Looking at it I think i understand why the kh3 trailers arent as good as 2.8's

Precisely. Why on earth would you want to spoil anything on KH3 this early before HD2.8 comes out? Besides, it probably isn't in a state to be fully showcased with actual story to be shown.

You're right about that. Another reason is the background music they've been using. The new remix of Simple and Clean was absolute dope! I'm loving the bloody shit out of it, and is also huge reason for why this trailer was such a hit. While KH3 so far has only used Rage Awakened which we've heard a countless times already. It's badass score but it's been overused at this point. Same with how Fate of the Unknown was over used during the BbS trailers. If they want to excite us they need a new and great melody we haven't heard before to give us new associations.

Kind of thought that was obvious...? Also, there's the fact that it's much closer to releasing than KH3, which means it has more development completed to where they can actually show stuff like that off. Unless you wanted to see incomplete cutscenes that aren't rendered properly, I don't think more KH3 story scenes is what we should be asking for right now, not till it's closer to 2.8's launch and then there will be literally nothing else to focus on other than KH3.

Just wait until we get a proper story trailer for KH3 featuring a new song from Utada Hikaru

If 2.8's latest trailer is anything to go by, what we're seeing in 0.2 and Back Cover, those beautiful, improved graphics...then good God, Kingdom Hearts III is going to look godly!  It already looked amazing in previous trailers, but with the work going into 2.8, I can tell that III's graphics shall be phenomenal! :D

it's probably because they hardly have anything of substance to show.

i mean Nomura did say he felt they revealed KH3 too early.

Yup yup. I think it might also be because maybe a lot of KH3 has to do with 2.8 and revealing too much cutscenes from KH3 would spoil 2.8 before it even comes out. And knowing us, we would analyze everything to death so there's no hiding anything in the trailers  xD

OMFG yes, the Simple and CIean remix was amaaaaaziingggg! I actually have that song set as my alarm~  :D Maybe after KH 2.8 is released, they'll come out with a spanking new trailer for KH3 that features more cutscenes and all that good stuff. And they might even play the new opening in the background too, if they have one by then. But sadly, in an interview with Utada Hikaru she said that she won't be making any songs for KH3, it badly impacts her career as a singer and Square didn't pay her enough...  : I just hope that the new person is just as good...
