  1. I've always found the meanings of names pretty interesting and the meanings behind the names of the Kingdom Hearts characters are particularly interesting in how they link characters together. Therefore for anyone interested I've compiled a list of Kingdom Hearts character names and their full meanings, some of which most of you will already know and some of which you may not. 1. 'Sora' means 'sky' in Japanese 2. The 'kai' in Kairi means 'ocean' in Japanese 3. 'Riku' means 'land' in Japanese 4. 'Ventus' means 'wind' in Latin (tying him with Sora) 5. 'Aqua' means 'water' in Latin (tying her with Kairi) 6. 'Terra' means 'earth' in Latin (tying him with Riku) 7. 'Naminé' means 'ocean wave' (tying her with Kairi) 8. 'Xion', when spelt as 'shion', means 'remembrance' in Japanese (which can refer to her being created from Sora's memories and no one remembering her after she disappears). Additionally 'shio' means 'tide' which also connects her to Kairi and in the style of all Organization members her name is an anagram of 'No.i' (this being her experiment name) with an 'x' added to it. 9. 'Vanitas' means 'empty' or 'vanity' in Latin (and the name physically resembles Ventus' name). Also 'vanitas' is written in Japanese in the same way as 'sora'. 10. 'Roxas' is an anagram of 'Sora' with an 'x' added to it and comes from the name 'Rojas' meaning 'the red dawn of day'. 11. 'Eraqus' is an anagram of 'Square'. 12. 'DiZ' stands for 'Darkness in Zero' 13. 'Xemnas' is an anagram for 'Ansem' with an 'x' added. 14. 'Xigbar' is an anagram for 'Braig' with an 'x' added. 15. 'Xaldin' is an anagram for 'Dilan' with an 'x' added. 16. 'Vexen' is an anagram for 'Even' with an 'x' added. 17. 'Lexaeus' is an anagram for 'Aeleus' with an 'x' added. 18. 'Zexion' is an anagram for 'Ienzo' with an 'x' added. 19. 'Saix' is an anagram for 'Isa' with an 'x' added. 20. 'Axel' is an anagram for 'Lea' with an 'x' added. As yet I haven't found any other original Kingdom Hearts characters whose name meanings are significant (some of them do have specific meanings but their meanings aren't significant to their characters or the story in any way) but if you manage to find any I've missed please tell me
  2. Hmm maybe However that scene in the trailer only served to remind fans of the story. It isn't actually going to be in the finished game.
  3. But what if no one did know that Sora was the 'key' they were looking for? Sora and his friends would go wondering around the different worlds searching for the 'key' and then at some point something would happen to make him or someone else realise that he is the 'key'. As for how he would save everyone, I don't think it was Kairi's letter exactly that opened the door to light. Rather it was the feelings the letter stirred in Sora's heart. That's why Riku pointed to Sora's heart when Sora asked him what he thought the door to the light was. Therefore once Sora manages to find Aqua in the RoD he should be able to reopen the door by the power of his own heart. Then once Aqua is saved she will lead him to where Ven's body is hidden in Castle Oblivion. There Sora would use the powers he's discovered as the 'key' to return Ven's heart and then either during or after Xehanort has been defeated he can use those same powers to return Terra's heart. That's just my theory anyway, I could be wrong.
  4. Yeah I know that, but it's still possible that whilst Sora is destined to save everyone the 'Key to Return Hearts' may still be something separate which Sora has to find and use in order to allow him to save everyone. After all if Ansem the Wise managed to work out that Sora was the 'key' without holding more than one or two conversations with him you would think Mickey or Yen Sid would have worked it out as well. Therefore it's still possible that my theory concerning Sora being the 'Key to Return Hearts' is wrong.
  5. *Spoiler Warning for KH3, KH3D and Birth by Sleep* An idea just occurred to me whilst scanning through the various interviews on KH3. Nomura has stated that KH3 will involve a search for the 'Key to Return Hearts'. Nowhere does it actually say that this 'key' is a keyblade. So what if it's something else? Ansem the Wise said at the end of KH3D that Sora 'touches so many hearts' and maybe he could 'open the right door and save all those whose lives [Ansem had] managed to ruin'. Also before he was even born Sora was able to restore Ven's damaged heart by connecting it with his own and then he was able to call out to Ven's heart and save it from the darkness when it separated from Ven's body. Therefore what if the power to 'return hearts' actually lies within Sora? What do you think?
  6. Great job! I love all the detail on Big Ben!
  7. Yeah I wasn't sure which category to put it in!
  8. True there are many similarities there as well
  9. He can travel through space and time. He uses others to achieve his own ends. He keeps reappearing in different guises no matter how many times you think he's dead. He wishes to dominate all worlds. He has a fondness for anagrams. He takes over other people's bodies. He possesses high intelligence. His oldest form sports a beard. He likes to wear black. He is very dangerous and very evil. He is...the Master! (Some of these details refer only to the Master in the old Doctor Who series ie. pre-21st Century. You can find these references on Wikipedia.)
  10. Actually the voice Riku is talking to here is King Mickey's. I only know because I found the cutscene with English subtitles on Youtube.
  11. Yeah it's because he's stronger. Xion has merged with him and therefore given him the strength that she orignally absorbed from him. That combined with his determination to get her back would make him extra powerful.
  12. No I never managed to beat him. I'm rubbish at racing games, however I got my own back by beating him in the fights
  13. Well I did say 'blue or greenish blue' but I guess his eyes are slightly more green than turquoise. Is that why you like Kairi so much?
  14. Huh, never thought about the whole dimensional aspect to it. Maybe you're right!
  15. Well actually if you look really closely at Kairi's eyes you can sometimes see a faint tint of purple in them which isn't in Sora's eyes. Same for Xion and Naminé. Sora's eyes are a truer blue and the tiniest shade lighter than Kairi's eyes. Weell yellowish orange is a kind of gold right?
  16. Yeah I think blue eyes are pretty too but I do think he overuses them a little.
  17. Has anyone else noticed that nearly every original Kingdom Hearts character has blue or greenish blue eyes? To prove my point let's name some shall we? Sora, Kairi, Riku, Naminé, Xion, Roxas, Axel/Lea, Ventus, Aqua, Terra and nearly every Organization member except Xemnas, Xigbar and Saix, though he had blue eyes as Isa. The only characters with brown eyes I can think of are Hayner and Pence. Having brown eyes myself I think it's a little unfair that there are so few brown eyed characters because it makes cosplaying more difficult. Perhaps Nomura sees blue eyes as symbolizing good and gold eyes as symbolizing bad because the three main Organization bad guys, all Xehanort forms and Vanitas have gold eyes plus Ansem the Wise who was an antagonist for a time whilst all the main protagonists have blue eyes. Or perhaps being Japanese he just thinks brown eyes are too mainstream and boring. Still wish he would mix things up a little more though.
  18. A Fated Meeting (referencing Riku's first conversation with Mickey)
  19. I liked that Donald and Gooofy scene too! "Were we supposed to do that?"
  20. Thank you very much! Though my name is actually Kinouchi, not kunoichi (but it would be really cool if it was kunoichi!)
  21. I think Ven sounded and acted quite young because he had no memories of his past and plus had no darkness in his heart so he basically possessed almost child-like innocence. Also in Japan you aren't truly considered an adult until you are 20 so Aqua and Terra are probably older than you think as well. Though this is just speculation.
