I picked BBS, as I feel that it tells the entire story of the events of that game while giving hope for the three characters. After that, I pick KH2, as for me, that's when I feel Shimomura began putting more depth to what I consider the series' theme.

I remember some people on other forums and online communities saying that they hated Vanitas because he was a plot device and another Sora clone. >_>

You'd be surprised at how many people actually hate Vanitas and wished he hadn't been included. I personally love him, but of course, he's not everyone's cup of tea. : /
