4. Luminous Engine and Agni's Philosophy Pics and Details Take the real time vs Visual Works CG test for Square Enix's next gen engine. Impress Watch contributor Zenji Nishikawa has posted a report on Square Enix's Luminous Engine and the Agni's Philosophy demo that debuted at E3 last week. As usual, the report is full of exclusive details via a developer interview. It also has some new pics of the demo and the engine's various tools. The interview was with Square Enix CTO Yoshihisa Hashimoto, Square Enix Technology Division Lead Artist Ryo Iwata, Square Enix Visual Works Chief Creative Director and Senior Manager Takeshi Nozue, Square Enix Technology Division Lead Engineer Hiroshi Iwasaki and Square Enix Technology Division Senior R&D Engineer Remi Driancourt. Hashimoto said that the goal of the Agni project was to offer in realtime visuals that would normally be shown prerendered. He served as producer and director, directing both the content and the technology and also handling management and quality checks. Iwata was lead artist on the Agni project. He designed the main character, Agni. The world view, setting and framework were created during discussions between himself, Nozue and Hashimoto. He also worked on the pipeline that was used by artists to convert the Visual Works pre-rendered CG movie data into data for the real time demo clip. Nozue headed up script writing, art direction and event/stage direction. He also directed the pre-rendered CG that would serve as the base for the real time demo video. The Agni's Philosophy realtime demo uses pretty much the same content data that was used in the pre-rendered footage that Visual Works created. The realtime demo runs on a high spec PC with 64 bit Windows 7. The PC was made from standard off-the-shelf parts bought from a PC shop. The staff would not disclose the maker or specific specs, but Hashimoto said to consider it at the same level of specification as the PCs used by other developers when they show their technology demos. The graphics specifications of the realtime demo include 1920x1080 full HD resolution, variable framerate between 30 and 60, FP16 (16 bit floating point) format for HDR rendering. A single frame as between 5 million and 10 million polygons. This includes unseen polygons used in post shadow generation and post processing. Here are some comparison pics showing the Visual Works pre-rendered movie with the real time demo Visual Works (left), Real Time (right) Visual Works (left), Real Time (right) The Agni's Philosophy credits showed a "Yebis" logo. No, that's not the beer. Yebis is a post effect middleware from Silicon Studio (the 3D Dot Game Heroes studio -- they also make middleware). These scenes show Yebis2 in action. These scenes of Agni and the old guy show the demo's "eyeball shader." Visual Works CG uses raytracing for eyeball rendering. Raytracing would be difficult in realtime at present, so they fake it with this shader.
5. Sokuho@Hokanko has posted a more detailed summary of Famitsu's big Tales of Xillia 2 feature, which included an interview with Tales series producer Hideo Baba. Development is currently at 60% There are still a number of unannounced details regarding gameplay and story. The new XDR-LMBS battle system is meant to deliver the taste of Graces and Xillia Elle is the youngest heroine in Tales history. She's also the first heroine to not take part in battle since Tales of Rebirth. Just because Elle can't be used in battle doesn't mean you're limited to main character Rudger. During battle, you'll be able to select the party member you'd like to control. Each member has different specialties. While Ufotable and Ayumi Hamasaki are returning for, respectively, the game's animation and theme song, they're putting in effort to make sure they exceed the original. Kosuke Fujishima and Mutsumi Inomata, the originals' character designers, will have some involvement in the game. Baba assured that it will be something that will make fans happy. Rudger's name has some meaning, but this is being kept secret for now. One major difference from the original: while Xillia was a story about adventuring alongside other characters, in Xillia 2 they want you to feel like you are Rudger. There's a major path for the story, so you won't be able to branch off into countless paths. However, you will find that the overall impression and your method for progress changes greatly depending on your choices. The theme of "Are you prepared to destroy the world" is not just related to the story, but to the gameplay as well. The gameplay systems are made so that you'll feel the meaning of your choices. Will you head to Liese Maxia, the setting of the original? Baba wouldn't say for sure but he did say that they're hoping to meet fan expectations and we should wait for a followup report. The story of Xilia 2 begins in the city of Trigraf, which in addition to being home to main character Rudger, is also home to the rapidly growing Klanspia Company (we may have gotten the name wrong in our first report) . As detailed earlier, Klanspia is a major corporation that commands top share in a number of fields.
6. Even though i am not a big fan of romantic movies,i like this one:Meet Joe Black Its about the Devil the incarnation of death taking the form of a human wanting to understand how humans react to death and love And even though he is a monster with no feelings serving as the person who brings people who are about to die in the other world, he falls in love with a woman and he starts to feel emotions and love, It has a great ending that shows his thoughs about the living and the dead and how we never forget our loved ones Great Performance from Brad Pit as the devil who transforms into a human and experiencing the human world as an outsider,he learns about love and fear of death Anthony Hopkins an an old millionaire that has a few days left until he dies and thus he meets the devil(Brad Pit)who wants to spend a few days with him and his family as a human to experience the human world The conversations bettween the old man(Hopkins) and the devil (Pit) about the dead and the living ,human love and despair are amazing with great script that makes you wonder about life and how we spend our time Also i like the contrast in the relationship a young woman full of life that falls in love with the incarnation of death
