  1. It's between I.5 and II.8 but I have to go with II.8. As much as I like the simplicity of I.5's cover, II.8 just makes better use of space and design. The joyful expressions of I.5 go a long way, but I like the mix of happy and determined faces that II.8 carries, giving us the feel of a real adventure. And the balance of the characters in the top corner looking off into the distance over the bold design choice of all the DDD characters facing towards us - even marching towards us - head on, it's great. It's the backgrounds that really sell it for me though. The DDD part using three-point perspective to split the game off with the round room, where the climax of the game takes place, is fantastic. And the other two games sharing the same beautiful sky, with the lighter part of the sky being on the Back Cover side of the box back when the world was full of light before falling to darkness, and the darker part of the sky being in the 0.2 part of the box where the story takes place in the realm of darkness. Well, you get the idea.
  2. Thing is, the characters haven't actually died. Death as it is established in the series has only actually been shown to happen to a select number of Disney villains. Becomeing a heartless is not death. The destruction of a nobody is not death. Rejoining with your orginal self as a nobody is not death. Even Ansem merely disappeared after the machine blew up. Literally anything could have happened to him but everybody just assumed he was dead since he never reappeared within the same game. Nobody ever came out and said "This person is dead" at any point, so if you feel cheated that these characters are returning, you only have yourself to blame. There was definitely tragedy associated with these scenes. Even now, not just at the time, there still is. Loss is still being suffered. Pain is still being endured. There's still a cost to be paid. Don't devalue that in the face of the desire for death in a story you're invested in. A story doesn't need death for the sake of death, just as it doesn't not need revival for the sake of not having revival. The story is heading in a much more uplifting and heartwarming direction full of many more new possibilities thanks to the return of characters who were denied the right to exist by forces beyond their control despite their clear emotional wishes to live as themselves, to be their own people, to not have to make those sacrifices. They've given us powerful moments of sacrfice nonetheless due to not having any other choice at the time, but this isn't the series hitting an "undo" button later in the same game. We're almost a year onwards in-universe and 6-8 years or so out of universe. We've moved on. We're moving forward. We're paying back these people for those sacrifices they made and giving them the lives they always wanted, provided they stop Xehanort in the process. The stakes are higher and the reward is bigger. We're not just fighting to stop evil, we're fighting to give these lost hearts a second chance. If you don't think that's beautiful because you think Kingdom Hearts isn't depressing enough for your tastes, I don't know what to tell you.
  3. You know that's what Back Cover is, right? I'm basically echoing what everyone else says at this point, but while it wouldn't be impossible to turn the original Kingdom Hearts into a movie, there'd be no point to doing that if you weren't going to cut it down an awful lot, skim over important details in a game that skimmed over important details itself and end on a cliffhanger that promises sequels that can never be made because it would be near impossible to do any other game. It'd be way more worthwhile to do something original, which is such an interesting topic all on its own. The question becomes whether the story is something from a point in the canon timeline, or something more creatively fresh within the vast possibilities this universe gives us. All these worlds, all these characters, all these franchises and elements to the universe. Anything could be done. I'd personally be happy to see an original tale set with a new cast of characters somewhere outside the established events or places of the KH story as it stands. You'd have far more creative freedom over what kind of story you could tell, while still being established in the KH lore of keyblades, heartless, worlds, etc. If not that, I do think that a detailed look at Ansem and his apprentices is long overdue. It may not be the most action-packed story, but it's a story that needs to be told in one form or another. Then again, I'd also be first in line to see a film where Buzz Lightyear travels the worlds in order to gather the forces of Hercules, Stitch, Elsa, Luke Skywalker, Lightning and Captain America in order to thwart the combined might of Zurg and Kefka. A ridiculous idea like that can work in Kingdom Hearts and it's always bothered me that Disney and Square Enix haven't capitalised on any of that potential. A movie would be a good excuse to run wild.
  4. Man, I've never even considered this before. I would have said Gogo or Fred, but the fact that the world is getting a unique story with it is too interesting. I want to know where they're going with Dark Baymax.
  5. You know, for the record, his name would definitely be Braig. The Xigbar we see in DDD is Xigbar as he is not only notated as Xigbar in the journal, but Young Xehanort directly calls him Xigbar at one point. The question still remains as to which one is reformed and which one is from time travel. I'm more inclined to think Braig is the time travel one though. The present day Xigbar would be the most aged one, I would assume.
  6. I feel like this question just boils down to which character you'd like to hang out with. So for me it'd probably be Roxas or Xion. Xigbar's always a laugh though.
  7. This question makes no sense to me because we don't know who any of the 7 lights are going to be. The question presumes that the keyblade wielders Mickey listed, who aren't even half the candidates, will be the first 6 lights used in the X-blade, a fusion the heroes want to prevent, not gather the troops to allow. the whole debate is practially moot because they could be almost anyone from Kairi to Namine, from Donald to Goofy, from Roxas to Ventus, from Sora to Alice.
  8. As someone who owned a PS2 and owns a PS3 and a PS4, I need to go with the Vita. It has such a poor reputation that I will never understand because the only downside it has for me is the price of its memory cards. Aside from that, it's exceptional. Excellent Vita games, facilitates PSP and PS1 games, incredible on a technological level and the battery life is beautiful. I've poured hundreds of hours into it. Absolutely top.
  9. I second this. Also a vote for the later HP games to be remade. Harry Potter video games have such potential and deserve better.
  10. I don't really care that it's being delayed, since the reasons given are perfectly reasonable. I am glad for all the people, which seems to be an impressive majority, who are taking it well and being supportive. The only apathy I have is for the people throwing entitled hissy fits over their precious game being held back a couple of months for what is definitely going to be the final time. Yes, Square Enix gave us a whole event with the release date of the game being the grand reveal of it. That's exactly why this was a very hard decision for them.
  11. I vote for the guy who can do upside down vertical push-ups while magically maintaining his ridiculous trousers so that they don't fall down past his legs.
  12. I've never really had a problem with Vanitas or Data Xigbar, and I'd argue that the fight against Chernabog in DDD is more for the sake of aesthetic and style than a challenging boss fight. We already had a fight where we smacked him in the head until he died so turning him into a memorable Dive mission was a cool change of pace. I wouldn't say I'm fussed to defend the other ones though. Birth by Sleep in general suffers from what has to be the weakest combat system. Every battle in that game is kind of a chore. Love the music, though.
  13. I'm gonna be a total maverick and go against the crowd and make the unpopular decision of voting for Sony.

I don't think the points of the first post are very convincing, but I do like the theory of Ira being the traitor. The situation with Aced looks a lot like a red herring to me. There may not be a leader among them, but he does seem to be the one who gives the most direction and takes a lot of initiative. I feel like he's at risk of going down a dark path due to overthinking or underthinking the situation. He's clearly putting a lot of thought towards what to do and talking to everyone around him. Perhaps he will take a violent course of action in an effort to prevent the coming chaos that will inadvertantly cause it. Or perhaps he will begin to lose hope and give in to his despair. Or perhaps he's lying to everyone and is deliberately manipulating events to his preference. Anything is possible. But I'm not going to jump at any possibilities until I see the truth for myself. The uncertainty helps make this fun.
  15. No Man's Sky comes out within the same month as E3. I'm excited for the game, but I really don't need to see any more of it. I'm ready for its release. Hoping for KH2.8 stuff, but not KH3. Everything at its own pace. Likewise, I hope to see signs of an English dub for Persona 5, but I feel like we've already gotten enough for a while concerning FFXV. More English dub stuff would be nice, I guess. I hope to see The Last Guardian and Shenmue 3 just for the sake of the reassurance for the big fans of those games that they're on the way. Ultimately, I'm really excited for FFVII Remake stuff, Horizon Zero Dawn showing off its progress, maybe some more info on Dreams, and seeing some gameplay from Detroit Beyond Human. New games would be great too. Maybe Naughty Dog will announce their next project. Massive fingers crossed for something Jak and Daxter related.
  16. Zoran Lazarević. "I am SURROUNDED by TRAITORS and FOOLS!"
  17. Uncharted 2. A big improvement on Uncharted 1, whereas Uncharted 3 was a step backwards in many regards.
  18. Do the Pokemon movies count? Actually, the Persona 3 movies are excellent.
  19. I picked "Something else" because I want all of them. Kingdom Hearts board games of everything. I cannot choose. I will not choose. Everything.
