(Spoilers) Now that 2.8 is out i'd like to address some grievances with 0.2

The boss fights are terribly designed. Devils wave (demon tower) is a horribly designed fight that is completely random and up to RNG. It doesn't stagger, attacks at random, has no clear pattern of attack, and devils wave 3 (final boss) has a DM that lasts forever. Its all classic Osaka BS boss design. The only good boss fight in the game is mirage aqua. Mirage Aqua has revenge value so she doesn't break out at random, has attack patterns that can be visualized so you can respond with the proper defensive strategy, has a DM that can be somewhat skipped if using the right spell, and is just an amazingly designed fight. I seriously hope Nomura and the team are listening to feedback from 0.2 because if devils wave type bosses are in KH3 its looking to be a disaster in the making. EDIT: Sorry for not adding spoiler tag

It has a pattern but you have to really pay attention (I'm not saying you weren't, I'm just saying their really subtle), but I do think it attacks to often and with few breaks sometimes. But my main problems are the controls, their extremely delayed and the amount of enemies with stun attacks should be reduced plus the time your stuned as well. There are other issues with damage, but I'll have to play more to figure out what exactly the problem is. Also I thought the Darkside boss was good but the homing (and range) on the dark missiles should be nerfed, and that goes for the other homing projectiles too.

Idk.I Thought the game was perfect. If any thing erked me it was just Mickeys voice. If kh3 is gonna be bigger and way better than this, then kh3 will be the all time greatest game evvvvva!!!!

I agree that the Devil's Wave/Core were a little ridiculous. The patterns were easy to see, but there were little openings and for the kind of game it is, I'd even argue they deal way too much damage. I played on proud mode and for its relatively easy game play, I had several game overs from fighting Devil's Wave/Core in the later half. I think the part that really aggravated me was that the game over screen would give me hints for the fights and one of the tips was to use blizzard to freeze the core during phase 2. Let me tell you how it doesn't actually work. I have made direct contact with blizzard to the core and it does not freeze it no matter how many time you hit it.

My only real complaint was the third devil wave, that fight was a bit (okay, really) ridiculous but not impossible. One thing to note about the Third Devil wave is that once they turn red, it becomes harder to attack them so your best bet is to block, followed by the option to attack until it goes into "beserk mode" where you will no longer be able to do that. Then there's that one annoying move that has you stuck in one place while you continue to take continual damage with no way out... honestly I think we can all do without another boss like that lol

After a while I got used to Devil's Tower and it wasn't all that bad but the post-game Phantom Aqua is very poorly done imo. It feels like BBS MF all over again where its feels like the game is just cheap rather than you got outplayed by the boss. I really enjoyed Phantom Aqua in the actual game but they added an effect where several of her attacks just flat out ignore barrier. This takes away your major defensive option unless you can perfectly time you counter but often the timing feels inconsistent. She also teleports the majority of the time and this mixed with her guard breaking hits are just enraging. The timing is pretty simple to pick up so you know when she's going to do the first attack but there aren't many safe options. She does 3 dashes back to back to back. You have 2 choices I've found. Cartwheel and hope she doesn't dash where you cartwheeled because if she does you still take damage, or jump and air dash and hope she doesn't dash in your direction bc if she does you get hit. If you could see her and react this wouldn't be as annoying but since she can come from anywhere and sometimes you can't even see her its really anti-fun to play against imo

I'm glad someone made a thread for complaints! I may love this series but I'm also one heck of a nitpicker. Please don't hold that against me! I did enjoy 0.2 a lot, but there were problems I had with it.

First off, yes the bosses were poorly designed and the difficulty (in my opinion) was terribly balanced. The lack of variation with the bosses seemed incredibly lazy. Attempting to block or dodge did not prevent me from taking damage and the block apparently either lags or has a cool down. The game really tried to sell the situation commands, but there were far to few of them in the game and it really wasn't "situational". Reaction commands from Kingdom Hearts 2 seemed more situational as they were different and specific to certain enemies and weren't based on which attacks you were using.

I also had some minor problems with the graphics. While for the most part I loved the new look, I had a couple of issues. First off, Mickey does not translate well onto the new engine. I think it may just be the way his nose and mouth are shaped and positioned. Secondly, Sora's character model irked me. Honestly I don't know why that is as Riki and Kairi's didn't bother me nearly as much. Though I do think some models retained to much of the "plastic like" look that was being complained about over the summer. Lastly, some of the reflected light was too harsh in my opinion and the white particle effects in Aqua's finisher had these red and blue edges like old timey 3D. It sort of made me nauseous.

Next is one of the issues that's always bothered me the most about Kingdom Hearts, not completely lip syncing all the dialogue. In the original games the lower quality facial animations made sense, but as technology progressed it seemed more and more like laziness. I thought that with the switch to the new engine that they'd finally put the proper care in to lip sync all of the lines to the dialogue but they still decided to take short cuts and had characters flapping their gums randomly in a few scenes.

This might just be me, but I had many loading problems. Often after cutscenes or boss battles the next area/scene wouldn't load and I'd have to reset the game. This happened to me over a dozen times, though that was before the most recent patch so I am unsure whether or not it has been fixed.

The story was unfortunately too short and I was hoping we'd get to see more from Aqua and the other characters. It was unfortunate that Riku and Mickey are to be the ones to rescue Aqua as I had always imagined based on the ending of Birth by Sleep and the opening of 0.2 that Sora would be the one to do it. Also, just new clothes in those suitcases Mickey and Riku had? That was quite an unessessary tease as when footage of that was shown in the trailers I expected it to be something important. Mickey's excuse for not telling anyone about Aqua was not very well thought out in my opinion.

Lastly, I had a problem with one or two of the voices. I personally love Willa Holland as the voice of Aqua but she's really hit or miss. In some scenes she's good and in others she doesn't do the best job. I'm really hoping in future appearances she can outshine her previous performances. Jason Dohring did a much better job as Terra this time around. I'm legitimately surprised. Finally, an issue with Alyson Stoner. Her performance was great and I could tell that she was trying. She just doesn't sound enough like Hayden Panettiere to make a convincing Kairi and this, like the lip sync problem, really took me out the moment when watching cutscenes. I have nothing against her as a person.

I'm curious to see if anyone else agrees with me. It might seem like a bit too much, but I suppose I just have very high expectations for my favorite game series.
