When I was playing KH1, years ago. I thought it was a cool touch how you couldn`t effect the Heartless until you got the keyblade. I thought maybe the keyblade was the only weapon that could hurt heartless.

But then it turns out everybody and their dog can hurt heartless, so I figure it`s something to do with the weakness of what is essentially a stick of wood.

But then in Hollow Bastion you can very effectively hurt heartless with a wooden sword.

So what`s going on?

it's kind of strange cuz the stick was used in kh 358/2 days in beast's castle and another stick reappeared in kh2 in twilight town, could it be the same stick. roxas a has a connection with sticks

Maybe it has to do more with the wielder than what their weapon is. In KH1, Sora couldn't summon the keyblade and both times his weapon was weak or noneffective. In KH2, Roxas couldn't summon the keyblade until he was coaxed by Namine (if I remember right). But in Days, Roxas did have the power to summon the keyblade, but he was lending it to Xion. So it could be said that the stick was powerful only because Roxas was still powerful. Personally, I think he should have stuck with the stick

 

Oftentimes DiZ simply technologied the keyblade to Roxas, and everything turned out fine, actually

well, wooden sword IS just toy sword, so it should be much weaker than acctual keyblade.

A wooden sword is just cheap plywood. It only becomes a Keyblade through the combined hearts of a million SoxRi fangirls. True Story

If u call that "hurting". To me, I if see little to none of am enemy's HP fall, THAT'S when I declare that my weapon is useless as fudge. BTW, most people will tell u they got through that part relying solely on Beast.

I have a simple explaination... reverting back to someones post about how its a videogame... as awesome as it maybe, there are these small things in both movies and videogames alike called continuity flaws/ fails. Either way you look at it, devs didnt notice it because it was so small and insignificant, and even if they didnt, no point in wasting time trying to fix it or come up with a solution as to why it is the case. Long story short... devs messed up

I thought the fact that it is and is called a wooden sword would give it away, but clearly not.

Didn't the stick Roxas used in 358/2 Days do some damage though? And I seriously doubt anyone every expected this amount of thought to be put into it at the time.
