Was A fragmentary passage original a game on it's own?

Posted

I thought I remembered a interview with Nomura that he wanted a game in the realm of darkness with Aqua as main character but Square Enix denied it?

was this real?

I think it was more that he didn't have all the time in the world with KH3 in production.

Birth by Sleep Volume 2 was a cancelled game but Nomura still wanted to tell the story of it so he wanted to put the story in Kingdom Hearts 3. Later on he decided to put the story (/game) in 2.8.

Yeah, at one point, A Fragmentary Passage was Birth By Sleep Volume 2, but Nomura didn't have the time to tell the story he wanted to tell about Aqua in the Realm Of Darkness!  Originally, A Fragmentary Passage was to be in Kingdom Hearts III, but Nomura himself said that the game already had so much content, that he decided to cut off A Fragmentary Passage and label it as the Birth By Sleep Volume 2 he'd been wanting to make for a while! And now, the result is 0.2! We'll finally be able to get this lost story after all! :3
