were suddenly outside. “I’m in WOLF3 if you’re going to look for me.” “WEASEL2” she showed her turned nametag. “It was nice meeting you. Say what you say we meet during breakfast? I’m sure no one will mind if we sit together.” “Sounds like a plan.” Kids waved their hands while heading towards their cabins. Roxy went up to hidden cabins in the woods while Os went down to cabins around the lake. When he opened the door his three roommates were chattering about the day. “Os man, where were you? I haven’t seen you since the sports began.” Austen asked with his country accent. “Um… with a girl…” blonde mumbled while thinking what to say. “Really? Aww that must’ve been so awesome!” Dimi cheerfully patted Os’ shoulder. “So, does she like you or she’s already deep in love with you?” black haired teased. “It’s not like that! We just... umm... we’re friends.” Os tried to explain. “Yeah right and the very next night we will find you in Nai’s perverted situation.” Austen laughed. “Guys come on! If he said they’re friends, they’re friends. Quit mocking him.” Piko got into Os’ side. Blonde gave brunette a grateful look while going towards his bed. Others quieted down while doing the same. “If you won’t make fuzz about it, I’m going to introduce her to you during breakfast.” he smiled. “Sounds okay, eh?” Austen gave him an apologizing look. “How come you became friends so fast? I’m not getting into your mind or anything, it’s just curiosity.” “What of becoming friends with girl sounds weird?” blonde changed into his pyjamas. “Nothing actually, it’s just that we’re hitting puberty and all.” Austen did the same. “I’m not sure and for now I’ll just try to sleep okay. It’s been a though day.” “No wonder, blush - boy.” black haired smiled. Os no early than now looked into the window next to his bed. In it he saw reflection of his almost pulsing red cheeks. He really gave his friends the wrong idea. Especially because connection he felt with her was totally different.

Black brings sadness to Hawk
I would post that at writing, but it's just too personal to be added there. For the title, I'm talking about black as a colour who at least to me brings lots of sadness... that's one of the reasons why I hate it and why I don't wear almost anything in black colour. Black doesn't just bring sadness, it brings pain and death as well. And that's where I'm going to start. In last two years I wore black only two times... but soon I'm going to wear it one more time. I wear black clothes only on funerals. Today I lost someone very special to me. It happened so fast I couldn't even say goodbye or at least see her for one last time. My grandmother, who partly raised me, take care of me when I was ill, supported my artistic skills and always had time to talk with me has passed away today. It was just normal day when it happened. My dad wasn't home yet when mom said that grandmother had a stroke and was taken into hospital. I was afraid, but I knew my grandmother was a fighter. When dad came home dressed in dark clothes I was afraid of the worst even more. I couldn't believe it when dad said she didn't make it. All of sudden... I kept asking why. Why now? How could it happend? I was always proud of how healthy my grandmother lived comparing it to other older people. And many older people I knew had many strokes and still made it out okay. For now I'm just trying to remember as much as I can about her, becuase she was really close to me. Sometimes even more than my parents. I remember when I was four and got ill pretty fast duo to my sensetive health. Even though my grandparents lived really far away, dad always took me there when I was ill. Grandmother took care of me, tucked me into bed and told me stories while grandfather just tried to make me laugh. Her stories are probably the reason for my love of writing. She never read them to me from story books, always made up her own. I even remember one where she used me as a main character, as knight who searches for treasure through many mysteries. If I'll ever remember the whole story... I'll do my best to write it as the most special story ever. When I got older my grandparents always took me somewhere for summer and autumn holidays. I liked once when we went to mountains and they managed to convince me to climb higher than them. As for summer holidays they were always the greatest. I spend a week in their house and every day there was something to do. But I always woke up early enough to watch the hawks in the morning and perhaps deer, dormice or squirrels. In the afternoon when grandfather took his nap me and grandmother went for a walk and sometimes took their black dog with us. Doggie named Roki was a really nice dog, always looking for something to play with. Roki was euthanasied when I was less than nine years old duo to weakness in his health. I still miss him. R. I. P. Dog Roki I was over ten years old but still going on those unforgettable holidays. They came to visit me too, during birthdays, Christmas, Easter and such. I remember once when I really wished to have remote control car for my birthday. I didn't tell that to anyone, but my grandmother knew. I was so happy when I opened that box. I still have this car in my room and it works too, just needs batteries. School was starting to get tough, but I still love the times when she called me through phone. Even when I had hard tests the next day, I took those ten minutes for chat. Her voice made me happy and optimistic. For the times I still came for holidays I loved the times when we were on couch with my head in her lap. I feel asleep many times becuase she was stroking my hair so gently. Even my mom could never stroke my hair in the same way she did. I also really liked the last day of my holidays when we surprised my parents with baking something sweet. After I was thirteen, black things slowly began happpening. Besides me finishing the elementary school, grandfather has started having problems with his health. He had a tumour and needed to go on surgery after which he was never the same anymore. He was so weak, staying in bed for most of the days. I lost him last year, wearing black clothes for the first time. During the funeral I didn't cry which was the most difficult thing I ever did. Grandfather always tried to make me laugh and I clearly knew he hated to see me cry. I really hope he's happy now, where ever he is. R. I. P. Grandfather Peter Months after he passed away were difficult. I still have this feeling inside my chest when I enter my grandparents' house. It was sad enough to not see Roki anymore. Now grandfather isn't is his usual chair with that funny look anymore. I had hard time in school, not laughing from my heart as I usually did, only had a slight smile. Grandmother called many times and I was really glad to talk with her. She always knew what was wrong and how to cheer me up. I knew grandmother had much more difficult time than me. That's why I also tried to call her back or find an excuse to visit her. She was wearing black clothes for a year and every time I saw her, I fought with sadness that black brought. The second time I needed to wear black clothes wasn't for someone I knew. Classmate's father has passed away more than a month ago, aged only 51, in an accident. I remember the moment when he found out, right when we were returning home from school trip. I sat right behind him on bus when he heard the terrible news through cell phone. He burst out crying as never before. I didn't know what to say beside I'm sorry. Pain of losing someone is much greater than anything to describe. Entire class came to the funeral and he was really glad that we all came. Week later he came back to school and tried to be his old self as much as he could. We both talked a lot too and I'm glad if my words helped healing his pain. During the difficult surgery I had only four weeks ago, my grandmother kept calling me to see if I was alright. First two weeks after the surgery that were also the most painful ones, she called me and tried to cheer me up. I still remeber the last phone call. I was painting my seventh flag for summer camp when she called me. I put down the brush for those five minutes for a chat. She asked me how I finished my third year of High School and I proudly said I had Chemistry, her favorite subject, 4 out of 5. Other than that she asked about how my penfriend is doing ( I showed some of his letters to her and even his photo on which she commented that he had a nice smile ), if my leg is feeling alright and simmilar stuff. I remember that I was really cheerful when we talked and even older sister joined. When I said goodbye I didn't know it was the last one. Since that day I never seen or heard her. I'm looking back to see all those memories wrapped in colourful paints of a rainbow. Now there's just an empty house with not just doggie and grandfather gone. Grandmother won't be there as well. Wherever you are grandmother, I hope you're happy. You've given me things I needed the most, your support, your kidness and your love. I'll miss seeing your name on my cell phone when it rings. I've talked to you longer than to any of my friends. With your words I'm seeing the world with much brighter eyes. You taught me how to be an optimistic person, how to aplogize and make someone happy in the best way possible. You'll always be in my heart, in this special place where only the closest friends belong. From this way forward I'm writing for you. Your stories inspired me to use my day dreaming for writing my own stories that will never be lost. Thank you for a rainbow of memories you've been giving be for seventeen years. R. I. P. Grandmother Ana I love you granny and thank you again for opening my eyes.

Hawkie's Real Stories: Flashback Number 88
Before I start I must tell you that anything written here is 100% true. That's my first time writing about a real life experiance, so don't expect something perfect. This writing may also have answers of why I haven't upload almost anything this year. It was very difficult and I hope I didn't let anybody down. So my real life story begins. Flashback Number Flashy snow, many trees and one single way. That’s how I remember minutes before it happened. I held my skiing sticks deep in my gloves, kept staring in the snowy line in front of me. Just some more seconds and coach gave a sign. My silver skies slide towards the start place where I would begin. I took a deep breath, fixed my white helmet and again looked at my number jacket. The number 88 was on it. I don’t believe in bad and good numbers, but this one was bad, really bad. I didn’t mind it in fact I even thought it brings luck. Now I kinda believe that numbers which can be divided with 4 are bad ones. Why so bad? Listen to the rest where I describe the most unlucky day that totally screwed up my life. “Number 88, you can start!” man in red snow suit said. I took deep breath and for second though aboutevents that happened in the morning. Few weeks before, I had signed to go on a skiing contest. I was really excited, because I have been skiing since I was four. To think in what I got myself into now…. Well to return back, we were on bus getting towards snowy mountains. I saw a lot of familiar faces there, even a friend who I haven’t seen for nearly five years. Together, after coming to mountains we went to ski. Contest started around twelve o’clock, long enough for us getting some speed on ski lines. It was really nice skiing on the hills with incredible speed and beauty of the mountains. I so wish those moments lasted a bit longer, because the next snow ride I took… was the last one in this year. Hearing my number 88, I turned towards the start. Snow line wasn’t that complicated, not too flat not too steed. For the contest you need to ski on that ski line while making turns around sticks with flags. When you reach the end you get your time and the one with best time wins. Easy enough right? I started skiing around first flag sticks. It was a bit complicated, because around 87 kids already skied before me and a lot of snow was literally turned into ice. Duo to that my skies were shaking big time while I was skiing down. Next few seconds were okay too, some nice turns and good speed. Then it was the moment that is still appearing in my head. Even now I can see it. There were two flag sticks which were very near each other. For I second I got confused around which one will I have to ski. Speed was increasing for every second of confusion. In the last moment I figured which one was the right one and quickly turned towards it. Quick turn and there was just blackness. Few seconds maybe even minutes later I opened my eyes and realized I was lying on the ground. I heard my teacher shouting to continue. I obediently stood up… did I? I’m not sure, it’s as I lost those memories duo to the sudden shock. Next thing I remember was falling on the ground. For some reason I couldn’t move my leg. Also out of sudden, pain appeared as someone was trying to tear my leg apart. After that was just chaos. Teachers rushed towards me when I was still so confused. My head still hurt from the fall and enormous pain in my leg was increasing. Paramedic rushed towards me and started moving the leg as I was a doll. After some painful checks he simply said “Nothing is broken. Let’s go down slowly.” and left. God if he knew what was really wrong. I didn’t break my leg, but got even worse injury. For next few hours I’m not really sure what happened. I know they somehow got me on the bus where I waited for getting home. During the time I waited I tried to sort my memories into some sense. With my mind I returned back on the ski line between those two flags. That’s when I realized. Accident happened because my right ski got stuck for flag sticks in the last moment I considered which flag stick is a right one. With high speed I pulled leg forward when stick held it back. This caused some sort tearing. Hour or two later other skiing contestants showed up and I think I was asked what happened for at least fifty times. Luckily those didn’t tire me with countless questions and just left me to rest. ‘Cept for some squeaking girls that were sitting next to me, they were the worst. They wanted to know every single detail how and what happened. I had trouble explaining since I was still confused duo to the shock. Ride home began and some older contestants brought a backpack full of bottles. I was somehow used to older guys bringing alcohol on the buses, so I didn’t really mind. I minded big time after quick turn. Some bags, including the one with bottles fell from upper shelves. Why I’m telling this? Because the backpack with bottles fell right on my injured leg! Heavy glass forced my most animalistic sound from me. I was already in pain and glass just had to make it worse. Guys started apologizing when I just wanted to say “Go to hell already” and forget that day even happened. When I got in hospital I couldn’t walk on my own, so my mom got a wheelchair. I felt a bit stupid for being on wheelchair and all, but I knew that was the best for my leg. After X – ray doctor said my leg isn’t broken or anything, just damaged in different way. Knowing nothing from the x –ray, he could only check the injury by pain. When I had had a painful injury where part of my skin was removed while I felt it, I thought that was the most painful experience I’ve ever had. I was wrong deeply. Doctor roughly moved my leg around so painfully that I thought he’s just going to rip it off me. Feeling of my limbs getting apart from my body felt so terrible. I even started crying from the pain. In the end he finally said what was wrong. I have torn my knee ligaments apart. For the ones who aren’t familiar with this injury, common among sportsmen, I’ll explain a bit. Leg has two main bones connecting in knee. In knee are four muscles that are keeping those two bones together – knee ligaments. From four main ones I have torn two completely. I mentioned that it was far better if I’ve just broke my leg. You know why? Because bones heal up in few weeks or a month when knee ligaments need months! Sometimes even a year. I had injury on fifth February and I still have it. All four months I wasn’t able to do any exercise. Even fast walking was fatal for my knee. I was so sad, because I needed to quit tennis playing. I’ve become so good this year that I even won the third place on Junior Tennis contest. Also my tennis partner is such a good friend. Duo to being on different High Schools we can’t even hang out during our training anymore. We can only communicate through cell phones which we both don’t really like. Instead of meeting every Monday and Thursday during this year, we’ve only seen each other for two weekends. I still have a so called “hospital trauma”. I mean I needed to spend three full days in hospital. It was my very first time and from what nurses said I was “really frightened kid”. Duo to my looks and short size they thought I was fourteen. I’m seventeen actually and when one other nurse asked me how old I was, I just asked “How many years do you give me?” She said twelve or thirteen. I minded a bit at first, but you know what? I like being young . It only bothered me a bit once when one of the nurses came to check my temperature and only heard my voice. That time she thought I was ten or nine. Gee, I never knew my voice was THAT high pitched. Other than that, things were almost as same as in movies and books. Hospital food was horrible, tasting almost the same as plastic. Luckily my mom saved me with fruit from home. Also the thing they show in anime a lot – extremely hot nurses. They actually were and for some I could only think if they were “all natural” duo to some who had dyed hair in freaky colors, almost like Riku’s silver ones or Kairi’s red. There wasn’t much stuff that I could actually do in hospital. I read a book that I read for more than twenty times, slept and texted some of my close friends. I also had my PSP with me, but couldn’t really play BBS because I had needle in my hand all the time. This caused me pain every time I switched commands during battle. After I got home I could only walk using crutches. It was very difficult because snow and ice were everywhere. As weeks passed I got crutches in control getting everywhere even on snowy hill and ice covered roads. Once I even managed to climb on the tree and my mom almost got crazy when she saw me there. Other than that my classmates joked that I could write a book “One Hundred and One Use of the Crutches”. Also I will never forget the moment when nerd guy in our class, who often picks on me, took my crutches and started making fun of how clumsy I am. Next moment while pretending to use the crutches he fell on his showing – off ass! I hardly hid my laugh while saying “I think you’re going to need those if you’ll continue to be so clumsy.” After a month I could walk on my own wearing special brace. If you know anime Fullmetal Alchemist, I felt like wearing an automail. Every move I made felt so unreal as my leg was artificial. Luckily after two months and a half I could walk without brace, but still be careful of sudden movements. As my doctor said the middle knee ligament can never mend when side ligaments can. According to doc’s plan I finish my third year of the high school, while side knee ligament mends, and have a surgery in the beginning of the summer. Surgery is supposed to be very difficult, that’s at least what doc said. Now summer has come and also my surgery. I managed to finish school, not with the highest school mark, but I was very close. Surgery was on Tuesday 11. 6. 2013. I was scared duo to some stuff I read about general anesthesia. That’s when they put you in sleep while cutting into your body. In some article I read about boy who didn’t woke up. It made me feel paralyzed, thinking only about how everything will turn up. And yet day of the surgery finally came. Seven o’clock in the morning I came to hospital. Nurse helped get hospital pajamas on which were way too big on me. I said “I think it’s a bit too big” when nurse replied “No, it’s huge”. After that we went to cellar rooms where operating rooms were. I needed to take my all clothes off and laid on operating table while nurse cover me with extremely hot towels. Some other nurse also came, saying “good morning” for at least ten times while preparing different liquids. Then I got needle in my hand once again. Nurse almost immediately put tube with salt solution in. I felt a bit cold feeling that spread in almost my entire body. I started feeling dizzy, keep watching how nurse was preparing different injects. I have clearly no idea when I fell asleep. Next moment I woke up in some other room, hearing some beeping machines and shrinking tape that measured my blood pressure. I felt lots of bandages around my entire leg. Then I nearly started chocking myself when I felt some sort of liquid in my throat. Someone set some sort of black bag in front of my mouth so I could throw up it. I never felt so tired, even after they brought me back in my hospital bed. My eyelids were as they were stuck together with glue. Same went for my body that was limp. The day after the surgery was the weirdest day I’ve ever experienced. Duo to anesthesia I was forced into sleep. But not the deep one. I could still heard conversations and sounds in there. Even my mom who tried to woke me up. I tried my best, but drugs didn’t let me. I woke up in the evening time, hungry as hell. Dad brought me some apricots which tasted really good. Only problem – my stomach didn’t think so. I threw up and felt even weaker. Nurses gave me some more drugs into tube making me feel even more terrible. In next two hours I threw up two more times emptying my stomach completely. Next day I couldn’t bring myself to eat a thing. Stomach rumbled all the time and when I smelled any food I felt as I’m going to throw up one more time. Even now I still have problems eating, so my mom keeps making me tea to fix my stomach. It actually really worked! The first day I came home I could eat the pancakes, but not with too much sugar. Leg by the way sure was a pain. It felt as it was bitten by some sort of wild animal. Looking while nurses changed bandages almost have made me sick. I mean there were five stiches, three long and two short ones. Doctor explain to my dad, who was an engineer, how they cut into my skin, sew stuff together and other similar stuff. Man, doc acted like as I was machine that got repaired! Other freaky stuff was on the day I left hospital. While putting my clothes on, my older sister has told me something about happened during the surgery. Surgery supposed to last only half of an hour, but for some other reason it lasted nearly two hours. Doc found out my side knee ligaments haven’t healed up yet and decided to fix it as well. Others almost panicked that I will wake up before surgery would end. I got shocked into thinking about waking up in the operating room with leg still savaged! Right now I’m home, resting until muscles will get used. I pretty much do stuff I don’t really care about and sleeping. Walking is more difficult than it was after the surgery. New brace – automail goes from my ankle to thighs and it takes a lot of time to put on and off. Other than that I also write, so if there might be any readers for my stories you are free to tell me which to continue. I’ll be more than glad to make someone happy. I pretty much have much more time now, so I can upload anything you want. Though leg doesn’t allow me to sleep more than seven hours I can be still really active when it comes to writing. Thank you if you took time to read my real life story

Hawkie's Essays: Four Fears - Are you afraid?
Before I start I have some things to say... I recently got really busy in school to the point of not updating any of my stories ( sorry guys ). One reason is that by this school year time of collecting so called "school points" has began. For me that's really important becuase if I don't get enough points I won't be able to study english - my dream study! So any of you who reads my stories, just hold still for a few more weeks. Once summer begins I promise to update my stories by 3 to 5 chapters per week! Okay now to the main thing. Some weeks ago I got this interesting homework for english, to write an essay about fear. I was really confused and contemplative firstly, but then I got a really amazing plan how to do it. After I finished it my teacher said it was very good and nicely put together. Teacher even wanted to put it into school magazine, but I refused becuase it also contains my personal experiance. I didn't want others to know all this stuff about me, I'm already considred as weird person at my school. That's why I decided to put it here, becuase we all have different experiances and I know you all judge differently. So if you have time to spare take a look at my essay. Four Fears: Are you afraid? ( Mirror, Violence, Time, Space ) All the time you keep hearing the word fear. What is fear? Is it just a simple word or something that can turn your life upside down? Everyone is afraid, even if they don't say it. Here’s already one point of being afraid – people are afraid to tell others they’re afraid. It’s the same as if they said they hadn't lied – they have already done it. So what I’m trying to tell you? Fear isn’t just a simple thing to understand. It appears in many forms and sometimes people can’t tell what their greatest fear truly is. What makes you shiver? What makes you get goose bumps? Are you already afraid of reading this description about fear? Try to relax while reading this. It may help you conquer your fears. Everyone has at least one that keeps appearing in his/her life. I’m going to introduce you to my own fears. There are four of them and I have already conquered some, with some I’m still fighting and for some other fears I’m afraid will never be conquered. I put together those fears after thinking about my childhood and reading some books about it. Some may sound weird, but after reading the description, you’ll think different. So get ready to meet some main fears of mine. Fear with which I’m going to start with is Mirror and other similar things like windows, glass wardrobes and doors. Mirror is used for watching your own reflection when windows and doors are used for getting in and out. What do those two different things have in common? One answer is hidden in horror movies. Do you remember moments when doors are suddenly slammed by themselves? When windows are opened and curtains wave in wind? Or when mirrors show somebody who isn’t really there? Our head makes up everything. Feeling you’re not alone can be added to this fear. Even though you’re alone you sometimes imagine unknown faces in mirrors, somebody closing and opening doors or turning off the lights. You could say you don’t believe in ghosts, but your mind is making them either way. It’s kind of interesting you’re making up your fears unaware. From my own experience I somehow made theory of imagining such things. When I was home alone there was always just silence. I didn’t like the radio or music playing. Only thing that made the sound was television which I sometimes watched. Except that everything was quiet. Imagine how scared I was when doors were slamming by themselves. We often left opened windows to let air in along with wind which slammed the doors. When you’re little you made up almost everything to explain yourself what happened. It’s like your head is trying to calm you down, explaining you in its own way. It’s a bit different with mirrors. In the mirror you can see your reflection, but that’s not all what mirror shows you. It also shows you what’s behind you and that was the thing I was afraid about mirrors. I always saw every detail behind me, just hoping something won’t suddenly appear. The worst mirror at my home is the first one I see after coming from my room. It’s a big one held on the whole wall. Normally person who looks in the mirror see only himself, how is he dressed, how he looks and so on. What I see are three different doors behind me and a dark hallway. Sometimes I almost wait for something scary to happen. Again, the head plays with you making you think, the door will suddenly open or someone will appear in the darkness of the hallway. It’s so called predicted fear when you know something will happen, but don’t know what. I can explain both thoughts. The door symbolize the way, either it is the way back, the way forward or just a wall thatcan open. When you’re waiting for someone to come home you probably wait in front of the door to open and see that someone the moment he steps in the house. Imagining door open probably means you’re waiting for someone or you feel lonely and you want someone near you. Unfortunately your head makes up the wrong thing which instead of calming you down scares you. Imagining of door slam is right the opposite of the last example. You don’t like someone so much that you simply want to slam the door or you just want to be alone. There are explanations about the door, but what about appearing person? I used to see a lot of appearing persons either in mirrors, windows or glass wardrobe on the attic. I clearly remember once seeing a lady in a glass wardrobe standing right next to me. Or unknown long haired man that appeared either in my window or mirrors. I don’t know either of those two persons. I only know that I saw a lady in full version along with myself when I saw only the man’s head. I saw those two when I was alone in silence - perfect two makings to imagine fear. For some reason you like silence and loneliness, but deep down you want something more. Sound all around you or someone near you to calm you down. Your thoughts and emotions mix together, creating imaginary things. There are many people who have that kind of fear, but it’s not so bad if they know how to conquer it, either with thinking about other stuff or just looking away. You could also add fear of feeling somebody standing behind you or following you. Or when children think there are monsters hiding in their wardrobes. All that is a part of the mind game your own head plays with you. I still haven’t conquered that fear yet, but comparing it to six years in a past I’m making a great progress. Moving to the next fear Violenc which is often connected to blood, corpses and death is common fear as well. Horror and action movies are the ones mostly blamed for it, including video games and rare real life experiences. What is blood exactly? Why is blood something that can either make you sick or even faint? Some people have very sensitive stomach which makes them sick every time they see red body liquid. I don’t mind seeing myself bleeding. I mind seeing others bleed seriously, because I don’t feel their pain and I don’t know how serious it is. But the fear of violence and death is completely different story. I remember when I was eight and some of my classmates were playing interesting games on internet. Those were still the old times when computers weren't very common. Usually one played when others were watching. Most of the games weren’t that bad in fact they were funny until I saw them play one really horrible one. In the game you needed to play as the man with a chainsaw cutting things in his way, mostly furniture. Further in game there weren’t just furniture in the way but people too. Either way you needed to cut people if you wanted to play further. Classmates didn’t mind. They even laughed and made jokes on dead people. After seeing that game I started having horrible nightmares, seeing people cut on half with chainsaw. Every time action, blood or weapons were on television or computer I went away. I was scared so much about live action violence and blood, about having those nightmares again. Anger and sadness usually mixed together as my reaction to violence. I just wasn’t ready for violence in movies and I though I’ll never be. Things changed after seeing the movie Avatar. Though I had no courage to pluck in, I went to see the movie either way. It was the first time after that bloody chainsaw game that I paid attention to the amazing graphic and story itself to forget about the action in it. I found out how the action is always a part of the story and reason, not as mindless fighting with bloody ending. Fortunately, this fear can be conquered sometimes by time or by plucking courage and trying to be brave. I fully conquered that fear about four years ago - same year when I started writing. Understanding the point of the violence and the action, I can now fully imagine fighting scenes without any fear. Now I even watch horror movies without any fear, because I learnt how to watch them. Don’t look at the weapons, blood or dead bodies. Follow the story and keep close eye on things that play a big role. It’s understandable if you aren’t ready, you will be one day just watch with different point of view. Speaking about movies also makes you wonder about real life situations. Your head here again sometimes play with you in an unwanted way. When you see someone beaten up, bloody or death you somehow see yourself or person you care about in same situation. You’re afraid of this happening to you. Who isn’t afraid of pain or death? It’s a common thing every day and sometimes you have a feeling for just falling in claws of agony. It’s a hard fear which just sometimes can be conquered easily. For the fear which I strongly think everyone has is Time along with sudden changes. Have you ever had the feeling you’re late? Either for school, work or during time limits? Are you afraid of Time itself or losing it? I’ll say losing it. And how about sudden changes? If you’re a really planning person you get the strong feeling when the whole thing isn’t going as you planned. You could also add fear of messing up things. When you have all time in the world, nothing to worry about everything seems alright. But then you must suddenly plan something, get ready for a contest or make things. That’s when that fear gets you. You’re afraid you’ll run out of time, do things in a wrong way and get punishment for it. Being afraid of mistakes is completely normal, the way more than not admitting your mistakes. This fear tells you’re a thinking person who likes to know his/her future before it happens. You want to make plans all the time in order to have good future. If this planning person is organised in a right way and keeps being successful then fear gradually fades because the person’s mind is determined in order to do things in the right way. Mind literally doesn’t have time to mess with your head. Sometimes I have a lot of trouble doing things in short period of time. I’m really trying to become more organised person because I see for example how my drawings are created. During a really short periods my drawings are made in a rush with many missing details. Drawing relaxed is completely different story. You’re completely focused in the picture not the clock next to you. Even now, I’m thinking how late it is and how little time I have. Fear of messing things is worse than time. I keep thinking something bad will happen if I don’t do things the right way. Because of it I have this annoying habit that I rather ask for instructions ten times than mess up one single time. Sometimes it comes handy when other times you turned out to be weird. Sudden changes are also breaking my nerves. I mean you have everything planned not worried about everything then suddenly a situation changes and you must do everything from the beginning only in shorter time. I keep trying not to worry about this so much, but you know sometimes worrying is good. It also helps you consider things for which you aren’t sure. Ever heard of stage or examination fright? Fear before exams or performances? For exams I know I’ll always be nervous, it’s natural. Good thing is I’m calmed down the moment I get the exam in my hands. Performances often gave me hard time. I play the keyboard and every time I had a performance the stage fright wasn’t away much. I defeated the stage fright about a year ago when I played the keyboard for the first time truly relaxed. There were kids who were supporting both me and other members of the band with their voices. We were playing for both of them and us. Combination of relaxation and harmony can help you lose stage fright. Also the fear of losing can also be mentioned here ( just remember Eraques' words: "Terra, you mussn't be afraid of losing.") Recently I had a skiing accident at the skiing contest in which I seriously injured my leg. People kept asking me if I will continue skiing after that kind of event. I will ski, but I don’t think I’ll go on the contest. Fear of time and losing made me careless, so from this experience victory isn’t the first in line. It’s me and doing my best. Thinking about common fears again have you ever been afraid of Space? Not the one with starts and planets, the one around you in house, forest or nature. Does word claustrophobia or claustrophilia ring any bells? I’m sure they do. Being afraid of closed space, caught somewhere with not possible escape sure is the thing to send shivers in your skin. Common people with claustrophobia are usually afraid of crowds, small thigh places like elevators, windowless rooms and even tight-necked clothing. Sometimes claustrophobia can cause really strong panic attacks, increasing the heart beat to the point of falling into unconsciousness. Usually claustrophobic fear is cause of traumatic events like being locked in dark room, getting lost in the crown and other similar events. I’m actually right the opposite of claustrophobia though I had some fears connected to it. I have claustrophillia, I’m afraid of too much space. When claustrophobic people are afraid of small dark places, I see shelter in them. Since I was little I’ve been enjoying hiding in such places and even made them. A blanket, broom, some pillows and I made perfect little tent. I felt safe in such a mini shelter and I still do. For some reason little places where I hide make me calm down and safe. Also when I sleep, I’m always turned to the wall with blanket over my head. I also make sure I’m completely wrapped in blanket with no feet exposed. For some reason I feel as I’m in smaller room. My fear appears when I’m not sleeping in my own bed or bed which isn’t close to the wall. If there’s no wall I feel surrounded, vulnerable without any shelter. Only blanket makes me feel safe. I also remember once when I was in a bit fancier hotel with my parents. I had my own room which was literally huge. Bed was king-sized in the middle of the room. Despite the luxury I still didn’t feel safe. Being in that huge bed felt as being exposed as someone could grab you. There wasn’t anything that could make me feel safe. Everywhere I looked was a lot of space. In the end I made wall of pillows, basically building myself in them. Another fear is crowds. This is more claustrophobic, where I don’t mind if crowd is in small place. Problem is the crowd in open space where you can get lost. My fear of crowds comes from event which for me was traumatic. I think I was five or even younger when our school had some sort of concert. Everyone was dancing, both older and younger kids. I was in that crowd not minding all the people and laud music. Fear started when I had enough and I wanted to go back in class. But I couldn’t. There were so many older kids blocking way. I said if they could let me through. Either they didn’t hear me or didn’t care, they didn’t let me through. My panic was rising when I started shouting and they still didn’t care. I remember crying when they didn’t let me go through only continuing dancing. I even remember one girl who was laughing so hard. Crying and panic kept rising with others still enjoying. They didn’t care about little kid who was trapped in circle of bodies. I don’t know how much time I was in that crowd. I finally got out when one of the teachers pulled me out. I still cried hours after. When I’m looking at crowds I keep trying to forget, but one photo keeps reminding me. On it is five year old me with well known singer holding microphone in front of my mouth on that day. I was so talkative that time that singer called me to sing something. I don’t remember what exactly I said. I only remember crowd that appears shortly after it. Other than that, crowd and singer appear in my mind when I see that photo. I don’t want to throw it away, but also not keep it as memorable thing. I could count more and more fears connecting the space, but you would have a bit trouble understanding them if not looking from my point of view. The thing is everyone sees places and space in different way. Mind reaction depends on your personality you build in childhood. A lot people are afraid. Their fears can be common, dependable on childhood events or simply there. Fear must be faced one day or will stay in you forever. Take a deep breath and answer on next two questions for ending: What is your fear and do you know how to defeat it? L.P. Hawk
