Have you ever considered the fact that this was in development whilst the whole AM2R debacle occurred?

They hate any of their franchises having a fan-made game

Actually, they would have taken it down even without the game being in development

Meanwhile at the F-Zero community. Oh & were getting a remake of Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga with Bowser's Minions being added.

Although the Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Trailer caught my attention. Mentions Tetsuya Nomura in the credits part.

They were pretty generous with AM2R, given that they waited for the game to be released and have a day or two to distribute before shutting it down. At this point, people have made all sorts of mirror downloads and pretty much everyone interested in the game has it by now. And Nintendo isn't the only company that shuts down fangames, it's something that has to be done to protect their IPs.

I think it's safe to say that Nintendo had a very strong outing at this year's E3! Just with the Metroid titles announced, I think that was enough to make people go in a fanboying/fangirling frenzy!
