  1. One thing that I didn't like was the complete lack of use for the touchpad on the controller. With how expansive some areas are, and how samey some environments like the marsh in Kingdom of Corona, using it to pull up a full screen map like Dream Drop Distance HD would have been very useful.
  2. And the last thing to release from Pandora's Box.
  3. That's what Crit Mode should do in any game it's implemented in. It taught me in KH3 to learn the enemy patterns carefully right from the tutorial boss. Know the gameplay and have enough knowledge and experience with the mechanics to avoid dying like you're Rory Williams.
  4. This is the first time I've ever heard of Lightning being planned then scrapped for Dream Drop Distance, so I second the motion for proof. I follow a few big KHTubers and if this was news at all it would have It sounds like someone saw or created a fanart and got desperate for content without doing the research. As mentioned already the artwork shows her holding a struggle bat, and Twilight Town only appears in Dream Drop Distance in the Hikari Orchestral opening that covers 358/2 Days (the small square and the top of the clock tower) and a brief scene with Roxas and Axel on the clock tower, having no meaningful appearance in the game whatsoever. Much like the alleged video evidence (you can't even identify the video beyond the user and when you watched it) it suggests you're making a Darkside out of a Shadow. It's got an entry on KnowYourMeme. https://knowyourmeme.com/photos/1002709-kingdom-hearts
  5. I'd rather not see Star Wars or MCU in Kingdom Hearts. Yes, both are Disney properties but both have huge lore and movies that make them whole universes of their own and have basis outside of Disney going back decades. Kingdom Hearts does use and reference Final Fantasy and The World Ends With You, but that's more akin to cherry picking certain characters and recontextualising them in the Kingdom Hearts setting and is Square's own property. Besides, after how the recent Avengers game was received I don't entirely have faith in them doing more Marvel stuff.
  6. What I do like about Dream Drop Distance HD is that you can bring up the minimap to fill the screen. Some kind of marking feature for the map would be very much appreciated.
  7. If any world in KH1 was in need of a minimap it's Atlantica
  8. Ventus can now enter the Olympics using Break Time
  9. Roxas's physical form is based on Ventus to the point they're doppelgangers. For the Final Mix of KH2 Roxas's character model was slightly altered to more closely resemble Ven. At some point Roxas's hair becomes more of a dirty blond to reflect that he originated from Sora.
  10. Roxas is physically 16, and the ageing rate of a Nobody has been inconsistent since some members look identical (real world answer is reusing old assets) in Birth by Sleep to their Organisation appearances ten/eleven years on while other do have younger models in Birth by Sleep like Lea, Isa and Ienzo. It's not inconceivable that his appearance changed little over the three hundred and fifty eight days he was in the Organisation. Within Birth by Sleep none of the main trio, Eraqus nor Xehanort appear to age during during the four year time skip as evidenced by flashback scenes, again I know to save on creating new models for Four Years Ago versions of Terra, Ventus and Aqua, but for Terra and Aqua those are big growing years. For what it's worth there's a piece of promo art for Days, Birth by Sleep and re:coded where Roxas inexplicably looks a lot older like late teens or early twenties older, which has never been explained that I've seen of.
  11. Twilight Town clock tower with sea salt ice cream accessories.
  12. Most of them you get from story events, but some you need to go out of your way to get from chests. Terra has one that's unlocked through a Mirage Arena mission.
  13. Xion is also symbolic of how despite his efforts Xehanort just can't control everyone he manipulates. Xion was created specifically to be a compliant wielder of the Keyblade, a failsafe if Roxas didn't work out, and yet she showed the self-determination to strike out on her own and seek out her origins, even sacrificing her existence in physical and metaphysical form to act again Xemnas.
  14. Anyone already heard Last Christmas somewhere?
  15. Okay, so it's not in content intended to be accessed but rather datamined. That Terra is shown using the Zack D-Link seems to indicate the Jungle Book world was planned to be late game, either in the second ring or the space taken by Neverland. Since there are JBW assets clearly it was scrapped some way into development.
  16. Yes, chapters 2-8 are Olympus, while chapter 1 is what comes immediately before. I wonder if any worlds will be skipped, like how Halloweentown doesn't appear in the manga versions (and Deep Jungle for obvious reasons). Chapters 9-13 cover 0.2.
  17. Sarcasm. It's an entirely character driven story, so of course the emotions are going to be a driving force. Which is dramatic irony since Nobodies are told they can't feel emotion. There's nothing wrong with tugging on the emotional heartstrings because it makes you more invested in the characters. I'd rather that than characters you can't connect with.
  18. For me the saddest Disney world is the Coliseum, entirely because of the Roxas/Phil relationship. Phil takes a genuine interest in training Roxas and encouraging him to improve, but Roxas doesn't have the experiences to interpret it the way Phil means it. He sees it as expectations rather than ambitions, and their final encounter is really sad because Phil says "Don't be a stranger". We'll never get to hear these lines spoken, and that's a real world level of tragic.
  19. Because if Days needed anything it was more feels. Would have been a really emotional world, it was promised as the saddest, which for Days is really saying something.
  20. Don't think it did. Having the Destiny Islands as part of the combat tutorial would have been really cool, and better than the Phantom Ursula fight. Being able to explore them and evoking memories of the Destiny Islands segment of the first game. I've read that Space Paranoids is a big part of why Tron Legacy got made, and Timeless River is a creative world right down to how the sound is presented. Even going back to the first game there's unexpected representation like Nightmare Before Christmas and some summons like Bambi and Dumbo. Nomura definitely doesn't just go for the mainstream hits.
  21. The Toximanders did throw me off initially since you see them through the floor. Knowing the tracks thus becomes of paramount importance.
  22. The System Sector tracks would be new to a lot of people, as would the Neverland tracks from Days as both come from DS games that weren't remastered for the HD compilations.
  23. Complete every Special Portal (doesn't count the post-game boss portals) for that side. That's 39 separate portals for each character, 78 in total for both Sora and Riku to have it. You only have to clear each portal though, completing the bonus objective isn't compulsory for getting End of Pain. If you're working towards it then prepare for a lot of dropping and forecast checking, but you get nearly ten trophies out of it in the 2.8 version (one for clearing all portals in any given world on both sides). Riku's fusions also lack the invincibility frames Sora's links have, being more akin to command styles in Birth by Sleep.
  24. It's a post-credits scene, not a secret movie/ending.
