Aquilia, May 21st, 7:10 AM.

The sun was making its way to rise and shine its light over the city of Aquila. The birds started to sing their sweet melody as they flew around the tranquil town. The citizens there were going about their daily lives. The adults hurried off to their businesses for another day at work. Some stood on the sidewalk with their stands yelling out what was for sale, announcing deals hoping for paying customers. The children played their innocent games of tag, hide-and-go seek, and little play-fighting to breeze the day off.

The light shining through her small apartment room could not be avoided. The brown haired teenager in her full bed squinted her eyes in response to the brightening light facing her. "....Ugh...Hey...." She mumbled in a Scottish accent. "Turn the lights doon, Mr. Sun..." She opened her eyes a little bit, then closed them again. The sun's light got bright. The girl grunted a little and turned over, facing the other side. "A wee bit of more sleep is all I'm askin' fur..." She began opening her eyes. "What time is it anyways...?" Her blurry vision soon cleared to reveal her electronic alarm clock saying 7:10. The girl sleepy girl slowly went back to her dreamland...

7:10 Am....

But then she immediately opened her eyes fully. "I'M A GOD DARN DIDDY!!!" She said loudly, quickly getting out of bed.

A beautiful, curvy (yes, curvy) woman in her usual blue teacher attire having her black hair in a ponytailed style straightened her glasses as she stood in front of the school building.

"Where are my first groups of students? It's only 5 more minutes until the Combat Exam starts. I told them to be here at exactly 7:15 AM or earlier." She said to herself.

(As you might guess...The Roleplayers/Your characters are the first group for the combat exam. Sooo....HURRY UP OR YOU"LL BE LATE!!!)

"Dad I can't stay any longer! I'm going to be late!" Caspar yelled, running out of the cabin and into the deck, before tumbling down the ramp onto the dock next to the ship. His father stepped out behind him, walking over to the railing to look down at his son on the dock. "Be careful out there. Don't you dare come back with your tail between your legs." He warned, his voice booming as he threw something at Caspar, who looked up from where he stood and caught whatever was thrown at him. It as a skull. "Dad I don't need the Lucky Skull! I'm not a kid anymore! I'll be fine!" Caspar hissed, throwing the skull right back up, his father catching it. "I still do not agree to this." "I promise you, it'll be worth while!" Caspar insisted, looking over at his pocket watch before gasping. He was going to be late. "I'M LEAVING NOW BYE!" With that, Caspar ran off before his father could hold him back any further. He finally managed to convince his father to allow him to attend this academy, and partly it was because it involved combat out of all things. He had today to tell his dad if he was willing to stay...or if he was going to give up and return with him. After all, his father and the crew were leaving early morning the next day. He would either stay, or leave. Tough choice. Regardless, he was determined, and hurried his way to the school building, hoping he would arrive on time.

"Hey, watch where you're going!" Mercurius looked up surprised, frowning as he rose his arms in defense. "Sorry! I didn't mean to!" He insisted, the old gruffy man not really having it. "Whatever. Get out of the way." The man said, slightly pushing his way past Mercurius. Mercurius hummed, looking rather offended as he watched the man walk away, before slowly smirking at himself as he opened his fist to reveal a handful of golden coins stolen straight from the man's pocket. "Too easy." Mercurius hummed, smiling as he added the coins to his pouch and walked off to continue his way to the school. Being a thief and dancer brought a lot of money. But you know what else also brought money? Fame and mercenaries. His family figured why not both, once they found out abut the academy. And so Mercurius was sent over, hoping that once he entered through the Combat Exam, he could steal some interesting things from the students that attended, and gain himself a name before returning home. Not that Mercurius minded, anything to get away from his so called adoptive parents. He could see the academy from where he walked, hurrying down the road to reach it before time ran out. He barely could contain his excitement at the thought of what kind of people he would meet...and what kind of items they could have carrying around in their pockets.

Millicent - Aquilla

On a park bench somewhere near the combat school, a young woman relaxed and watched the sunrise splash light across the city. She observed the people passing by on their way to work, the children playing around, and the birds flitting around in the air. Millicent always liked to wake up early. Seeing the world she vowed to protect like this made it a little easier on her. She glanced a park clock, noticing that it was now 7. She'd stayed a little later than she planned to, but it wasn't a big deal. She wasn't worried about her performance in the test. She was much more experienced than she told anyone else here, and she'd be leaving the town shortly anyway. It was a bit of a shame: this town was so nice, and she didn't really like leaving behind people she'd work with while under cover. Unfortunately, her business with Eclipse came first.

Millicent stood up and brushed her robes off. She took the staff that was propped up against the bench and began to walk over to the school. She made it around 7:10. The teacher was standing out front of the school. Millicent gave her a quick look-over. She seems a little irritated... Maybe I should have paid more attention to the time. I wanted to arrive earlier. Millicent walked over to the teacher and gave her a bright smile. "Hello! I apologize, I wanted to be here at 7... I was a little distracted."

Eclipse - Aquilla Town

While everyone in the town went about their business, a mysterious figure lurked about, hiding in the shadows. However, the figure wasn't plotting anything sinister. He was Eclipse, the famed ninja. He walked around to keep an eye on the town and ensure that everyone was safe. He now kept to the rooftops and made his way to where he could see the combat school, then watched to get a better idea of the teacher and students. Luckily, Millicent was the first to arrive. If there was any danger, the two could work together.

Mordred - Aquilla

... Concealing had been hard pressed work as Mordred arrived it became rather clear... Passed on how the figure was dressed that they were ambiguous as to what gender they were.... Mostly due to the armor... It had a Knightly look to it which easily became quite clear... However, the armor wasn't as opposing as one might suspect as the figure was shorter than the average knight that much was certain however the silver armor with red painted over and a red cloth that acted as a sort of tabard definitely made Mordred definitely stand out.

"..." No words came out... Appearing to just remain silent about the issue and await the others.

Hooded Knight - Aquilla

The Hooded Knight let out a sigh as he began making his way toward some form of Combat Exam... It was well worth it despite having to disguise himself to do so damn wizard really had to go all out with this... Regardless he walked through the town letting the morning breeze and sites take in... A waste of time as soon it became a rush to arrive though he continued walking probably not arriving last but certainly arriving a bit late. "Ah, you'll have to excuse me I had got myself caught up in the joys of life and wonder."

So he was the fourth among them? Or well so he supposed to arrive his face hidden by his hood as he talked though his voice tone was soft and kind even had a form of charisma to it. "...Interesting round about we have here so far." He took a minor glance at the other Knight though kept his attention on the cloaked figure and Millicent.

Probably due to the fact that both of the new arrivals were knights from their appearance and thus could possibly be equated or he just didn't have much interest in the familiar, but the unknown instead.

"I'm sorry I'm late!" Caspar yelled, running right up to the teacher, stopping just a foot away before bumping into her. He panted, catching his breath before looking up with an apologetic look. "It took me a while to be allowed to get off the ship! Pirates are very stubborn and all!" Caspar said, panting a bit more before fixing himself up. Oh, there were other people around. Now he felt embarrassed. He rubbed the back of his neck, waving at them. "Oh, hi...I didn't make you guys wait for me, did I?" Caspar asked. If he screwed this up, it would mean being dragged back into the ship for life. His eyes turned to the knights, their armor catching his attention. Specifically Mordred's. It was...huge! It made him look like a dragon! He had been in the ports of the medieval clan before, seeing knights and all...but this armor was simply amazing. "Wow." Caspar gasped, unable to look away. However before he could speak up more, another voice spoke up. "Oi, I'm not late, am I?" Mercurius spoke, walking up the group with the confidence and charm that made him who he was. He stood out compared to the rest, he thought, and that's exactly how he liked it. "Thank goodness! I lost my way coming here. Here I was worried my trip would have been for nothing!" Mercurius said with a wink as he stopped among the group. He wasn't shy, quickly eyeing everyone as he began to make mental notes about them. "All of you are from the Medieval Clan, are you not? I shouldn't be surprised! You guys are known to be good warriors, after all." Mercurius said with a smile, before his eyes landing on Caspar and pointing at him. "Except you. You're obviously a pirate. Your outfit tells you away easily. You stink like one too." Mercurius teased as he got a hand over his nose and smirked. Caspar glared. "Excuse you! I showered this morning!"

Grace started heading to the school after helping her mother with some groceries she bought. she saw the teacher standing outside of the school as she arrived, feeling a bit embarrassed. "forgive me for being late. My mother needed help with something." She said. Grace then waits for the others to come. She looks at Mercurius who is currently make fun of Casper in a kind of playful way. She sighs as she shook her head, takes out a small book and started reading.

The rash of people causing a commotion was but a precursor. Dropping beside Millicent came ARI-4, or Aria. She grabbed Millicent and Grace, and stelped back exactly two feet.

"Calculations state this is optimal safe distance."

And before she could respond the reason why happened.

Zion fell and flattened the curvy teacher. "Owowow...who put that cumulus cloud right there..." she groaned, sitting up...before realizing she was on the teacher. "OH NO!" She yelped, flapping all six wings and gaining altitude. "I'M SORRY I TRIPPED!" Yelped the Pinnae Prodigy, her six wings pure white. She had been running late and well, had a tendency to trip. On clouds.

Edited by Sabre Lily

Caspar yelped as someone from the sky fell right onto their teacher, having him jump back in surprise as he stared. If he were just a foot closer he would have been squashed too. "Oh my goodness are you both ok?!" Caspar gasped, not knowing what to do. However the angelic woman quickly flew herself up to her feet. Caspar offered the teacher his hand to help her up, all while he looked up at the angel with wide eyes. "H...How do you trip while flying?!" Caspar asked. Traveling across the seas gave him much knowledge, but he never stayed in one place long enough to really immerse himself and gain the knowledge he wished he knew of the other clans. Not to mention...the Pinnae Clan kind of lived high above the clouds. Not really a place where you would find a pirate unless the ship flew. Boy he had a lot to learn. When the shock of the sudden fall faded from Mercurius, it was replaced with laughter. He really didn't expect to see that today. Nope. Certainly not. Unlike Caspar, Mercurius when with the flow with whatever came his way, helping him live this far. "Is this the appropriate time to ask if it hurt when you fell from heaven?" Mercurius asked among his laughter, eyeing the harpy with curiosity. Those wings...they were gorgeous. He wouldn't mind having a feather or two of them if he could.

Ms. Genka, laying on the ground, straightened her glasses and sighed. "Good grief. Honestly, I should've seen this coming..." She then chuckled and got up, brushing herself off. "It's alright Zion. Just please be more careful while running on clouds. A little boy might have an unfortunate fate getting flattened by a six-winged girl. Or a fortunate fate. Depending on preference." She stated with a small giggle. The teacher then faced the arriving students. "And it's no trouble at all, my students. As long as you made it here, you're all fine." She then looked at her clock watch on her wrist.

7:11 AM

The brown haired Scottish girl frantically searched through her closet room, rampaging through her clothing. "I should've gotten me bum out of bed earlier! Stupid lazy side of mine..." She quickly found her red top half of her red attire, her bottom half, and of course her red hat.

Millicent

Shortly after Millicent arrived, other students began to slowly show up. All went well, at least until a woman appeared and pulled her back along with another girl. Millicent was a little surprised, but the bigger surprise came when another woman fell from the sky and toppled the teacher. Luckily, it seemed like it was just an accident, although she found it a little strange that a winged woman just fell from the sky. She knew about the Pinnae Clan, though she thought they all inhabited the skies. She wasn't really sure what one of them was doing here... A few other people arrived to check in on the situation, so Millicent figured that they probably didn't need any more panic. She turned over to the woman who pulled her back and quickly glanced over her. Millicent then gave her a smile. "Thank you. My name is Millicent," she held out her hand as she greeted the woman. "I don't believe that we've met, have we?"

Eclipse

Eclipse nearly lunged into action as the two seemingly mysterious people literally dropped in, but it seemed to all be an accident. He returned to his former pose and continued observing. The Pinnae stood out to him; they weren't supposed to be in areas like this. He'd heard about a Pinnae who wandered the land, but had no clue if this was the one he'd heard of. If she was, then Eclipse had no clue what she'd be doing at a school for training combatants. The others all seemed fairly normal, however, and the suspicious woman seemed friendly enough.

{Mako: Aquillia}

Mako moseyed down the street, drinking the last of her tea as she considered the morning activities she was headed to. She was not worried about a combat exam. She figured she had been fighting one way or another for about 700 years and had gotten good at it. She could probably teach the class, if she wanted.

But that wasn't why she was here. Mako had been born with a natural connection to magic, especially Blue Magic. Through her adventures, she had absorbed many spells and powers from her enemies, making her powerful enough to take on Ragnarok. But after that battle, she found she couldn't use Blue Magic anymore, or her Esper form. She eventually adapted to the set spell list, but about 150 years ago, she started losing spells. Now, she was down to three spells.

"Haven't been this low on spells since before my big adventure." She mentally mused.

So, running low on magic, Mako decided to join some school to learn some more spells the old fashioned way. Hopefully they would stick better this time around. As far as she knew, everyone at the school thought she was just a Western Clan scout sent to get some specialist training. That was fine by her. The last thing she wanted know was some damn historians hounding her for answers about historic events she lived through.

Finishing her tea, the Half Esper threw the disposable cup away before heading for the school. She arrived after a few minutes, but still before the official start time.

"Well, well." Mako said, coming to a stop as she looked around at the students that were already there. "Nice to see clans get together without a fight."

She chuckled as she eyed Caspar.

"Though, with all these medievals around, me and the pirate might have to buddy up."

"What are you-?" Before she about to ask the woman who moved her and the other girl, Grace saw another woman, a Pinnae, in fact, fell on top of the teacher. She was surprised and a bit confused after Zion said that she tripped. (how exactly? At least both of them are alright. Especially Ms. Genka.) she sighs in relief and looks at Aria. "thanks for that." She smiles.

"Mm. My fortunate fate was flattening my teach!" She grinned, winking at Ms. Genka. She was hopeless.

Aria turned to those she pulled back. "Automated Reconnaissance Intelligence 4. You may call me Aria." She bowed briefly.

Millicent

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Aria," Millicent said, returning a bow. She quickly glanced back at the situation with the teacher, and thankfully, it seemed that the situation was being resolved... even if the resolution appeared to be leading to a strange new situation. Millicent chose to ignore that and focus on her current conversation. The others could settle their problem. Someone was bound to flirt with her soon, anyway... Millicent silently noted before speaking again. "Your full name... um, Automated was a part of it, right? Are you some sort of machine, then?" she asked. Millicent figured that with a long name like that, she was either some sort of agent running under a codename or a robot. She'd seen a robot before, but it looked very rigid and mechanical. If Aria was one, Millicent never would have guessed before the name came up.

Caspar crossed his arms as he looked over at the Harpie flirting with the professor with no shame. But at least they seemed to be fine despite the fall. When Mako chirped up about partnering up, Caspar wasn't shy to give a smile in return. "I think we could have a fair chance. That is, if you're able to keep up." Caspar joked at Mako. It was...odd to see so many of different clans all together like this. But then again, they were here for something that involved fighting...so that was pretty ironic too. Mercurius hummed as he walked around Aria, admiring how, well, human she looked. "You're a robot? I can barely tell! You must be from the Technos Clan then? You guys sure do things over the top don't you?" Mercurius asked as he poked at Aira's arm a bit. Despite looking human, her skin was still cold to the touch, sending shivers down Mercurius' spine. Regardless, he never wavered. "I think you might be our toughest competitor! I mean, you being a machine and all. Unless you have pain receptors. If I cut you up, would you feel it?" Marcurius asked rather casually, still poking at Aria. What a strange group they made.

7:13 AM

The Red Mage came through the city streets, hurrying towards the school building. She occasionally dashed through some of the people weren't trying to get in her way, but were in her way. " 'Scuse me!" She announced sliding under a stand before jumping back up again.

"14...13...12...11..." Ms. Genka counted, looking at her watch. "10...9...8..7...6...5...4..3..2-"

"HEY! HAULD YER HORSES FER ME!!" Yelled the Red Mage from afar, waving her hand. The teacher looked up and chuckled a little. "Earlier than I anticipated."

The Red Mage panted after running from such a long distance with her hands on her knees. "Oo boy..." She wiped the sweat off her forehead and smiled. "Nothin' lik a mournin run tae start yer day off. Heh heh heh!" She raised her hands behind her head in a casual posture. "Ma name's Solisa. Glad tae meet ya."

Caspar looked up as Solisa arrived, waving at her. Judging by the teacher's chuckle, she expected her to arrive even later. "Well, you're just in time, I think. All of us are just...hanging around." Caspar said, offering Solisa a soft smile. Once Mercurius was done inspecting Aria, he had already moved onto Zion, inspecting her gorgeous wings, taking a closer look at them. "Your wings are so pretty." Mercurius said, a smile on his lips as he crossed his arms. "Your kind do not wonder down here often, if at all. It's so strange to see you and your wings. Tell me, do you shed your feathers from time to time? Are you born with feathers or do they grow as time passes? Does it hurt if someone pulls a feather off you?" Mercurius asked, already walking around Zion before stopping in front of her. "If you lose some of them, can I have them? I bet there are a lot of people who would be interested in them!" Mercurius said rather cheerfully.

"Sounds like a challenge." Mako replied to Casper with a chuckle. "What do you say, 20 bucks on which ever of us makes it through the rails first?"

Enjoying herself, the Half Esper continued her survey of the class. There were a couple of androids, which surprised Mako. Synthetic people was a subject she hadn't fully mind her mind about. Maybe these android stuff would help her decide. The harpy looked familiar.

"Maybe I knew an ancestor of her's?" Mako thought, studying Zion for a moment longer.

All in all, the group looked like it could be fun. Mako was wondering how many more students were suppose to pop up when Solisa ran in. An obvious Red Mage. A flexible skill set the Half Esper had grown to envy lately. Maybe Solisa could give her some pointers.

"Don't worry." Mako said with a wink. "You ain't late until about minute after start time."

Grace nods and smiles. "nice to meet you, Aria." She said. After the introduction, she saw a mage in red who arrived just in time. She sighs and chuckles quietly. "Glad to meet you too, Solisa."

Solisa looked around the group, seeing all the different faces that were present this year. "Wow! Ferr th' variet we've git 'ere, eh? No hide or tail of an Anthros though." She then shrugged. "Guessing ye'r a' newbies at this. Luckily fur ye, I guess ye could ca' me a senior. Heh Heh! Been doin' this ev'r since I git here." Solisa then looked at Ms. Genka. "She an' I have a bit of history together."

The teacher crossed her arms in a playful matter. "I would hardly call a few years 'history' Solisa."

"Eh, tomato tomoto." The red mage commented.

  • 2 weeks later...

Mako chuckled again.

"Not necessarily a newbie." She answered Solisa. "Just brushing up on some old skills."

She gestured to the Red Mage's get up.

"Maybe even pick up some new ones. Always been interested in the combo of skills Red Mages have. Got any pointers?"

Caspar piped up at Mako's question. "I would like to double on that request!" Caspar said cheerfully. "Any pointers or advice would be very much appreciated." Caspar added, before reaching down and grabbing a hold of Mercurius' hand right before he reached for Caspar's pockets. "Keep your hands to yourself, thief, you're not the only sly fox in this hen house." Caspar hissed, glaring at Mercurius, who simply glared back, pulling his hand away. "I would have figured you pirates would have too much sea salt in that brain of yours to actually notice anything." Mercurius hummed, to which Caspar could only growl back. Two thieves from rival clans. This would be a long day for the two. "At least I know when to keep my hands where they;re suppose to be." Caspar huffed, turning away to ignore Mercurius, who simply shrugged and turned to pay attention to the angel's wings once more. Caspar crossed his arm, looking at the teacher. "Are we waiting for anyone else?"

Ms. Genka looked at her watch. "Only a couple more. Shouldn't be much longer." She said. Just then, Solisa's face lit up. "Oh! That reminds me." She walked over to Ms. Genka, grinning. "Where's old Sissy Face?" The teacher's tilted slightly. "Sissy Face?" She thought about this nickname for a moment...Then it came to her memory. "Oh you mean her."

"Aye. Her." The Red Mage responded.
