  1. I have had long talks about the emotional moments and the power of music before, so I would definitely do that again. If I talked about one thing more than anything else though, it would be the story. There have been a few different explanations for what Kingdom Hearts is throughout the series so far. In the age of fairy tales, many believed that the light was a gift that came from Kingdom Hearts. In Kingdom Hearts 1, the Disney villains hoped to gain immeasurable power and knowledge and dominion over all worlds from Kingdom Hearts. In the Xehanort Reports, Master Xehanort wrote that Kingdom Hearts could be described as an aggregate of hearts and that the one true Kingdom Hearts (not like the ones that were artificially made) is a perfect and complete union of all the worlds' hearts. Master Xehanort also wrote that Kingdom Hearts is the one world which no one has ever stepped foot on and that the one who does is said to become something far greater than human and bring about the creation of the Next World (which is what Master Xehanort plans to do after he starts another Keyblade War). I don't know how much of this is true and how much of it is just legends, but at the very least, Kingdom Hearts is indeed a world. If the other explanations are true as well, then it is also the source of all light, a source of immeasurable power and knowledge, and an aggregate of hearts.
  2. Depending on which character it is, I think it could go either way. For example, if one of the good guys was possessed by Xehanort but had enough free will left to betray him, they would most definitely betray him for the good side. However, if it's anyone else, I think that they would betray him for their own purposes.
  3. I think that if anyone has shown the most signs of possibly betraying Master Xehanort, it's Braig/Xigbar. Granted, we haven't seen how the other seekers of darkness are acting outside of the little revealed of them in the trailers, but Braig/Xigbar has been shown to think that Master Xehanort is hiding something on two separate occasions. The first time was while he was a member of Organization XIII. He tried to find out if Zexion knew who Xemnas was talking to in the Chamber of Repose and what they were talking about, saying to him, "Isn't it time you told me about Xemnas' secret?" When Zexion doesn't answer him, telling him to focus on his duties since the Organization had to prepare their new facility, Castle Oblivion, he then told Zexion that Xemnas was after something within Castle Oblivion that he didn't tell them about, the Chamber of Waking, saying to him, "Did you know there's something he didn't share?" The second time was in the Re:coded secret ending in Kingdom Hearts 2.5. He was talking to Young Xehanort after everyone in Organization XIII became complete people again. During their conversation, he said to Young Xehanort, "Man, does that Xehanort scare me like nobody's business, the way he can see into minds. And it doesn't help that no one knows what it is that the old man wants. I wonder if even you know what's going on inside your own head." This seems to me like he was trying to get Young Xehanort to reveal what Master Xehanort was planning, but when Young Xehanort doesn't give him a good answer, he says, "Whatever. I got my hands full with my own plans." I don't know what he meant by this. Did he mean that he was carrying out something else that Master Xehanort wanted him to do, especially since he was not only telling Young Xehanort this, which would seem stupid if he meant that he was planning something of his own, but also immediately asked Young Xehanort, "So, which poor soul will it be?", which implies that he was referring to something that Master Xehanort wanted him to do. However, he could have been referring to his own plans, which may end up being to betray Master Xehanort. One last point: why would someone willingly go along with Master Xehanort's plan if they know that they will end up becoming Xehanort in the end? Unless Master Xehanort took him over really early on since we see him with the yellow eye and pointy ears even in Birth by Sleep, which would explain why he went along with it. However, maybe he is just pretending to go along with it in order to catch Master Xehanort off guard at just the right moment, like maybe once the χ-Blade is forged. I guess we will have to wait and see.
  4. These basically sum up all my fears. If Sora and Kairi don't end up together after all of the build-up and teasing that has been done in the previous games, I'm gonna punch a baby. That being said, I've been put a little at ease since Kairi's Japanese voice actor read some lines during the Kingdom Hearts Orchestra World Tour that are canon to Kingdom Hearts III, and they were basically a letter to Sora in which she apologized to him for leaving without saying goodbye, informed him on everything going on during her training, and encouraged him to stay the same Sora she knows as he sets off to save those tied to his heart. Not only does Kairi writing a letter to Sora to fill him in on what's going on with her put me at ease, but she also mentions Lea/Axel in that letter, but only to say that they started talking and that she can't bring herself to hate him, which makes me think that she and Lea/Axel will be nothing more than friends. In addition to the canon dialogue that was read at the orchestra, I was also put at ease by the credits for Kingdom Hearts 2.8, which showed a montage of all of the couples that have appeared in the series so far, a montage that ended by showing all of the Sora and Kairi moments, and since Kingdom Hearts 2.8 was meant to directly lead into Kingdom Hearts III, I'm guessing that means we have nothing to fear. Finally, the last thing that put me at ease is that Lea/Axel is an adult while Kairi is still a teenager (he was basically the age Kairi is now while she was still a little girl in Birth by Sleep), so it would be weird if they became anything more than friends. It might seem like I'm obsessing over this a little bit (which I probably am), but I have wanted to see Sora and Kairi finally get together officially for years now, and I don't want to have my hopes and dreams crushed. But I suppose, if they don't end up together, I will be fine with it as long as it is done well. I love this fight so much, especially the epic version of Davy Jones' theme playing in the background at the beginning of their fight! Since Nomura said in a recent interview that the fight against Davy Jones will be included, I can't wait to see what it will look like! My guess is that it will start with us jumping from ship to ship as we fight swarms of Heartless and cursed pirates while Captain Jack Sparrow and Davy Jones fight on the mast of the Flying Dutchman. Then, once we defeat all of the enemies necessary to progress to the next stage of the fight, the part of Jack Sparrow and Davy Jones' fight where they fight on the deck of the ship will begin, which is when the real boss fight will begin as we join in the fight and help Captain Jack Sparrow defeat Davy Jones.
  5. While Xion is not in my top five favorite Kingdom Hearts characters, she is definitely in my top ten. I actually don't know if I like her or Aqua more. I like them about the same. She's also my third favorite Organization XIII member after Axel and Roxas. I think that she had a really good character arch, and, in my opinion, she's one of the main reasons why Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days' story is so good. I think that the final fight against her is the most emotional boss fight I've ever played, and I think that the scene that followed is the saddest moment in the Kingdom Hearts series (so far). I would definitely agree that she is an underrated character.
  6. I think that was it. They were experimenting with new gameplay mechanics. I think they have even said that they were doing that in some of the interviews if I am not mistaken.
  7. To me, it seems that every Kingdom Hearts game that isn't Kingdom Hearts 1 or Kingdom Hearts II gets more hate than they deserve. I'm not saying that they are all perfect games, far from it. I'm also not trying to criticize people who think this way. It's just that, in my opinion, most of these games are good, and I'm going to try to explain why. Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories This game is probably the most different in terms of gameplay from any of the other Kingdom Hearts games. You spend the entire game in one location (Castle Oblivion), create rooms with cards, and battle with cards. Almost every single world and enemy you fight is from the previous game, and every single world you visit is basically the same world with different enemies in them, making the gameplay feel very repetitive over time. The only important story is told as you exit one world and head to the next world (even though the stories of Disney worlds usually aren't important to the main story of the game, these stories seem really watered down). So, why is this game better than people make it out to be? This game was originally made for the Game Boy Advance and therefore couldn't have too complex gameplay or world designs. Given the limitations that Square-Enix had, I think that they did a good job and created a new gameplay system that required strategy as you had to carefully plan out what cards to use. The stories within the revisited worlds, while not nearly as good as their stories in the first game, mostly dealt with the game's overall theme of memories, making their stories not completely pointless. The main story of the game I personally found very interesting, and it set up Kingdom Hearts II. So, while the game isn't perfect, I think that it is a fine entry in the Kingdom Hearts series. Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days The big complaint with this game is that the gameplay is boring and repetitive. I would have to agree with that. You are just caring out the same missions every day while the important story is happening in between them, much like Chain of Memories. However, while the missions themselves were repetitive, I thought that everything else was good. Plus, I thought that this game had a great story. Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep I don't understand some of the hate that this game gets. In my opinion, it is right up there with Kingdom Hearts 1 and Kingdom Hearts II. The only things I agree with is that the combat feels a little floaty and that some of the gameplay felt broken (such as dodge roll making you basically invincible), but those were never things that bothered me. However, even if they did bother me, they wouldn't be enough for me to not like the game. I think that this game has one of the best stories, and I also really liked the way that you could customize your command deck in this game. I felt that it added another element of strategy as you had to choose the commands that you felt would best help you. Kingdom Hearts Re:coded Other than the parts of the game where you have to enter data sections in order to fix glitches (which I hated), I thought that the gameplay was really good. It took the good parts of 358/2 Days gameplay and made it better. However, the gameplay isn't the stuff that people seem to take issue with. It's the story. I would have to agree that the story isn't that great. Much like Chain of Memories, all of the worlds are worlds that you have already visited, and the stories within these worlds are really watered down from the original stories told in these worlds. However, unlike Chain of Memories, these stories are basically not important at all. They don't connect to a bigger theme, they are just there. The main story of the game itself doesn't even get important until the end when you find out how this story connects to the larger story. So, yes, the story isn't that great, but is that really a good reason to hate this game? For me, it is my least favorite game, but that is not just because of the story but also because of the data sections that you have to enter, which I didn't find that fun. However, other than that, I found the gameplay good, which makes me think that the game is better than people say it is. Kingdom Hearts [Dream Drop Distance] While I understand the hate for this game more than I did for Birth by Sleep, I still don't understand why this game gets so much hate. The gameplay is a lot like Birth by Sleep's gameplay, meaning that it is floaty and has some broken gameplay elements (such as Flow Motion), but other than that, like Birth by Sleep, I think that the gameplay is fine. Yes, the story makes everything complicated and confusing, but, like with Re:coded, I don't see a confusing story as enough reason to hate a game. I still think this game is fun to play, and I also personally don't think that the story is as bad as people say it is. Kingdom Hearts Union χ[Cross] I really don't get why this game gets so much hate. The only thing I don't like in this game is that most of the missions are filler missions. Other than that, I think that this game is really fun, and I think that there is a lot to do for a game that is purchased off of an app store. Yes, the game wants you to pay it money in order to get the good stuff, but I think that the game has improved a lot since the early days so that you can get a lot of really good medals without spending a cent. Yes, it will take longer, but if you are patient, then you will have a lot of those powerful medals in no time, especially since you can earn a lot of jewels that you can use to buy medals just by completing the story missions. Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep 0.2 -A fragmentary passage- Okay, most people seem to like this one for what it is. So, there are my thoughts on why these games deserve more credit than they receive. I would like to stress one more time that I am not saying that these are perfect games. A lot of the criticisms I feel are justified. I just think that there are a lot of good things in these games that some people seem to ignore simply because they're not Kingdom Hearts 1 or Kingdom Hearts II. What do you guys think? Do you agree that these games get more hate than they deserve? Do you disagree and think that they deserve the hate that they get? Or do you think something else?
  8. I have tried for so long to find a way to explain the story of Kingdom Hearts without the explanation lasting an hour or so. However, I think I found the best way to give the bare bones summary of the story of Kingdom Hearts: explain Master Xehanort's plan. If you do that, you have basically covered the reasons behind everything. Here's how I do it: Long ago, there was a Keyblade War that almost consumed everything in darkness had it not been for the light within the hearts of children. A man named Master Xehanort believed that starting a second Keyblade War would tear down the tyranny of light so that he could use the power of Kingdom Hearts to create the Next World, a world equal in light and darkness. However, in order to accomplish this, he needed to forge the χ-Blade, a weapon (and Kingdom Hearts' counterpart) that was destroyed during the Keyblade War. Master Xehanort has attempted to forge the χ-Blade several times. Attempt #1: 1. Have a heart of pure light clash with a heart of pure darkness to forge the χ-Blade (since the original χ-Blade was made of an element of light and an element of darkness) 2. Find a vessel (since he was getting old) It looked like Xehanort had succeeded in this attempt. He extracted the darkness from the heart of a boy named Ventus, creating a being of pure darkness named Vanitas, and the two of them ended up clashing with each other and forging the χ-Blade. He also got a boy named Terra to succumb to the darkness and possessed him. However, thanks to Terra and Ventus' friend Aqua, the χ-Blade was destroyed. After Ventus defeated Vanitas within his own heart, it looked like his heart was going to vanish, but Sora welcomed him into his heart. Aqua, after finding out that Ventus' heart was sleeping, created Castle Oblivion and put Ventus' unconscious body in the Chamber of Waking, where she planned to keep him until he woke up. Terra then summoned Aqua to put an end to him. She tried to free Terra from Xehanort's control, but Terra-Xehanort turned his Keyblade on himself once Terra started fighting back, causing him to fall into darkness. Aqua saved Terra, but at the cost of falling into darkness instead. Xehanort was still in control of Terra's body, although he seemed to forget everything except the name "Xehanort". Ansem the Wise took him in as his apprentice. Xehanort (under the guidance of Braig, who had previously teamed up with Master Xehanort) then began to prepare for his new plan to forge the χ-Blade. During his time as an apprentice, Xehanort (under Ansem's name) and the other apprentices performed experiments that were an attempt to control the mind and convince the body to renounce its sense of self. Eventually, all of the apprentices were consumed by darkness and became Nobodies. Xehanort, on the other hand, willingly gave up his heart, which allowed his Heartless to retain his selfhood. Attempt #2: 1. Have Ansem (his Heartless) oversee Maleficent as she collected the seven princesses of heart and attempted to use them to open the door to an artificial Kingdom Hearts of Worlds (a Kingdom Hearts created from the hearts of worlds consumed by darkness) 2. Have Xemnas (his Nobody) form a group of thirteen Nobodies called Organization XIII and use an artificial Kingdom Hearts of People (a Kingdom Hearts created from the hearts released from Emblem Heartless when they are slain by the Keyblade) to fill all of the members with Xehanort's heart and mind When the χ-Blade was destroyed during the Keyblade War, it shattered into twenty pieces, seven of light and thirteen of darkness. Xehanort figured that having seven lights clash with thirteen darknesses was the true way to forge the χ-Blade, which was why he had his Heartless oversee the collection of the seven princesses of heart and his Nobody attempt to create thirteen Xehanorts. However, Sora defeated both Ansem and Xemnas, but Xehanort anticipated this failure and had already set another plan in motion. Attempt #3: 1. Send Ansem back in time to give Xehanort's younger self the ability to time travel and send him on a mission to collect other versions of himself from throughout time (Ansem could time travel since he was just a heart) 2. Highjack Sora's Mark of Mastery exam and make him the thirteenth Xehanort Once a person's Heartless and Nobody are destroyed, the original person returns. Since Sora destroyed both Xehanort's Heartless (Ansem) and Xehanort's Nobody (Xemnas), Master Xehanort would soon return a complete person, and he planned to have his other twelve selves present on that day. After Young Xehanort had gathered all but one of his other selves, he and some of the other Xehanorts highjacked Sora's Mark of Mastery exam and sent him down a path deeper into darkness without him even knowing it. With Sora's heart in the deepest abyss, Master Xehanort attempted to make Sora his final vessel, but he was thwarted by Sora's friends. However, this did not concern Master Xehanort. He knew that it would only be a matter of time before his thirteen seekers of darkness were completed and they would clash with seven guardians of light, forging the χ-Blade. While this summary leaves a lot of details out, specifically regarding the heroes of the story, I think that this is the best way to summarize why everything is happening the way it is. I may have included a few too many details, especially regarding the fates of Terra, Aqua, and Ventus, but I felt that I couldn't talk about the failure of Xehanort's first attempt to forge the χ-Blade without including their fates. What do you guys think? Am I right that explaining Xehanort's plan is the best way to summarize the story of Kingdom Hearts or not? Is there anything that you would add or take away from my summary?
  9. It's hard for me to include heroes and villains on the same list because I don't know where to place the villains on the list, so I'll make a top 5 heroes list and a top 5 villains list. Top 5 Heroes 1. Sora 2. Riku 3. Axel/Lea 4. Roxas 5. Terra Sora is not just my favorite Kingdom Hearts character but also my favorite video game character of all time. Top 5 Villains 1. Ansem, Seeker of Darkness 2. Xemnas 3. Master Xehanort 4. Vanitas 5. Marluxia It's hard for me to really nail down why Ansem, Seeker of Darkness, is my favorite villain. After all, he's basically just a darkness obsessed man (who is actually a Heartless) who does nothing but make long speeches about how awesome the darkness is. However, that may be the reason why he's my favorite villain. He's just a simple villain who, in my opinion, has the best design of all of the villains in the series and has some of the best boss fights in the entire series.
  10. I've seen that people are ranking each game in the Kingdom Hearts series on a tier list. I thought that I would get in on this too. However, I wasn't sure whether I should rank them as what games I think are made the best or as what games are my favorite, so I decided to do both. Best Made Game To Worst Made Game S: Kingdom Hearts II A: Kingdom Hearts; Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep; Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep -A fragmentary passage- B: Kingdom Hearts [Dream Drop Distance] C: Kingdom Hearts Union χ[Cross]; Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories D: Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days; Kingdom Hearts Re:coded Favorite Game to Least Favorite Game S: Kingdom Hearts; Kingdom Hearts II A: Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep; Kingdom Hearts [Dream Drop Distance]; Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep -A fragmentary passage- B: Kingdom Hearts Union χ[Cross] C: Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days; Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories D: Kingdom Hearts Re:coded I was really debating whether or not to put Kingdom Hearts 1 as an "S" Rank on my "Best Made Game To Worst Made Game" list. However, in the end, even though I think it does a lot of things better than Kingdom Hearts II does, the clunky platforming, not very in-depth combat, and not very exciting Gummi Ship missions made me decide to put it as an "A" Rank on that list. I still think that Kingdom Hearts 1's world design and story are better than Kingdom Hearts II's, though, which (as I explained in a previous post) is why it's my favorite game.
  11. I don't think he said that the final battle will be in a new location. What he said was, "But I think I just want to say that the last battle in the game is something I want everyone to see as well as this new original location that I’ve really wanted to create for a long time now. If I had to say just one though, it’d be the last battle.” Unless I'm misinterpreting his quote, it sounds like he's saying that he's excited for fans to experience two things: the last battle and the new original location. Also, unless I'm misinterpreting his quote again, it sounds like he's saying that if he had to choose just one thing that he's excited for fans to experience, it would be the final battle and not the new original location. So, it sounds to me like the final battle and the new original location are two different things.
  12. If they do include a non-film Disney TV show in Kingdom Hearts III, I want them to include DuckTales. Since we already know that Scrooge McDuck, Huey, Dewy, and Louie have been to multiple worlds, maybe they could explore even more worlds in this game in a search for treasure. Maybe you could find them in each world you visit, and when you do find them, they give you a reward. Maybe they could even team up with the other DuckTales characters in their search for treasure.
  13. It looks like at least one seeker of darkness will appear in each world. These are the confirmed appearances that we have so far: 1. Ansem and Xemnas will appear in Twilight Town 2. Young Xehanort will appear in Toy Box 3. Marluxia will appear in the Kingdom of Corona 4. Vanitas will appear in Monstropolis 5. Larxene will appear in Arendelle 6. Braig/Xigbar will appear in Olympus 7. Luxord will appear in the Caribbean Since this means that at least one of the remaining seekers of darkness will appear in the Big Hero 6 world, that leaves four seekers of darkness unaccounted for. Since I think that Master Xehanort will appear in the Keyblade Graveyard, I think that means that we could have three more Disney worlds (unless there's another minigame world in addition to the Classic Kingdom, such as the 100 Acre Wood, which would mean that there could be more Disney worlds than that). However, I personally think that we will see only one more Disney world (unless there's another minigame world) and that the others will be original worlds, such as Castle Oblivion, and I think that the Disney world most likely to appear will be a Jungle Book world, especially since Square-Enix has tried to include a Jungle Book world in their games already.
  14. It seems to me that most Kingdom Hearts fans think that Kingdom Hearts II is the best game in the series so far, and I can completely understand why they think that way. In fact, I have gone back and forth on whether Kingdom Hearts or Kingdom Hearts II is my favorite game because they're both that good to me. However, in the end, I do like the original Kingdom Hearts more. While there are many smaller things that make me like Kingdom Hearts 1 over Kingdom Hearts II, there are really just two main things that make me like the first game more. The first is the world design. Let me start off by saying that there's one thing that I think Kingdom Hearts II is better at: the combat. Even the combat for the Gummi Ship missions is better. This makes Kingdom Hearts II more fun to play while fighting enemies. However, I find the rest of the gameplay more fun in Kingdom Hearts 1, and most of that has to do with how the worlds were designed in the first game as opposed to Kingdom Hearts II. Kingdom Hearts 1 had worlds that you had to explore, and while the platforming had much to be desired, I still found it fun to explore every inch of each world not only in order to find everything but also in order to get to where you needed to go next. However, in Kingdom Hearts II, you pretty much just had to walk in a straight line and you would get to where you needed to go next. At the most, if you wanted to find hidden items, you would have to find one or two branching paths, but for the most part, you didn't have to explore too much in order to find everything. The second thing that makes me like Kingdom Hearts 1 over Kingdom Hearts II is the story. I really like the idea of having to defeat a group of Disney villains who have teamed up to kidnap a group of Disney princesses (and Alice and Kairi) in order to open the door to Kingdom Hearts. It's simple and really emphasizes the fact that this game has a lot of different Disney characters and Disney worlds in it. Don't get me wrong, I like Kingdom Hearts II's story as well, but I like the simplicity and the Disneyness of the first game's story more. And that's why Kingdom Hearts 1 is my favorite Kingdom Hearts game. However, we'll have to see if that changes once Kingdom Hearts III comes out because so far, with the combat looking better than ever (especially for the boss fights), the worlds looking like you have to explore them again, and the people at Disney and Pixar assisting in writing the original stories for the Disney and Pixar worlds, it's looking like Kingdom Hearts III may become my new favorite Kingdom Hearts game.
  15. Since I've wanted the Toy Story versions of Sora, Donald, and Goofy since before they were even announced, I'm very happy with what they're offering. I've never been picky when it comes to "limited editions" and "collectors editions". I'm just really happy that they're giving us something extra at all. That's just me, though.
  16. I have been thinking for a while now that one of the seekers of darkness is going to betray Master Xehanort. The reason for this thinking is that Gula told Ava in Back Cover that the traitor is "the one who bears the sigil", as it says on the Lost Page of the Book of Prophecies. We didn't find out who the traitor was in Back Cover, and the only sigil I know of in the Kingdom Hearts series is the Recusant's Sigil, which is associated with Organization XIII. That made me think that what the Lost Page was actually predicting was a betrayal within the real Organization XIII in Kingdom Hearts III. However, I recently started thinking if that would even be possible. After all, if someone in the real Organization XIII is able to betray the man who is possessing them, then why would characters like Terra and Aqua appear to be completely under Xehanort's control? In fact, if everyone who is Norted still has some free will, why would someone like Aqua go along with Xehanort's plans? What else makes this strange is that everyone who has been Norted so far seems to have some level of free will except for Terra and Aqua. Why would that be? I really don't have any answers, so what do you guys think? How much free will, if any at all, do you think Norted people have?
  17. I actually posted my own thoughts on this not that long ago. I went way more in-depth on the topic in my post, so I will give you the short version here: I actually think that only ten seekers of darkness have been officially revealed because Nomura is being vague about what will happen to Aqua. However, since she has yellow eyes and silver hair, and since Nomura has used language hinting that Xehanort does, in fact, control her, I do think that she is a seeker of darkness. I just don't think that it has been officially confirmed yet. With that being said, I think that the thirteen seekers of darkness will be: 1. Master Xehanort 2. Young Xehanort 3. Vanitas 4. Ansem, Seeker of Darkness 5. Xemnas 6. Braig/Xigbar 7. Isa/Saix 8. Demyx 9. Luxord 10. Marluxia 11. Larxene 12. Roxas 13. Aqua I think that, by the end of Kingdom Hearts III, we will know the fates of all of the original Organization XIII members, and I think that those who weren't shown to be okay in Dream Drop Distance will be seekers of darkness. If this is true, then that would mean that Demyx is one of the seekers of darkness. I know that a lot of people don't think that Demyx is fit to be a seeker of darkness, but if he was chosen to be one of the members of the original Organization XIII, then I think he could still be considered as a possible member for the real Organization XIII. Plus, if Master Xehanort was willing to make Sora a vessel, who has been described as lazy in the past, why would he not be willing to make Demyx a vessel? The reason why I don't think that Terra is a seeker of darkness is that we see Riku and King Mickey return to the Mysterious Tower while Sora is still in his Kingdom Hearts II outfit. If they returned from their mission to the Realm of Darkness while Sora was still in his Kingdom Hearts II outfit, that must mean that they return early on in the game and therefore have already found out that Aqua is a seeker of darkness by then. However, in the Kingdom Hearts III trailers, we have heard some of the members of the seekers of darkness speaking to Sora and implying that they are still missing their thirteenth member. During all of these scenes, Sora is wearing his new Kingdom Hearts III outfit, meaning that these scenes are happening after Riku and King Mickey found out that Aqua is a seeker of darkness. Now, why does this mean that Terra can't be a seeker of darkness? At the end of Dream Drop Distance, Master Xehanort told King Mickey that Sora and another on his list of Keyblade wielders belonged to him. Sora ended up being rescued, which means that Master Xehanort has succeeded in making only one of the Keyblade wielders on King Mickey's list into a seeker of darkness. If Master Xehanort already had twelve seekers of darkness by that point, and if he is still looking for the final seeker of darkness after Riku and King Mickey find out that Aqua is one of them, then Aqua must have been one of the twelve seekers of darkness present at the end of Dream Drop Distance, which means that she was the other one on King Mickey's list that Master Xehanort was talking about. That means that Terra can no longer be under Master Xehanort's control. He must have found a way to escape him like he said he would in the Birth by Sleep secret ending. I was going back and forth on whether Roxas or Ventus will be a seeker of darkness. I think that either of them could be one, but in the end, I guessed that Roxas is more likely to become a seeker a darkness because, if Aqua truly was made a seeker of darkness prior to the ending of Dream Drop Distance like I am guessing she was, why wouldn't Master Xehanort use her to retrieve Ventus from the Chamber of Waking and make him the thirteenth vessel instead of going through all of that hard work to make Sora the thirteenth vessel? In fact, I think that Master Xehanort may have tried this, but maybe Ventus was saved by Terra. I actually don't think that any guardians of light have been officially revealed yet. However, we are able to make some assumptions based on what has been revealed so far. Therefore, I think that the seven guardians of light will be: 1. King Mickey 2. Sora 3. Riku 4. Kairi 5. Lea/Axel 6. Ventus 7. Terra I already explained why I think that Roxas is more likely to be a seeker of darkness than Ventus, but I think that a reason why Ventus is more likely to be a guardian of light is that, since Aqua has already saved Terra and Ventus in Birth by Sleep, it would be as if Terra and Ventus were returning the favor by saving her. But this is just my best guess. I think that the remaining members of each team could literally be anyone, so I don't think that anyone can be wrong in their guesses.
  18. What I am liking so far is that each world seems to have something unique that makes it stand out. For Olympus, it's the epic Rock Titan boss fight with the wall running, the changing weather, and the long journey to get to him. For Toy Box, it's the mech battles. For Monstropolis, it's the fact that the Unversed seem to literally be destroying the company. For Arandelle, it's the sledding on Goofy's shield and the fact that Marshmallow will be assisting us in some way. For the Caribbean, it's the ship battles and the underwater combat. For San Fransokyo, it's the darkness corrupted Baymax with the Nanobots replacing his now missing arm. So far, Twilight Town and the Kingdom of Corona haven't shown anything that has necessarily stood out to me, but I'm sure that they will have them. Because of this, it's really hard for me to choose a world that looks the most fun so far because they all look extremely fun. I want to say Olympus because of how epic that Rock Titan boss fight was (boss fights are my favorite parts of videogames) and the fact that all of the Titans will be appearing this time (if Rock Titan's boss fight was epic, image what Ice Titan's, Wind Titan's, and Lava Titan's will be like), but other than the boss fights, Olympus doesn't have something that stands out too much to me, even though it still looks like a really awesome world. In fact, most of the world's don't have a whole lot that stands out to me other than one or two specific things that don't have much to do with the rest of the world, even though all of the worlds look amazing. The Caribbean, on the other hand, does. All of the different ways to explore and battle your way through the world look fun and unique, which makes it the world that I think looks the most fun so far.
  19. If my guess is correct, I don't think that they are teasing Sora succumbing to darkness and then completely abandoning that plot thread. To me, it sounds like Sora is just trying to avoid having to succumb to the darkness by trying to find another way to bring Roxas back. If I were to make a guess, finding Data-Roxas is going to fail, and Sora is going to have to decide whether or not to succumb to darkness in order to bring Roxas back. As far as what method Xemnas was referring to, I think he meant that in order to bring Roxas back, Sora would have to become a Heartless again. Maybe this is what was meant by Ansem and Xemnas in the Pirates of the Caribbean trailer when they said to Sora, "Now, set your heart free." After all, this is what Axel was trying to accomplish in Kingdom Hearts II. He hoped that kidnapping Kairi would result in Sora becoming a Heartless again so that Roxas would return.
  20. When I look at everything from that scene that has been revealed in trailers so far, it seems to me that Sora expresses his desire to bring Roxas back to Ansem and Xemnas, and they tell him that the only way to do so is to call upon the darkness. However, so that he would not have to use the darkness, Sora recalls that Roxas existed in the other Twilight Town. Ansem then appears to discourage this thought by telling him that the other Twilight Town is just data. However, Sora tries to bring Roxas back that way anyway. That's what I can piece together anyway. So, it seems as though Ansem and Xemnas want Sora to submit to the darkness, while Sora is trying every possible way to bring Roxas back that he can think of without using the darkness.
  21. So far, whenever people have asked Nomura about certain things that he can't talk about, that he doesn't want to reveal yet, or that would be a spoiler, Nomura has simply told them that he can't talk about it. At the most, he says something vague about it that gives us a hint at what's to come, but nothing more. So, I doubt that Nomura would keep everything else a secret while lying to us about the fate of Sora.
  22. I hadn't thought of that, and you're right. They didn't say that nothing would please them more than Roxas' return because then they could make Roxas a seeker of darkness. They just said that nothing would please them more than his return. So, they definitely could have been referring to the fact that they still need guardians of light. However, in the Orchestra trailer, Xemnas says, "How do you expect to bring Roxas back when he should never have existed in the first place? There is only one way to accomplish it...Sora, are you finally going to call upon the darkness?" To me, this sounds like Xemnas is still trying to urge Sora to give in to the darkness, which makes me think that they still need one more seeker of darkness. But hey, I may be wrong. I don't think we do know where Terra's heart is post-Apprentice Xehanort. In fact, Xehanort returning as Master Xehanort and not Apprentice Xehanort may be more evidence to that he no longer is in control of Terra's heart. Also, I actually think that there is a good possibility of Lingering Will becoming a part of Terra again. It's why I decided not to include Lingering Will as his own character as I was trying to decide who would be the remaining guardians of light and seekers of darkness.
  23. He only appeared in the Japanese version of the Pirates of the Caribbean trailer for a brief moment. You can see him at the 2:24 mark: I think you bring up some good points, but keep in mind that Sora is nice too, and Xehanort almost made him his vessel. So, it doesn't matter how nice you are, you can still be made a vessel, which means that Demyx could still be made one too. Also, while Nomura did say that we can save Aqua, he never said when, and I believe that when we will be able to save her is at the very end of the game during the final battle, which means that she can still be one of the seekers of darkness. You also bring up a good point that Riku and King Mickey may not have actually gotten into the Realm of Darkness yet, but I doubt they would return to Master Yen Sid just to tell him that they can't find a way in. I'm sure that they will keep trying until they do and then return to Master Yen Sid once they finish their mission there. As for Terra, I think that they have actually teased Terra's escape from Xehanort's control in Birth by Sleep's secret ending: Xehanort: "Darkness rules your heart--it gives me control. Muscle and sinew that once obeyed you now rebels against you. How you can remain here at all confounds the mind." Terra: "It's still my heart. You think you can just come in and take over? I'm not gonna sit by and let that happen." Xehanort: "Hmph. Don't even entertain any notions of escaping me, boy. In the end, your heart will be engulfed by mine forever." Terra: "Wrong. You're gonna get shown the door, old man." Xehanort: "As I recall, you couldn't even handle your own darkness. How, then, will you triumph over mine?" Terra: "You'll find out soon enough."
  24. I actually agree with Dustin Lübbers that it will happen early on in the game. I have said this in a few of my posts already, but in the E3 Showcase trailer, we see Riku and King Mickey return to Mysterious Tower, which means that they must have finished their mission in the Realm of Darkness. However, Sora is shown to still be wearing his Kingdom Hearts II outfit, meaning that he hasn't received his new outfit yet. This must mean that Riku and King Mickey return from the Realm of Darkness after we complete Olympus, but not before we go to the next world since I doubt that we will visit more than Olympus (and maybe Mysterious Tower as we return to Master Yen Sid) in our Kingdom Hearts II outfit. This means that the Aqua reveal may happen after we complete the first world of the game, or maybe even before that. And if that's true, then we may not even get to look for Aqua in the Realm of the Darkness unless Riku and King Mickey's mission in the Realm of Darkness is the tutorial at the very beginning of the game. And if Aqua's reveal is at the beginning of the game, then it's probably not as big of a spoiler as people think it is.
  25. Here is long and way too over thought guess at who the remaining guardians of light and seekers of darkness are: So far, we have ten confirmed seekers of darkness: 1. Master Xehanort 2. Young Xehanort 3. Vanitas 4. Ansem, Seeker of Darkness 5. Xemnas 6. Braig/Xigbar 7. Isa/Saix 8. Luxord 9. Marluxia 10. Larxene We haven't actually gotten an official confirmation (as far as I know) as to who any of the guardians of light are, but I think we are able to make a good guess going off of what has been revealed so far. When King Mickey listed off Keyblade wielders as guardians of light, he listed himself, Sora, Riku, Terra, Aqua, and Ventus. However, Master Xehanort stated that two of the people on his list belonged to him now. Sora ended up being saved, but, assuming that King Mickey was paying attention, he would know that someone on his list was one of the seekers of darkness, making his list of Keyblade wielders go from six to five. However, in the Dream Drop Distance's secret ending, King Mickey says that they only need one more guardian of light. So, he must count Lea as one of the Keyblade wielders now, and since Kairi was hinted to be the seventh guardian of light right after this, I think that it's safe to assume who most of the guardians of light will be: 1. King Mickey 2. Sora 3. Riku 4. Kairi 5. Lea/Axel Since we do not yet know the fates of Terra, Aqua, and Ventus (since none of their fates have been confirmed), I don't think we can for sure put them on either of the lists yet (if they will appear on either of the lists at all), even if King Mickey is confident that two of them will be guardians of light. So, that leaves three seekers of darkness and two guardians of light that have yet to be revealed. The next step is to find out which original characters have not been put on either list yet, and they are: 1. Terra 2. Aqua 3. Ventus 4. Roxas 5. Namine 6. Xion 7. Demyx 8. Riku Replica 9. Ansem the Wise 10. Master Eraqus 11. Lingering Will 12. Ira 13. Invi 14. Aced 15. Gula 16. Ava 17. Luxu 18. Master of Masters 19. Ephemer 20. Skuld 21. Brain 22. Player Let's start to narrow down this list. First of all, even though I think that it is a possibility that the characters from Union χ[cross] and Back Cover will make an appearance in Kingdom Hearts III, especially since both Ventus and Lauriam (even though he hasn't officially been confirmed to be Marluxia's human form, I am counting him as Marluxia's human form) exist in both Union χ[cross] and Kingdom Hearts III, I will not include them in either list simply because I expect the missing members on each list to be characters that Sora and his friends have encountered on their many journeys. So, now our list includes: 1. Terra 2. Aqua 3. Ventus 4. Roxas 5. Namine 6. Xion 7. Demyx 8. Riku Replica 9. Ansem the Wise 10. Master Eraqus 11. Lingering Will Let's start with the seekers of darkness. We know that the thirteenth seeker of darkness is still missing, so we only need to find out who two of the three are for now. We also know that one of those two is Terra, Aqua, or Ventus, so, the other spot must be one of these characters: 1. Roxas 2. Namine 3. Xion 4. Demyx 5. Riku Replica 6. Ansem the Wise 7. Master Eraqus 8. Lingering Will Thanks to the trailers, it seems that both Roxas and Riku Replica have not been made seekers of darkness by the beginning of Kingdom Hearts III, meaning that if either of them is going to be a seeker of darkness, they will be the thirteenth darkness. However, since we are not guessing who the thirteenth darkness will be yet, they will not be considered for the twelfth darkness. I think that it is also safe to assume that Namine and Xion, having become a part of Kairi's and Sora's hearts, will not be considered for the twelfth darkness either. Finally, I think it is safe to take Master Eraqus off the list since he died in Birth by Sleep (although he is hinted to be in Terra's heart). So, that leaves us with: 1. Demyx 2. Ansem the Wise 3. Lingering Will After thinking it over, I think that Demyx will most likely be the twelfth darkness since all of the members of Organization XIII who have not been shown in their human forms have been part of the seekers of darkness. So, now we just need to decide whether Terra, Aqua, or Ventus will be the eleventh darkness. So far, it hasn't been confirmed if Aqua is a seeker of darkness or not. However, thanks to interviews with Nomura, it sounds as if the Aqua we see revealed in the Frozen trailer is indeed the real Aqua, and since silver hair and yellow eyes mean Xehanort, I am guessing that Aqua is indeed one of the seekers of darkness. However, now the question remains: is she the eleventh darkness or the thirteenth darkness? I think that Aqua is the eleventh darkness. Here's why: In the E3 Showcase trailer, we see Riku and King Mickey return to Mysterious Tower, meaning that they must have finished their mission in the Realm of Darkness, which also means that they must have seen Aqua corrupted by darkness by this point. When Riku and King Mickey return, Sora is still wearing his Kingdom Hearts II outfit, which means that he hasn't received his new outfit yet. However, we have already seen Young Xehanort telling Sora that they are missing a darkness that they must reclaim in the Toy Story trailer, and we have seen both Ansem and Xemnas telling Sora that nothing would make them happier than Roxas' return in the E3 Showcase trailer. In both of these scenes, Sora is wearing his new outfit, which means that the thirteenth darkness is still missing after Sora gets his new outfit. This also means that when Riku and King Mickey return from the Realm of Darkness, the thirteenth darkness is still missing since Sora hadn't received his new outfit at that time. If the thirteenth darkness is still missing when Riku and King Mickey return from the Realm of Darkness, and if Aqua is indeed a seeker of darkness by that point, she can't be the thirteenth darkness and therefore must be the eleventh darkness (I hope I made my point clear enough and didn't over explain my point). So, here are the seekers of darkness so far: 1. Master Xehanort 2. Young Xehanort 3. Vanitas 4. Ansem, Seeker of Darkness 5. Xemnas 6. Braig/Xigbar 7. Isa/Saix 8. Luxord 9. Marluxia 10. Larxene 11. Aqua 12. Demyx So, that leaves the thirteenth darkness. Here is the list of characters again who do not belong to either list (not including the Union χ[cross] and Back Cover characters): 1. Terra 2. Ventus 3. Roxas 4. Namine 5. Xion 6. Riku Replica 7. Ansem the Wise 8. Master Eraqus 9. Lingering Will Since I think that Aqua was one of the twelve seekers of darkness present at the end of Dream Drop Distance in Where Nothing Gathers, that means that Terra is no longer a seeker of darkness (since Master Xehanort said that only one other person on King Mickey's list other than Sora belonged to him). I think that also excludes Lingering Will from being a seeker of darkness or a separate character at all since Terra probably reunited with Lingering Will to become a complete person again. I also think that Master Eraqus (although he may have helped Terra free himself from Xehanort's control from within Terra's heart) will stay dead, which excludes him from both lists. Also, if Riku Replica hasn't been made a vessel for Xehanort yet, he probably never will be (a weak argument, I know, but if he was in the Realm of Darkness, just like Aqua was, and made it back to the Realm of Light without becoming one of the darknesses, I doubt Xehanort has any interest in him), which takes him off the list. Namine is part of Kairi's heart, and I think that if the thirteenth darkness will be tied to anyone's heart, it will be to Sora's heart. Sora didn't know Xion, so he wouldn't be shocked to see her as a seeker of darkness. Plus, no one remembers Xion (although Lea/Axel might), so unless everyone remembers her once she returns, the heroes won't be shocked to see her as a seeker of darkness. It could be Ansem the Wise, but, once again, if Aqua was made a seeker of darkness while she was in the Realm of Darkness, and if the seekers of darkness are still looking for their thirteenth member, Ansem the Wise must not be important to Xehanort since he was in the Realm of Darkness with Aqua. So, that leaves us with Ventus and Roxas. I think it could be either Ventus or Roxas. If Aqua is indeed a seeker of darkness, Xehanort would have access to Ventus, someone he's been after since the days of the original Organization XIII. However, if Aqua was already a seeker of darkness before the end of Dream Drop Distance like I think she was, then why didn't Xehanort use her to find Ventus and make him the thirteenth darkness instead of going on a crazy mission to make Sora the thirteenth darkness? Maybe Aqua couldn't get Ventus because Terra saved him, and if Terra saved him, that must mean that Roxas will be the thirteenth seeker of darkness. And so, I guess that the seekers of darkness will be: 1. Master Xehanort 2. Young Xehanort 3. Vanitas 4. Ansem, Seeker of Darkness 5. Xemnas 6. Braig/Xigbar 7. Isa/Saix 8. Luxord 9. Marluxia 10. Larxene 11. Aqua 12. Demyx 13. Roxas So, now on to the guardians of light. These won't take nearly as long as I already have a guess at who one of the two unknown guardians will be: Terra. If Terra is no longer a seeker of darkness, he will probably become a guardian of light. So that leaves the final guardian of light. Here is the list of characters who are not part of either group yet: 1. Ventus 2. Namine 3. Xion 4. Riku Replica 5. Ansem the Wise I don't think that either Namine or Ansem the Wise will be a guardian of light since neither of them has been shown to wield a Keyblade (although Namine might be able to since Kairi can). I also don't think that Riku Replica will be a guardian of light since I think that he will continue to rely on the power of darkness. That leaves us with Ventus and Xion, and of the two, I think that Ventus will be the final guardian of light. If Terra saves Ventus from Castle Oblivion, like I guessed earlier, both Terra and Ventus would get to repay Aqua for saving them in Birth by Sleep by saving her this time. And so, my final prediction is that the seven guardians of light will be: 1. King Mickey 2. Sora 3. Riku 4. Kairi 5. Lea/Axel 6. Terra 7. Ventus And that the thirteen seekers of darkness will be: 1. Master Xehanort 2. Young Xehanort 3. Vanitas 4. Ansem, Seeker of Darkness 5. Xemnas 6. Braig/Xigbar 7. Isa/Saix 8. Luxord 9. Marluxia 10. Larxene 11. Aqua 12. Demyx 13. Roxas But this is just my best guess. What do you guys think?
