August launched himself into the plane and immediatly closed the door behind Marcus. Turning to the captain and not quite realizing that the co captain was still outside with some other workers, August shouted "It's time to go!"

Knight Chronicles: Gigas Awakening
Not-with-a-whimper replied to Not-with-a-whimper's topic in Roleplaying
As the ax struck, the magic binding the human to the gigas disappeared and the human simply collapsed to the ground unconsious. "Wow," thought Joseph as he turned to face the massive knight, "I'm glad he's on our side." -
I know Damion personally (we eat lunch together basically every day) so I'll talk to him about it. He'll more than likely agree. Get ready for some high speed fancy flying, cause something's about to go down.

That's the easiest way to get away with bringing some of them back but leaving others out of it, and we all know how much Nomura enjoys manipulating cheap plot devices. Thinking about all of the random heartless and faceless nobodies you kill in the games, I'm sure that Sora unintentionally revived a random person to life. Are they going to show that? Nope.

Scardigne launched himself into the air to avoid the large bursts of fire which were doing heavy structural damage to the building, making Scardigne wonder how much longer the building would hold out until it began to collapse. With a few slashes, Scardigne sent blades of energy at James, not caring if he happened to hit Joy in the process.

Two things. First off, I understand not wanting spoilers, and to my limited knowledge Sazh isn't even in FFXIII-2 (not even in cut scenes), so he wouldn't know Caius at all. If you're accepted, which I assume you will be because it's doubtful anyone would turn down one of, if not the, best writer this rp has, then I think it would be cool for you to be the pilot of the plane that August and Marcus are in. It's just a thought, of course, but I figured that it'd make sense and that it'd be a way to get in on the action fast.

Knight Chronicles: Gigas Awakening
Not-with-a-whimper replied to Not-with-a-whimper's topic in Roleplaying
Joseph, in shock, simply stood back, mouth agape, at the sudden change in events. "A knight?" he thought, "But how?" -
Scardigne ignored the newcomer for now, instead choosing to focus on James who was currently the biggest threat. He was glad to have back up in this fight, but knew that soon the uneasy truce would end and that the new guy, "Joy", the girl had called him, would just be another target to cleanse the world of.
-
August imperceptivly nodded his head in agreement and rushed towards the plane as fast as he could go, his speed increasing with every step he took. He heard gunshots behind him, but didn't dare turn around, single-mindedly running to the goal.

Not needing any more prompting, Anfang swooped in and grabbed Taylor, flying after Takku. She was much easier to hold now that his body was bigger. It wasn't near as awkward. He really wished that he'd grow a little faster than that, but beggars can't be choosers. After landing and sitting Taylor down next to Takku, Anfang noticed Raditz's odd clothing. "Whoa man, what's up with the clothes?" he asked. Raditz looked annoyed at first, but soon got over it and replied. "I'm the manager at a kid's toy store, okay? Don't you dare laugh! Besides, working there and being good with kids is what got me my smoking hot wife," he said as he pulled a photo out of his wallet. Noticing that Taylor was still close, Anfang felt he had to temper his response. "She, uh, looks very nice," he said, while Uncle Leroy, within Anfang's mind, proclaimed, "What a LADY! Dang! That's one hot piece of..." Suddenly Anfang cut him off. "Uncle Leroy!" he shouted inwardly. "What?" Uncle Leroy replied. "I was going to say woman. What did you think I was going to say?" Embarrassed, Anfang answered "Oh, nothing."

Facing the remaining penguins, August used Inferno to spontaneously burst into flames, scaring the penguins, who had never seen fire before, away. Just as he was about to get Jenova's head he heard a mysterious voice call out "I wouldn't do that if I were you. You see, I seek the destruction of all things, and the person you're getting that for is playing his role in my plan very well at this point." August looked around desperately for the voices origin as he grabbed the head and cautiously began stepping back towards the plane. (OOC: Damion and I discussed this before-hand.)

(Easy. Invent a character to take the place of Cid from FFVII and have him take you in his impossibly fast airship. That's what I'd do, anyway.) Scardigne began to struggle with an internal conflict over the whole "law" issue until he was confronted with a massive fireball coming at him. He managed to block it, but was struck in the back with the Masumune (sorry if I misspelled that). "No," he thought, pushing through the pain, "they are just casualties of war!" Scardigne began to draw in energy from all around him and unleashed it in a burst of concussive force with himself as the origin point. (I'm basing his and Vaan's movesets off of Dissidia because in ffxii everyone was pretty undefined.)
-
Scardigne parried them with a few energy blades of his own and then leaped into the air to pull a heavy dual wielding overhead chop. As he was doing all of this Judge Gabranth spoke through him, scoffed, and replied, "What side? Ha! The law is unbiased and never wavering. All of you are breaking the laws of this world simply by existing, and it is my divine duty to uphold the law by erasing all of you, before myself falling back from whence I came."

KH3D Olympus Colosseum replacement?
Not-with-a-whimper replied to Pandora333's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
While it provides a great gameplay opportunity, the scenery and music during the games in both Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts II got incredibly old. I feel that this will definitely be it's replacement, otherwise why the word "Colosseum" be on it? -
What is your favourite Final Fantasy game?
Not-with-a-whimper replied to Sora96's topic in Poll of the Week
I love them all, but my favorite would have to be a small spin off title in the Ivalice Alliance entitled "Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift". I don't really know what it was about that game, but I love the heck out of it. Probably my favorite game outside of the Kingdom Hearts series. After that I'm going to have to go with Final Fantasy X, but I love the entire world of Final Fantasy VII a ton. -
Knight Chronicles: Gigas Awakening
Not-with-a-whimper replied to Not-with-a-whimper's topic in Roleplaying
Joseph quickly launched a slew of Mana Thrusts at the arm which was tightly "frabbing" (because that's what you said lol. I love typos, they make things funny) Gen. Joseph's nose suddenly began bleeding slightly from over exertion. "Great," he thought as the Gigas's scythe swung around towards him. Joseph ducked under the blade but was unprepared for when the Gigas slammed its foot down at him, knocking him back. He landed next to Gen's dagger so he tossed it to the ground near her. Seph temporarily considered using a heal spell on himself but decided it would be useless. What good would it do if healing himself caused just as much strain on his body as the outside damage? Getting up to his wobbly feet, Joseph took a few steps forward. What he would give for the ability to regenerate Mana with not but a simple prayer as he'd seen others do! -
Taylor, wonderful as ever, had managed to easily convince Anfang's parents that it would be just fine to let him do these "extra curricular activities" with Takku, so over the last two years Anfang and Takku trained like crazy. It had mostly consisted of Takku beating the living crud out of him and then letting him heal and increase in power-level before fighting him again. Anfang was sure that it was probably his imagination, but he felt like he got better a lot faster when around Taylor. Even though Anfang could increase in power-level unlike most androids, the process was incredibly slow and difficult. Infuriated at one point, Anfang yelled at Takku, infuriated that he had to continue doing this stuff. "Why do I have to continue to work so hard to get stronger?" he asked. "I'm stronger than the vast majority of the people I know," he continued. Takku quickly dispatched Anfang mercilessly, leaving the teen coughing up blood on the ground. "What if I had been against you huh? What if I'd wanted to destroy the entire planet?" he asked rhetorically. "What would you do to stand up for yourself? What would you sacrifice for her?" he questioned, looking at Taylor pointedly. From that point on Anfang had no complaints. Anfang's power-level increased, but only to the extent that it matched what Goku's had been two years before when Anfang had fought him. Goku's power-level, on the other hand, had increase far more rapidly than Anfang's had, leaving Anfang in the dust. Due to his training, Anfang had begun to look older and more defined, growing from looking like a five year old to appearing to be about twelve. Taylor, on the other hand, seemed not to change at all over the two years. Anfang had been practicing nearly non-stop, and had learned Masenko from his master as a result. Anfang had also been developing his own take on the ability recently, but was not looking forward to the first time he would have to use it on an adversary.

Scardigne/Gabranth: Scardigne, having blocked the Firaga with his swords with a small amount of success, still getting burnt but avoiding the worst of it, turned to look at what was going on with Chuck and Mariah. To his surprise, Chuck was no where to be found and Mariah was once again rushing James. Scardigne joined her and ran toward the silver haired enemy. As they were rushing him, Scardigne called out, "You, go and get the male. We won't be able to hold out very long without him. I can keep this monstrosity's attention for a short time, however, now go!" August/Vaan: "Crud, I guess it's time for the fire to dissipate. Cold, here I come!" he called out, aware that that he couldn't very well move through a crowd of penguins while on fire. His energy levels were pretty good considering how long he'd kept the concurrence up and how powerful it was. The connection of energy seemed to have something to do with August and Vaan's combined wills.

The Rise of Heroes: Clash of Nations
Not-with-a-whimper replied to Damion Strife's topic in Roleplaying
"Never fly again?" asked Medens. Sure the medicine and supplies here at camp was rudimentary at best, but he wondered if perhaps magic might be able to help, at least in some small capacity. "Is there anything you think I could do to help?" he pleaded, looking to Mallik. It was all his fault. If Meden's had simply known, had simply dispatched the girl right then and there... then what? Did he not think they would retaliate due to their loss? An endless war of never ending violence, forever getting revenge in greater and greater ways, calling in turn for a greater revenge for that. What was the point? Maybe Medens could discover it later, but for now he had a wounded friend to attend to. -
Video Spiderman can't stick to walls.
Not-with-a-whimper replied to Robbie the Wise's topic in Random & Forum Games
Please don't post things like this. I need to breathe and non-stop laughing makes it soooo hard. Plus, I died all over again. -
It's fine. I thought it was a little funny. We'd been talking a lot about the French Revolution in World History II class, and there was a whole lot of decapitation going on
-
I just now read the remainder of the story and I'd like to say two things. First off, great job! I really liked it. Secondly, Jesse said in chapter 18 that he'd "decapitated" (meaning the cutting off of a head) Minerva instead of "decapasitated" (meaning knocked out). The story read a little differently for me until I realized what you'd meant.

(OOC: Lol, my bad, terribly sorry about that. Edited.)

Not letting his enemy's distraction slip by, Scardigne rushed as James and crossed both swords in front of himself, lunging forward in a continuous body blow.

KHCoM Re:CoM - is it hard to learn?
Not-with-a-whimper replied to Exlon's topic in Kingdom Hearts - General
At the very beginning of the game when your pool of cards to choose from is incredibly limited the game isn't very fun at all and you don't generally do terribly well. Once you get going in the game and get enough cards, however, the game becomes quite enjoyable. I have hints for Sora and hints for Riku, so I will list them separately. Sora: Get as many cards from chests and moogles as you can and level up, mostly cp and, if you're like me, slights. With Sora you can fully customize your deck, so take advantage of that by setting up a system that works. I have two decks. One for bosses, one for heartless. Heartless are physically incapable of using slights, so they will never play anything higher than a nine (they only play nines in special "more powerful" rooms, otherwise they use eight max). Take advantage of that by setting up a string of powerful slights in your deck before hand. With said slights you will be able to rather easily defeat the heartless and they will be incapable of breaking them and attacking you. With bosses, who can use slights and zeroes and the like, I usually just put in a number of powerful, high number attack cards and beat the crud out of them, keeping a few cure cards and zeroes in the back of the deck for when I got hit or when they wanted to use a slight. Sora's mode isn't difficult game play wise, you just have to go into battle with a well thought out deck. Riku: You can't control the cards he has, so learn where his cards are in each new deck and pay attention to the duel situations you find yourself in. Often there are no more than one or two ways to win the duels. Leveling up is good, and waiting for an enemy to play a card for you to break to get darkness points is helpful, but the most important thing is utilizing the enemy cards that Riku gets for free. Don't be stingy with them. If you don't use them, they'll simply go to waste. Also, King Mickey cards are the only way other than the Oogie Boogie card for Riku to heal himself, so learn to use them wisely. That's all I've got, have fun with the game!
