  1. A much better place to live. =) They're a fun pastime, hobby, and social event.
  2. No, I'm really being serious, it was really strange. I'm pretty sure it's from the beginning of the game, when Twilight Town freezes and Namine walks up to Roxas and says his name.
  3. So this one time I was playing KH2 on the PS2 when my sister asked me if she could turn it off. I was like "ok" and we turned off and UNPLUGED the PS2. A few minutes later, footsteps suddenly came from the TV, and the screen began to get all staticy. Me and my sister flipped out and then Namine's voice said something like "Roxas..." Then, the T.V blacked out and everything seemed normal again.o-o it was a bit weird, to say the least.
  4. Thank you! Haha, I just added a rough outline of the story. If I ever were to flesh it out I'd add dialogue.
  5. That's....actually a really really really awesome idea. =D You know, you should be in the game industry- you have such great ideas!!!!
  6. Yep! I've been working with Gamemaker for fun (not to make an actual game) and I've found myself really enjoying every aspect of it.(Exceept for testing it for bugs. ._. so tedious) =D Thank you!!
  7. I had this really brilliant idea for a game, and I can't seem to let it go. =D System: Wii U Setting: Future. The main part of the story takes place in a dusty central town, but it diverges into different areas in the same general area. Story Premise: A girl named Mina lives in a society where girls are strictly forced to do intelligent mentally challenging work while men are forced to do labor and other physical tasks. While in the future, most common families have little technology, at most limited to household items such as fridges, stoves, televisions, and so forth. No devices such as computers or internet connecting devices are allowed. Disturbing beasts of abnormal size and appearance roam the land. Around the edges of the land is a barrier, that cannot be touched, passed through, or broken using anything. The game begins with her at her graduation, nervously waiting to see who will be selected to move on to higher studies. Unfortunately, she is not selected, meaning that she will be forced into some job she does not want such as accounting, banking, stocking, etc. Depressed, she goes home to her room. Her mother, feeling sorry for her, walks into her room. Her mother works at the Ancient Devices storeroom, where, as the name implies, ancient devices are stored and recorded in an orderly way. Mina has a strange love of these odd technologies, and so her mother secretly (and against protocol) brings her an old tablet. The tablet advertises an “endless battery life” and “no need to charge”. Mina happily thanks her mother, and opens the package. As she plays with the forbidden device, she accidentally taps on the Video Calling button, and calls a number unintentionally. On the other end, another young girl picks up. The two begin to talk, and the girl (Pauline) doesn’t believe Mina when Mina describes her world. Pauline describes a world much like our own, with technological advances, confusing Mina. Eventually, the two realize that, for some reason, Mina’s society has been cut off from regular society and technology. Mina sets out to find out why with Pauline and her tablet at her side. Art style: https://plus.google.com/photos/117021056461997671318/albums/5896508262269721841/5896508259907888194?pid=5896508259907888194&oid=117021056461997671318 Similar to the character design I posted- a very bare and simple art style- the environments are lineless and extremely simple in idea, yet considerably detailed. (So, the objects themselves are simple, but the whole environment has a lot to it.) Gameplay: The Wii U gamepad will function as Mina’s “tablet”. Using the tablet, she can access various “apps” to help her on her journey, (ex. Flashlight, map, camera, etc.) The tablet (as it is the future) can also transform into tangible objects when needed (rope, items, weapons, etc.). She can fight, explore, solve puzzles in the environment, hack technologies (including monsters) and even waste time playing mini-games on the tablet. She can also use the “call” button to call Pauline, who will function as a hint system when called. So basically, the gamepad can transform into anything, it functions like a real tablet with apps, it can hack devices and monsters, she can use it to fight, solve puzzles, explore, get hints, and essentially do everything in the game. To add to the realism, when Mina turns the tablet “off”, the screen will go black, but it will display the reflection of what it’s around in the environment. So, if Mina turns it off in front of her face, on the Wii U screen , you can see a hazy dim reflection of her face, similar to how you would in real life. Continued Story: As Mina and Pauline explore, they meet a boy named Paulo who is very scrawny and small. He is very smart however, but hates having to do laborious work. They travel throughout their world, trying to find out what’s going on. Eventually, they find that the government cut them off from society in order to test what would happen if a society were ever placed in a deadly environment, and learn from what they observed. At times, various technologies are dropped into the land for the leader or found in odd place for unknown reasons. The leader of the society, a smiling happy woman, is the only one who knows about everything and reports back to the government. Mina and the others are horrified, and set out to stop her. Pauline decides to go to the press with evidence of Mina’s horrible world. However, when Mina is about to begin filming her life, the smiling happy woman literally DESTROYS her tablet. Mina is horrified, and she goes home depressed. The mayor puts Mina’s mother on house arrest and fines them for possession of illegal devices. Mina is heartbroken, but then Paulo appears at her house with a gift… another tablet, almost identical to her first one. Paulo made it himself after observing her tablet. He admits to secretly taking apart her tablet to see how it was made. Mina calls Pauline again, and converges what happened. Mina then begins filming, and sends it to Pauline. Pauline then gives it to the press. The next day, the mayor finds Mina and Paulo at the top of the town’s clock tower, and begins screaming at them, threatening to destroy them for what they’ve done. She then begins a fight with them, during which Mina must fend her off, but Paulo finds that the Clock Tower is really a communication device and a WiFi tower that the mayor uses to contact the government. Mina then has to fend off the mayor and hack the tower. After hacking the tower, the WiFi on her tablet goes out, the little power that the town uses dies out, and all the monsters begin falling dead on the spot. The mayor, horrified, jumps towards her to throttle her… and Mina steps out of the way, causing the mayor to plummet to her untimely death. Mina and Paulo then realize that the mayor’s henchmen are after them, and run to the edge of the barrier. As they approach, suddenly, the barrier begins shattering- all around them, even the sky begins falling to the ground. The camera zooms to outside the barrier, camouflaged as clouds in the sky. Mina and Paulo take cover from the falling shards, and after a massive earthquake, they look up to see the barrier gone, and the true sky looking down on them. They walk towards the edge of their world, and look out to see a country below them, full of cities and skyscrapers. A plane passes by them, as realization hits them. Their world was a floating island above Pauline’s country, hidden from view… and right below them is the real world. So yeah what do you think? =D Feedback is welcome!
  8. Thank you! =D
  9. Something about this sketch seems off... I'm about to start coloring, so I need some help fixing whatever it is bothering me... (I think it's the anatomy? Or maybe the composition... ._.)) EDIT: URGH the file won't load let me try again...
  10. A2??? =D ((Edited the square and edited in a redraw of Kairi I did. I then overlayed my drawing atop Nomura's, then added some more effects to the whole square.)) http://fav.me/d6bu3mn
  11. 1.) When a government official is accused of a crime.2.) Johnson and Clinton3.) Nada, none. 4.) Violating any U.S law that has a heavy punishment. So I won't put speeding on the highway in this category, but I'd consider armed robbery or murder "high crimes or misdemeanor."=D
  12. Trying to figure out how his clothes work makes me DiZzy.
  13. I like the new models...except for, as you said, small details. Sora has huge short-pants that are too big even for him (but they're changing his outfit so hopefully then they'll fix it), Goofy has anorexic ankles, and Donald surprisingly looks mostly fine.As people have said, this isn't the final model- this is just to give us a taste of the new art style- and I love it. It's not overly realistic or gritty, but it's not the blocky KH look of before either- it's a nice medium, almost like a childish watercolor painting....To be honest it reminds me of Skyward Sword's artstyle, but in better quality- which isn't a bad thing, Skyward Sword had an AMAZING art style.
  14. Hmmm...finish whatever it is you're working on- trust me, we're always our biggest critic. Show it to someone you can trust to be honest and ask them what they think. ^^ Whatever you do, god bless!
  15. After writing a large section of a story, reread it. Chances are, your first time writing something, the pacing will be off. Doing this will help you to understand where to put more details and where to shorten things. The thing NOT to do is reread every sentence ten times after you write it. When you do this, your pacing will be screwed up in your head, and you'll end up writing a good chunk of a story with horrible pacing. Learned this the hard way... Good luck with whatever it is...
  16. I screamed and I was so happy I started quivering with excitement.
  17. To everyone who asked:The thing is, I'm not sure WHAT aspect of it I want to delve into- there are so many parts of it that I love and that I could do fairly well if I tried.Thank you for all the feedback! ^^
  18. So I've been wanting to be a game designer for a while now. I have plenty of ideas (http://kh13.com/forum/topic/56912-another-game-ideaagain/ http://kh13.com/forum/topic/56789-more-game-ideas-yay/ http://kh13.com/forum/topic/55995-another-game-idea/ http://kh13.com/forum/topic/55214-video-game-idea/) , I write music, I draw fairly well, and I think up stories in my free time. The thing is though, I have ZERO programming experience. I'm going to be a tenth grader and I'm planning on enrolling in programming this coming year, but I'm still a bit afraid that this lack of programming might hinder me. So yeah this won't change my dream- I just want an honest opinion from people. Sooo yeah.
  19. That's actually a really good idea. =D Nope, never played Ni No Kuni- I assume it's similar? ^^
  20. Sorry about this, it's just I've had so many ideas recently.Feedback is welcome! Gameplay: A realtime time-based hack and slash RPG. (Phew! That’s a mouthful!) Essentially, itworks like this- the gameplay takes place in real time, and the enemies and theallies and your character can move around the playing field at any and all times,HOWEVER attacking is time based- so every five or ten seconds, control ofattacking switches between the allies and the enemies. So for five seconds, you’llbe able to attack, and then for five seconds the enemy will be able to attack, during which you’ll have to evade. During the enemy’s attack phase, you aren’t necessarilydefenseless- you can use items and move around the battlefield to youradvantage. So, if the enemy shoots fire at you, if you reflect it using theenvironment, even if it’s not your turn to attack you can still inflict damageon them. Doing various side quests will help villagers improve theiropinion of you, which in turn can lead to help in battle and various gifts. Story: You (maleor female) are a traveling swordsman (or woman) who happens to stumble upon aking being attacked by hordes of monsters. (This is the tutorial level) Aftersaving him, he invites you to his castle for dinner. You comply, and when youarrive a feast is being held. Many people are there, including his daughter, avery socially awkward but pretty girl. During the feast however, a man suddenlyappears and impales the king, much to everyone’s shock. He then declareshimself king, and runs away. The feast falls into disarray, and soon everyoneleaves. You are left alone with his servants and the daughter, who is troublebeyond comfort. Not only is her father dead, but per custom in her land, whoever kills the former leader will take his or her place- meaning that at themoment, the assassin is the king unless she kills him. You feel sorry for her,and tell her you’ll help her find her father’s killer and help her reclaim herplace as ruler. You travel through the land, gaining friends and allies andhelping villagers along the way. As you travel, you and the princess learn thather father wasn’t exactly the nicest of men- tyrannical and cruel to all belowhim, he wasn’t very well liked. Finally, you reach his killer, only to findthat he isn’t a bad man- he treats others well, and has the standings to beking. The princess is torn between killing and allowing him to be king, and shealmost kills him, before giving up. She realizes that he is indeed a good man,and she cannot kill him. However, unless she does, she will lose her standingand her title. The only option is for the two to get married- but you have anidea, and you whisper it to the man. The man then officially adopts her intohis family, making him her uncle. All seems well, as the kingdom will be wholeagain, until you stumble upon the princess crying in her room. You approach her… You: -Princess name-, what’s wrong? Princess: -sobbing- Damn this all, damn this to hell! It’sall just a game, a bloody damn game… You: W-what? Princess: Don’t play the fool- I know! I’ve always know-that this is just a game. We’re all just puppets in this show, playing along topre-scripted actions and emotions. You: …? Princess: I’ve always known. You’re just another player inthis game…we’re in a game. All this isn’t real- I’m just a character, anotherNPC, another fake person. You: W-wha-?!Princess: I’m sorry, I don’t want to tell you, but I have to…it’s been burningin my chest, and you seem to be the only person I can speak to… Look aroundyou. - The camera pans, to show the game frozen, witheven the music paused- Princess: This isn’tsupposed to happen, this conversation isn’t supposed to happen. I’m supposed torun outside and greet the people, play through an ending cutscene with you, endthe game…and the effort of this is killing me, but I have to tell someone…thisis all just a bloody game! I’ve known it from the start, every single time Iremember what happens, but no one else seems to remember. Every time someoneplays this game, another swordsman (or woman) comes in to the feast, every timeI flit around, and every time he kills my father…every time I have to play thisstupid act, go through the agonizing pain of reliving my life over and overagain, without a single true choice of my own…it’s all a bloody game. -suddenly, she gasps and kneels over- You: -Princess name-!! Princess: No, let me finish, I’m fine…I don’t want to hurtyou, but you’re the only one I felt I could tell. You have been the nicest, kindest player to ever play this game…and damn it, I’m losing hold here. But Ihave to tell you…this is from the bottom of my heart, past this game, past it’sscripted dialogue…you have been the first player to treat me like a human…andfor that, I wanted to tell you..-she gets up tenaciously, and steps towards you- Princess: -hugs you- Thank you…-suddenly, the background music comes blaring back on, and the princessstiffens, suddenly walking across the room and looking out the window- - The game unfreezes- Princess: Look, out there! All the people cheering…I feelready, like I really can rule this kingdom.-she turns towards you, but while she is smiling, her eyes look heartbroken-You: -Princess name-…-she grabs you and pulls you outside, showing crowds of cheering people below- - The ending cutscene begins, with her talking tothe people, but her eyes are dripping tears though her words are happy. Thegame pans out and begins showing everyone’s “happy ending”, and though you tryto talk to the princess, she doesn’t reply. At the end, as the game is ending, she looks at you and smiles as the screen fades into an end game screen- Music Style: Epicmedieval music. Art Style: Cartoonysoft-shaded anime style.
  21. Sora will find out to free the keyblade wielders within him he has to die, so he dies and the game ends.We never find out what happens to Xehanort.TROLLMURA WILL DO IT I ASSURE YOU.
