  1. I know how that feels. I haven't found my name on a lot of things. I mean, I know Margaret and Maggie aren't as common as they used to be here in the States, but still...
  2. My family's going over to my aunt's since she lives in an area where fireworks aren't illegal. We're gonna have a bbq, and then do fireworks when it gets dark. If its not raining that is; its been rainy all weekend and its raining right now...
  3. Dragon Quest for me! I really like Final Fantasy as well, and if this counts as a jrpg (it should; it was made by Nintendo after all) then I also really like the Mario & Luigi series.
  4. I apologize again for making you upset; trust me that wasn't my intent. For the most part it did sound like you had no interest in FF just because you had no interest in it, and that's totally fine. But your last line said: So it made it sound like you didn't like FF because of the fans. Because its popular. And it seems weird for you to be like that since you like other very popular things. Not to mention that, as much as I adore Undertale, I have seen some very extreme fans. Same goes for other popular stuff I like, like: Steven Universe, Nintendo, and both Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts. Heck, even the less popular stuff I like have their fair share of crazy fans. So what I'm saying is: all media (and I really mean all media) are gonna have weird and creepy fans, so don't dislike something because of that. Unless the fans are harrassing you, like telling you you're stupid for not liking this and you should have something horrible happen to you (and I've gotten a few fans like that, so I know how that feels), in which case I can see why you would have no interest in it. And again, I didn't mean to upset you! And I'm very sorry that I did. What I was trying to do was show you how your sentence made it look like you were a hypocrite, and help you so you don't make the same mistake next time. I know you weren't trying to be a hypocrite, okay?
  5. WHY HAVE A DOOR KNOB WHEN YOU CAN JUST HAVE THE DOOR ITSELF! A window'd be fine too...
  6. Okay then you should be running into monsters now. If you aren't, then there is something wrong with the game you got. Thanks for letting me know btw
  7. No problem Where are you in the game, if you don't mind me asking? I've finished the game a few times, so you won't spoil me with it.
  8. You won't run into any enemies until you finish the first cave/ruins. You'll find out later on why you don't run into monsters around the first town and castle.
  9. Yep, I thank my parents dearly for getting me into gaming. In fact, my mom is playing Harry Potter 1 on her computer as I write this. My dad doesn't play video games anymore, but he still watches me and my brother play games sometimes; he actually watched me play KH1 once. Yeah, its up to you of you want to give the DQ series a shot or not. I'd say the best one to try first is VIII; it has the largest world, the most interesting characters, and is fairly long (took me around 80 hours to finish the first time, but now it takes around 40-50 hours). VIII is for the PS2 (though you might be able to get it on Steam, I'm not sure), and it is being remade for the 3DS, along with VII, which has the best plot imo. Both are coming out sometime this year. One more thing I forgot to mention about Dragon Quest is that there are times where you might have to stop and level grind for a bit; its not like Final Fantasy where you can go from one town/dungeon to the next without worrying about your levels too much. I know grinding can be a turn off for some people, so I just wanted to warn you.
  10. Eh, I don't really feel like getting a GBA just for one game (well two games counting FFV) The Dragon Quest series (and the Kirby series) were the first games I've gotten into. I've played Dragon Quest I-IV, VII and VIII a bunch of times with my dad, so they're real special to me. Same goes with Kirby, but I've played those with my mom. Anyway, Dragon Quest games are really simple. Games I-IV have very basic stories: an evil lord wants to rule/destroy the world, and you gotta defeat them and save the world. However, games V and on have a little more story to them, but the premise is still the same (but it is with most games if you think about it). So, if you want to play games for their stories, Dragon Quest isn't the best option, but VII and VIII have really good stories imo. The games don't really have particularly interesting characters, except for VIII and maybe VI. And all the games have silent main heroes, so if you want to like a game for its characters, then Dragon Quest really isn't the game to play. However, what I like best about Dragon Quest is their worlds! They're really big and have tons of towns and caves to explore. They're also nice and colorful, which I find really nice. FF worlds have really dull colors it seems (except for V). So if you really like large worlds and exploring them, then you'll love Dragon Quest, especially VIII! The battle system is the basic turn-based, so I have no idea if you like that or not. If you don't, then you won't like these games since they're all like that. The final thing to say is that games III and on are pretty long, about 30+ hours (VII is 100+ hours and that's just with the main story; its not even counting side quests). I really enjoy the series, but I could be biased because of my history with them. And you're welcome!
  11. I actually wasn't familiar with the FF characters in KH1 because they're all from the ones that I haven't played (and have no real desire to, except for maybe VIII). So I feel ya there. And yes, IX is super fantastic! And while its still a bit underrated, its quickly getting acknowledged and played, so that's good news! Wow, we're almost the same when it comes to which FF we've played first, and which ones are our favorite I don't particularly blame you for not being interested in some of them. I'm not interested in half of them because they're too modern for my liking, but... I kinda agree with Rey here. Its kinda hypocritical of you to not want to give FF a chance because its popular, but yet you like Undertale (and Frozen and Hetalia), and all three of these are insanely popular. In fact, I'd say that Frozen and Undertale are more popular than most of the FF games. Unless you got into these before they became so popular, in which case I can understand why you still like them. Also, there's nothing wrong with liking Undertale! The game's good and the characters are awesome!
  12. Hm, I'm really not sure how I feel about this. I absolutely love the first Wreck-it Ralph, but I don't think it really needed a sequel. Not to mention now that its more about the internet than video games. I'll probably still see this movie, but I'll wait until it comes out on DVD.
  13. Well thanks then! Yeah, the only Dragon Quest game I haven't played is X, and that's because it never got a western release. As for Kirby, the only one I haven't played is Amazing Mirror, and I never will because my GBA broke and I don't feel like getting a new one. Anyway, good luck with your gaming experiences!
  14. Aw, no problem! My first FF was actually the very first one for the NES. I played it with my dad when I was little, and we both hated it; which is surprising cause we both love rpgs, even when I was little. The main reason we didn't like it was because we couldn't beat the final dungeon. I got the GBA version years later and beat it, and its okay, but no where near my favorite games. However, years later when I was in middle school, I decided to try this series again and got FFVI for the GBA. And I absolutely love this game! This is the one that got me to play some of the others (FFII-V and IX), and I think VI is still my favorite, but I also like IV, V, and IX a lot. Hm, I guess what I like about the games the most are the characters. Then, the story, and finally the world. Unfortunately, its hard for me to explain why I like these, so I can't help. I'm sorry
  15. Yeah, happy-go-lucky characters are usually my favorite. Oh really? I know a lot of people who've played all FF games, including the spinoffs, so I don't know if my experience in this series is that impressive... Although, I have played almost all the games in both the Dragon Quest series and the Kirby series, which both are my favorite series!
  16. Honestly, none of these interest me. Maybe Toy Story 4, but that's a strong maybe.
  17. Xion is my fave, then Larxene, and then Aqua. I really don't care for the rest of the females in KH (not counting Disney characters)
  18. Necrosaro (Dragon Warrior IV)
  19. First option definitely! I don't need remakes for the previous titles; I'm perfectly content with their older versions. I just finished this game a few days ago, and I love it! My second favorite Kirby game right after Return to Dreamland.
  20. Yeah, I really love happy-go-lucky characters like Bartz. And exactly; I have so many character I love that I can't choose one! Seriously, a friend of mine sent me this meme that would list my top 100 favorite characters, and I couldn't do it because I'd be leaving characters off and I'd feel bad. Wow, good luck playing all FFs! I've only played I-VI, IX, and Dissidia (though I know what happens in XIII cause I've seen a whole playthrough of it)
  21. V and VI are really good! Some people don't like V though, because its not 'dark' and 'serious' enough, but if you play it, you'll find out those claims aren't really true. Some don't like it too because of the characters, but I love the characters (especially Bartz ) Yeah, IV and VI often battle in my mind to see which one is my favorite. And yes Cecil, Kain, and Golbez (and Bartz, Locke, Edgar, Zidane, and Kuja) are my FF senpais.
